Well race cars is only run on a very smooth asphalt surface so a spacer wouldn't affecting their reliability, for me if a wrc cars have spacers then i will use it on my daily
Yes, quality, vehicle specific spacers are great. Correct install required too! Low quality? I don't recommend at all. As with most cheap things, they'll probably break or fail. But in this case, it's something affecting the wheel of your car. So going cheap on these could have potentially extreme, and maybe even deadly consequences.
I’ve been running spacers on my 92 F150 since I’ve gotten it and haven’t had an issue at all. I’ve taken it on long road trips and it was a daily until I recently got a Fiesta
@@jonnyhalo1041f you install correctly and they aren’t over 50mm no real need to retorque. If you are that paranoid, drive 5 miles after install and retorque them again. Granted during install on anything over 30 mm I started using thread locker blue removable(i heard some use permanent) just so my brain can stop being so pu**y.
That was my issue running 17x8 et45 OZ rallt wheels on my 95 lancer: needed 7mm slip ons and also extended studs... all because OZ doesn't make a lower offset in 17 for the wheel. That said, slip ons over Bolt on adapters any day.
Bought a new doughnut wheel and skinny tire as spare for my new 2024 Civic Type R (which only had the totally ridiculous inflator kit), swapped it to the right front to check it out. With the large Brembo calipers I was worried but it had about the same clearance as the stock wheel - good. Took it out for a check ride and found it had huge torque steer to the left under power and to the right under braking. Well, as a spare that I may never use I'm not concerned. Why the torque steer? Well, the scrub radius went from almost zero to about 50mm (my approximation). So, watch out for the spacers and low offset wheels on your FWD cars. They look cool, to some, but can have really sour handling characteristics.
I've had 2" spacers on my failblazer for about a year now. They've worked great for me. Of course I bought hub centric ones, and used lock tight and torqued to spec. But I've had no issue at all.
