Ugh, yeah, the lower neck looseness seems to be happening to more people than not. Why didn't they make both necks the same so they could be swapped? Why did they make the masked neck unable to move at the bottom of the neck? So weird and unnecessary. And I STILL love the figure. I'm such a sucker.
I imagine the Figuarts team sitting in a darkened room scheming and discussing what they can do to make the figures at least a little frustrating for collectors. It's like the loose torso on Jango or the removable hair and faceplates on Luke. I see little logic in some of these decisions. But what can you do? It's still an enjoyable figure for sure.
The SHF saber blade looked more realistic in comparison to the Mafex’s. The former had the ignition and flickering feel while the latter one looked more like a toy kit.
Interestingly, looking at the promotional material, Kylo's belt in TLJ doesn't seem to have any silver elements to it, and that it's all black. So maybe Figuarts got that bit right?
The head sculpt for the unmasked head is what really sells me with this figure. Not a huge fan of the butterfly shoulder joints though. They stand out a bit too much for me. Same goes for the elbow joints. Still a really nice figure, just not a home run.
Yes, same here for sure. Without that head it's still a good figure, but not quite a great one. The unmasked head helps push it into great territory even though there are other flaws. I'm kind of mixed on the butterfly joints. They don't look great, but they allow more movement. There are always pros and cons with these figures.
Seems like mine is probably the only few that didn't have that loose lower neck issue, although it does easily pop off when I try to turn Kylo's head on the lower neck joint. I somewhat believe that lower neck connection wasn't meant to be for articulation considering the whole neck does seem to be design to fully fill in the neck socket with almost no clearance for it to have the neck rotated or bend around.
Has anyone tried putting the masked head/neck from this one on the Force Awakens SHF Exclusive unmasked version and conversely used the hand with the helmet attached to the new TLJ Kylo? I have both, but haven't had the time to hunt down the pieces and to play Frankenstein yet. Loving this figure and the Rey that arrived this week. Also for the first time EVER I "double dipped" and SHF SW figure by buying another farm boy Luke to keep in the "training ball" pose/getup while using my original one with the SDCC Landspeeder if I ever open it. lol
Thanks! Yeah, it's hard to compare them justly since the scales are slightly different between the two. I feel like the MAFEX is more film accurate and has better detail overall.
I have like two options the force awakens Kylo ren or the last Jedi kylo ren which should you say is better Victoria (talking about accessories and moving and stuff)
Honestly I think The Rise of Skywalker Kylo Ren, if we're talking SH Figuarts, is the one to get. I did a review of him a few months back. The costume looks better and he has more accessories.
Looks like he got lipstick on though ...and the arms look thin compared to the waist ..don't look too bad but I got to agree ..few more highlights would make this guy pop ..yea that peg looks too short that's unfortunate maybe they will improve that as time goes on still looks kinda cool ... nice work always enjoy watching your vids

I love kylo ren figures but this one looks horrible. those joints are hideous. I can't stand collectors that are only about articulation. Don't get me wrong, articulation is important but To a certain extent. I much prefer the black series to this garbage. I don't need my kylo to do the splits or some incredibly ridiculous pose that he has never done. And those butterfly joints though... 😩 Sorry just had to get that off my chest. Love your channel! Keep up the great reviews.

Yup! Saw it and the new Vader. A little disappointed in Vader but Luke looks pretty nice.
Black Series with SHF face print technology is probably the best type of figure that will be available.

Great review. The helmet looks good. I love my mafex kylo but the helmet looks big compared to the sh figuarts. Figuarts looks more screen accurate

Pretty correct if you should look at how large a head Adam Driver has. I almost thought he was paintbrushed when he first appeared in TFA.

Not in the US due to licensing issues. Hasbro owns the 6" market in the US. Most collectors I know import them from Japan.
