I made this cheese cake !❤❤❤❤❤❤ Thank you !! Baked it at 325 in my electric convection oven for 1 hour 20 minutes .. turned off the oven , released a bit of heat for 5 minutes , then let it set for 1 hour .. I did not have a pan large enough to hold my cheese cake round pan .. I baked it without the water . I did wrap the pan with heavy aluminum foil . My cheese cake is the best one that I have ever baked ! I love you my Preppy Chef ! Thank you so much !

Senior widow here, I've been making show stopping cheesecakes for many years. They make wonderful gifts for the holidays. I take parchment paper just to line the bottom of the pan and then put the pan together, leaving some of the parchment paper hanging outside of the pan. When you're ready to transfer the cake to your cake stand or cake box the cake will glide off the parchment paper so easily and I've never had the sides stick to the pan. God bless everyone and your families and furbabies.

Not your ordinary cheesecake 😋 pour half of the mixture into the pan on top add a can of cherry pie filling add the rest of the cheesecake mixture. After it has cooled add gnash on top an let drip over the sides. So beautiful when it's cut

Hey y’all, I made this yesterday. Added the ganache and chopped mini pb cups today. It baked perfectly in the bain marie - beautifully flat and smooth on top. I sliced it into 14 fabulous servings. I make cheesecakes often, this is my first peanut butter one. Reese’s PB Cups are my go-to candy and I was going to make a cheesecake for TG. Thanks John for another great recipe. This is a showstopper. It will be fun to show up with it tomorrow! 😎

Made this for our youngest daughter to take to her boyfriend's Thanksgiving dinner. I was told it was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! I'm making 4 more this week for Christmas for my supervisor's and one for the office peeps! I used a piece of parchment paper on the bottom of the springform pan and attached the pan around it and then lightly sprayed the pan with Pam. The pan releases nicely after it sets and you just pull the parchment paper back from the bottom when transferring it to a plate.

Also, add 1 Tab. of flour to the crumb mixture. It will make it more stable and less likely to crumble when you're forming the crust. (I learned that from America's Test Kitchen, and it does make a difference I've found with these types of crusts.)

First off, great recipe. First time I've ever made cheesecake, and it came out very nice. I followed the recipe and instructions exactly. A few tips from a first timer: the water bath. Even though I double wrapped the spring form, water still leaked in a bit. I thought for sure my crust was going to be ruined, because I saw some cookie dust in the water after I took the pan out of the oven. I would air on the side of caution and just put a separate pan under the cake on a lower rack, will probably get the same exact result. Also, the cream cheese really stands out, the peanut butter not so much. Might I suggest lowering the cheesecake down a full 8 ounces and adding at least another 1/2 cup of peanut butter. Other than those 2 things, this was fantastic. I now know how to make cheesecake. Thanks!

I was a major hero on Thanksgiving with this recipe! Absolutely the most outstanding cheesecake we've ever had (and we've had alotta cheesecake!) I was thinking perhaps if one would substitute the peanut butter for Nutella, it would be awesome, too.

How do you store this after it’s cooked in the oven and you want to have it cool down overnight? Like, how do you package it to be in the fridge? I want to make this for a holiday party and want to make sure I do everything correctly! Thank you!☺️

Use salt with vinegar to clean your copper pot. Old trick my grandma taught me. She grew up a farmers daughter and farmers wife during the depression. Used this method to clean copper bottom pans all the time.

Great video John, I ADORE cheesecake. Makes me ashamed of myself for avoiding them as a kid because I wasn’t a fan of cream cheese back then.
But when I started baking, you wouldn’t believe how scared I was of the Water bath, I was always fearful that water would seep inside from the bottom, so I found an alternative on the internet, and that’s to fill a medium bowl with water and put a rack below your cheesecake. As long as the oven remains humid, you don’t need need to directly submerge your cheesecake in a water bath.

Hi and I made this Cheesecake just before thanksgiving. Followed the recip Exact accept I made it Late at night and I allowed it to cool overnight outside the refrigerator Comma it looked beautiful.so I preceded to put the ganache on which came out perfect also and I got excited and put the Peanut butter cup pieces on top of it then put it in the refrigerator , it was too heavy and collapsed a little on the sides🫠 But it tasted delicious And after we ate the collapse sides it looked perfect. For me I think the reese's pieces took away from the delicious light taste of the cheesecake . I am also diabetic and substituted as much sugar with monk sugar. I could not tell the difference and neither could anybody else.love this recipe and i'm making it again today Thank you so much for the great directions love this recipe

Made this for my mum's birthday two days ago and it was the best cheesecake I have ever eaten. It is soft, creamy and really does melt in your mouth. The only disappointing thing about this cake is that we can only eat small slices at a time because it is so rich 😊 We did not add Reeses cups as we thought it would be too sweet (the cake is still super delicious without it); also we made our ganache with Lindt chocolate because cooking chocolate in South Africa is awful. Thank you, John for this decadent cake.

Just made this, exactly per the recipe, except I used a solid pan rather than a springform (line the bottom and sides with parchment, held in place with just a little melted butter; when you're ready to demold, put the pan into hot water for a minute or so, then invert onto one plate, invert again onto another). Came out perfectly. Think I'll add just a little salt to the crust next time.
