I first thought the Black Series one was nice. But this figure blows it out the water. I actually think the head sculpture is dead on. I feel like I’m looking at Daisy lol awesome review.

Thankyou Victoria, you ALWAYS do great reviews, and most of all .... honest ! I have the same "issue" with my SHF Rey re the lack of ANY arm swivel ! A swivel in the arm (shoulder downwards) is a MUST these days at this price point & quality, for ANY 6 inch figure. For this Rey either at the elbow (as you say via a real ball socket joint) or the VERY obvious location at her upper bicep where the cloth transitions into skin - such a EASY inclusion engineering wise. It would enable her to pose as per the box art and to wield her Lightsaber in so many more positions. Other than that a 9/10 figure for me easy, glad I have her !
The height on this one is really interesting, especially given to SHF's history of making their figures generally underscaled (basically all tall guys like Vader, Mace, Anakin, Qui-gon, Kylo are smaller than their BS counterparts).Otherwise, this is one of the best (if not the best) facial sculpts I've seen in 6" SW in a long time.
You mention a few times that the elbows only hinge and do not rotate preventing the figure from holding the saver with 2 hands... this is actually not true!!! They do rotate! Right out of the box the joints are REALLY stiff, but after a few poses mine now moves smoothly, and can hold the saber with both hands in all kinds of positions! Hope this works for you!
Great video as always! In regards to the new face printing technology, I believe it's the next wave (Rex, DJ, Resistance Rey) that will be the 1st Black Series figures it will be utilized on.
This is the first figure I’ve seen with an actual good head sculpt. I think the biggest thing I notice is they got her jaw line perfect. If I was in the market for a TLJ figure of her I’d 100% get this. Very well done.

Hmm. That's not a bad idea.
She can actually be set up to hold Luke's lightsaber with both hands easily if you pose her holding it horizontally like the one at the back box. It's setting her to hold it vertically in front of her torso that's rather tricky.
It's difficult either way. I've tried it.
Nice review, very thorough which is appreciated. Wow, that likeness is really amazing & overall figure appears outstanding. Have not yet seen the movie so did not have this one on my list but may have to reconsider after watching this video. Kudos to SHFA for getting this one right (as some of their other recent issues have not been all that great IMO (like the Sith Speeder)).
Thank you. Yeah, not quite sure what happened with the Sith Speeder. The new Vader is also pretty unfortunate. Here's hoping they get their act together for Obi-Wan and Princess Leia. Not to mention Episode III Anakin and the rest.

Vicky..if you rotate the shoulder ball joint it acts like a bicep joint..not the best, but if you carefully futz with it you can get her to hold the saber with both hands. Again rotate the shoulder carefully but it does rotate to the point where the arms can act like a bicep swivel
Almost forgot, rotate the shoulder ball joint by gradually turning or twisting her arm inward and outward , you will see it is possible

I usually get mine from AmiAmi or Hobby Link Japan. It's the same as ordering from sites in the US, there's just the conversion of US dollars to yen. It's cheaper though than getting them on Ebay.
Right. I went to the actual site for SH Figuarts and found the price tags but no buy/pre-order option next to them so that was strange but there were price listings there. Anyways, I will def. visit those sites you mentioned. Appreciate the response and help! ;D
Vandicoup if you want to officially pre order it, you have to live in Japan and use the premium bandai website, but if you live outside of Japan, you can just preorder them from the sites Victoria mentioned

6:20 Since DQ no longer serves Snickers Blizzard treats I no longer have a frame of reference for your Figuarts Rey commentary. In short, I am confused and without my cold sugary confections I so enjoyed. She cant 2 hand her blade... I think I'm going to sell this and the Kylo when she gets here. I've seen the film twice. Listened to all sides of fandom whether the film is good or not. And I'm still not a big fan of it. Will probably get TFA Rey when it gets released and call it a day.
Do you know if this figure can fit on the black series Rey speeder?
I doubt it since it doesn't have soft goods.

No. She didn't wear this outfit on the island as far as I can recall. The first time I saw her wearing it was when she left Ach-To aboard the Falcon.
I guess I have to see the movie again as well.. Lol.. Now that's bugging me
J.R. Kaneko I just watched it again and she never uses that pouch in this outfit. Oh well. A bonus is a bonus.

Coleman Trebor I don’t know if Episode I Obi-Wan is still in production or not but you could check Amazon. For Maul they just reissued him and his speeder so I’d look at the import sites like AmiAmi or Hobby Link Japan.
I know these are action figures of high quality but when will the clothing be cloth and hair be "doll hair strands?" Articulated toys are being made for people playing and posing their toys (MIP never understood even in Hasbro's black series line)! Hasbro tried in 1995 with the 12" doll line but little girls probably never bought into them. The 3 3/4 inch "Force Links" toyline seems now most mysterious by Hasbro! We'll probably get more EP IV-VI characters like Gran Moff Tarkin, Captain Piett probably, etc. but possible future hand held voice update devices will be needed (unless chip in figure stores voice data)! I don't think they will re-do the "Commtech characters of 1999" but then we do need a Count Duku and General Grievous, don't we? 😂 P.S. I wouldn't mind adding another Darth Maul (if they do him again)!

Trust me, actual cloth and hair strands on a 1/12 scaled or 6inch action figure won't really work well, they ruin the illusion of the volume of the figure for looking puffy and thick due to how cloth are naturally loose as a material. The Mafex Kylo Ren tried to pull this by making his inner suit made of cloth and somehow the final product looked like it's a kid trying to dress as Kylo Ren but with the wrong size. The only way to make this work is to use leather like what Mezco and Hot Toys usually do, which in exchange, cost a lot to produce. Figuarts are considered as high quality not just because of the details but also due to the figures are made of PVC instead of regular plastic which Hasbro regularly use.
Glasses&Mouthplates ... I've seen half size dolls with doll hair. I don't know their performance vs looking messy once played with (even 12 inch ones need combing instantly released from packaging)! I was just commenting the need the hair loose for head joint restrictions mentioned in this video problem!!
Clothing is a different matter! We see many in 3 3/4" done well (even 2003 Deluxe Slave Leia with Cannon)! The 2017 40th Anniversary show the six inch clothing superior methods by Hasbro to capture Leia, Obi-Wan, Tattoine Luke, Darth Vader and more (all cloth)! It can be done!!
It will work on 12" dolls, but not so much on a 6". Sure they may look good, but by doing it, it'll compromise the concept of making the figure design as close as possible to the source material. Most figure maker nowadays try to combat that by sculpting the back hair with soft PVC, or put some articulation on it. I also own this Rey and honestly, I don't really have problem with posing her head since her side hair are soft enough to not bump over her shoulders.
And yes, the cloth material worked on Leia (both her slave and New Hope outfit), Obi-Wan, and Vader, because they were used for skirts, loose robes and capes. At least those won't look off when they turn out puffy or oddly-scaled. Sorry to say though, Tatooine Luke with the cloth robe seriously looks rather funny. The fact that cloth (at least on a small action figure size) naturally won't have the folding details of the real robe Mark Hamill wore in ep4 makes the cloth robe on the 3inch and Black Series farmboy Luke looked more like an oversized shirt or bath towels draped around his body.
Just to clarify, I'm not exactly saying that cloth material and actual strand hair are overall a bad idea and concept, I'm just saying they're not what an action figure needs in order to be considered as high end.
