I did this for 43 years, all kinds of weather, but this is part of a conductor's job. Years past we had a head brakeman, rear brake or flagman, and the conductor so the work was spread out. Also had a caboose to keep the flag and conductor warm, head brake road in the locomotive with the engineer. Watching this video makes me thankful that I am retired and no longer out in the weather. Great presentation.
@garykuipers2696 • Isn’t it absolutely amazing what being retired will make one grateful for? Not a railroad person, but retired and so happy to be so. Enjoy your “new life” to the fullest.😊😊😊
There is a small group of E&LS cars that are going offline in interchange and at least some of the Cloquet terminal cars are still in use. On a long shot it's possible the mega log haulers might go to the far North End Of The Line to be loaded. Who knows they may even leave the power there for a quick return. Hopefully your weather holds so that you'll catch the southbound. First actual winter storm due in lower Wisconsin Saturday with 4 to 8 inches and possible lake-effect snow. Very nice coverage at an active customer
My husband loves your videos. He loves it up that way. He wants to move up that way someday. His dad used to have a hunting cabin in Powers, so he knows alot of the area. Thanks for the great videos.
I enjoyed watching this video think you so much Jason for filing this video out in the cold we need more train video Luke this I really love watching it think you so much
Awesome railroad switching. Loved the old conrail colors. Suprised nobody was standing by the grade crossing with a flag or burning maker that has no grade gates ?!!
The conductor probably didn't hear you but I heard him talking to some one else, yeah my hearing is that good, I suffer from a condition many alcoholics do it's called hypersensitivity, my hearing is heightened my eyes are super sensitive to light, loud noises make me jump high, and my eyes hurt at night when driving from headlight glare extremely, but yeah I heard him talking leaving and coming back by and his radio beeping. I don't drink now but alcohol does dull my senses enough where I feel normal, it's a bee but I have learned to live with it. Love your videos just wish I could get out farther to witness real trains, I live in Charlevoix , about east southeast of Escanaba, southeast of Manistique in the LP, closest train track is Traverse City an hour away. That's why I love your vids ,Michigan trains, God Bless you.
I Love watching switching, here in Maine the Railroad workers are sometimes m*@* bast***$, from us just filming their moves! More from the workers in the yards! But I just love watching them pulling and shoving to drop and makeup trains!!! Love your videos!!! Thanks for sharing!
Cannot believe Facebook censored a train Video, they are losing their minds. There was nothing in the community standards of their rules that you did wrong. This kind of stuff in truly UNCALLED FOR.

That engineer connected with the other cars without slamming them together. Excellent job.
Those blue locomotives are looking extra bright today!
Nice switching action, absolutely first rate.

The sound of EMD's is great but you need to hear ALCO's and MLW's under load. great work. thank you.
Nice one Jason. The lack of wind and fresh soft snow made for some great EMD sound pickup.
Thanks 👍
When you asked him how he was doing he replied “fine”. Your microphone picked it up. I’m guessing these logs are going to papermills
He said awesome

Way too brave the cold to make this video enjoy it very much 👍🏼
Great job jay 👍🏻 Robin out
Interesting, they’re using el cheapo FRS radios instead of commercial business band radios.
I'd rather be in the locomotive.
The red Chevy is America's car.
Cool video!
I know a couple times you said something about the CN Reddy railroad running up there to try to get a video of the CN once in a while

Yo let's do this
He said something couldn't quite make it out.
Maybe they need to change 502's number to 420, or paint a green plant on the side.

No wonder those careless drivers cross the tracks on crossings flashing red lights with no gates.
Yeah - only 19:29
Do they have a caboose they use?
Nope.
Why did they retire locomotive number 500
It blew something they couldn't replace. Now they have been stripping parts off it for the other locos in the 500 series.
Hold on to your sack
That's not the same train
Huh???
What do you mean
Big Train for a small Railroad.
