Thank you for sharing your story. It will definitely help others. The thing I didn't realize when I first came out is that we don't just come out once. We come out over and over again; every time we start a new job, or move to a new place, or make a new friend. It does get easier. I look forward to your videos, I find them very calming. Happy pride!
You exhibited so much strength and character. I wish I'd done the same at your age. I caught more grief from my religious family when I told them I'm vegetarian, & then 10 years later, that I'm Buddhist. By the timed they figured out I'm gay, it wasn't a big deal after a few weeks, alho' they've never really approved.
Jon, I'm so very proud of you for standing in your truth, and taking a stand for the man that you are! Your story blessed my soul and I'm sure it will help many. With each of your videos, I feel I'm getting to know you better and building a close bond with you. I look forward to your videos! You are very Strong, Wise, Mature and knowledgeable in your thought processes! I'm also very impressed with your English and the manner in which you express yourself! Thank you so much for sharing your thoughts and life with us! I support and appreciate you brother!!!!!
Thank you for leaving your truth, and choosing yourself moreover for sharing your story I'm inspired by it and that was so brave of you, and for your father to support and accept you for who you are is amazing and the fact that your whole family came through; I'm humbled by it.
Greetings from down under (Australia). Thank you for sharing your powerful story. It's so nice that your Mum understands that you're you and accepts you for who you are. When I came out to my Mum, she said don't tell anyone, not even my grandmother. Many years later, same sex marriage was legalised here in Australia. Not long after that happened, I met my now husband, to which my Mum loves my husband, and even did a reading at our wedding. She apologised for she what said to me when I came out, and she's happy that I met and married the man of my dreams! Thanks again for sharing and I enjoy your channel!
Thanks for sharing your story. It must have been very hard for you at the time. But as you said things worked out for the best. So happy for you even though I don't really know you. You seem like a very nice and genuine person. As you were telling your story I just wanted to reach through the screen and give you a big hug. LOL. Always enjoy your content and I'm looking forward to seeing more content from you in the future. Cheers.
Thank you for sharing your coming out story! Kudos to you for standing up to your family. I can out at 25, way back in the 1980s. It took my mother (who has since passed) a long time to accept me. It wasn't easy. Have patience with parents, they will come around. HAPPY PRIDE 🌈
Wow 🤩. I’m touched about your coming out. I’m Proud of you 🙏 you perfectly did the right thing. It’s good too that your Dad talked to your Mom. We’re the same, my Dad as well who accepted me first. Our relatives bullied me too. I left too & studied hard & successful . I migrated in U.S. & Canada. I’m very happy “ alone “ ( had 3 long terms lived-ins great partners ) Good luck & I’m a subscriber & enjoying your journey as an independent adult now. Take care 👍😜❤️🇨🇦
That was a truly great story Jon. Sharing the dynamics with your family during your coming out is incredible and heartwarming. I’m sure your story will connect with someone very important. You had a strong conviction of strength and bravery that is very profound and unique. Happy Pride Jon. Looking forward to your next video. ❤
Hi Jon, I’m so happy that I found your channel. You seem to be such a sweet and genuine man - love your story telling. Thank you for sharing your story. I’m so happy that your family is now supportive. Can’t wait to see your next video.
Thank you for your strength and vulnerability. I hope you realized the healing you provided for yourself and the oppressive thoughts of generational shackles passed down through your family. Also, that’s for revealing your culture and ethnicity as well. I’ve often wondered. Because I love how you roots show through your dialect and speak. It’s beautiful! P.E.A.C.E.
I admire your honesty and your bravery and the love you have for your family. I was encouraged by your story and I’m sure others will be too. I wish you nothing but happiness and success always.
I just discovered your channel. Like you I was raised in the Catholic faith. I now describe myself as a recovering catholic 😂. I don’t attend church anymore. I enjoyed hearing your story. I think it’s great that you took control of your life. It sounds like your family has slowly come to accept you for who you are. I don’t know if you enjoy reading but I would like to suggest a book written by Ocean Vuong. Its title is “ On Earth We’re All Briefly Gorgeous “. It’s a coming out story that also addresses the issues of Vietnamese families that immigrated to America. You are such a thoughtful young man and you are handsome too 🙂. Wish you the best in the future.
I am yet to come out despite of my age, 40s. Feeling shamed of myself. Having to grow up in a big asian family with many siblings, nieces and nephews, surprisingly, it gives me some pressures despite my parents are no longer around.
it can be easy when we say we want to, but it's hard when it comes to " doing it". Be proud and love yourself. everyone has a different clock and time. you still can do it when the time come :). Stay Strong🙌♥
Thank you for sharing, my story is hell. Well, sometimes we just don't get treated right, mostly by family. Very sad but true. I wish you all the best.
It is really hard when your family does not accept you. I was abused and bullied for my sexuality. When I was younger I attempted suicide. My family still continued the abuse and bullying. I had to just accept myself and move on.
Thanks for sharing your story. I have a very similar experience to you. From the Philippines, moved to Australia, came out to my parents and mum didn’t react well but dad was supportive. But I moved out and now me and mum are closer.
I think you did the tight thing by moving out, if you had stayed your mom would have been focused on changing you. I feel that you removing yourself gave her and you dad time to talk more and for them to make her see what she was doing. Glad it all worked and in the end and your a stronger person now
Thanks for sharing I really enjoyed your video and I believe the same I was born this way and God made me. You are a kind caring loving man I see that in you. I hope you find exactly what you want in a man , you are also good-looking and I love you smile and eyes. Stay sweet and honest 😊❤
Tradition and culture can be so toxic even for straight people. Why are we so fixated on marriage? Do people ever stop to think that marriage is not for everyone, straight or otherwise? I've seen so many straight guys married and I know for a fact they have no business being married. It's just a societal obligation. The worst is when I see guys I know are gay married to women. Society stinks. Truly sad.
Good morning and happy pride month 🎉❤ 🏳️🌈 Not everyone's coming out day was rainbow and sunshine. My mom did not accept me for me. The hardest thing was being with her when she passed away. And we never talked about me being gay or have closure. 😢 I hope she can see that I tried to be the best son to her. But I will never know.
American High Schools are scary places! No one is "open minded" in high school, it seems! You are very attractive, and I hope and pray that you focus on finding a life partner!
