Why do some dahlias have their leaves curl under? They aren't droopy or leggy and I keep them evenly watered in a 72 degree room with a fan for airflow. I use a mars hydro tsl2000 dimmed at about 55% and 30" away from plant bottoms. I have some that are beautiful and then others that are dark green but with leaves curling as well as some that have leaves that seem too light colored. Could it be the stress of being close to other plants and being jostled during watering? They've grown much bigger than expected even though I followed what the seed packet said as far as time to sow.
My dahlias are tall, leggy and thin, I grew them in a seedling tray, they look nothing like your dahlias, should I have transplanted them into a bigger pot & pinched them?
I wish I could grow my dahlia seeds like yours. They look very healthy. Mine are always stemy and stretched out. I grow them in grow lights with a fan for circulation. What's your secret? Thank you
Just discovered your channel. Great video! I'm having am issue with the seed leaves going mushy before the true leaves fully emerge. Am I overwatering?
Thank you! Here is one of the videos for how those where grown th-cam.com/video/A9uSPHFNU68/w-d-xo.html I did a lot of dahlia videos on my channel if you go to my main channel page and search dahlia it will bring up all of the dahlia videos that I did.
Hi, It depends on the variety of dahlias that you would be growing for how long they take to bloom, what food they are being feed can affect when they will bloom too. I hope that helps you.
I did a playlist on this titled how to grow dahlias from seed to bloom.
Thanks
Your welcome! Thank you for watching and Happy Gardening! Carrie
Yours look amazing. Very thick and leafy and stout... maybe it is the variety but mine are longer and not at all as stout 😅
Thank you! Are you growing them close to a growing light?

Update: I take them outside now during the day and they are all green and thriving now. I assume the extra air flow and real sunlight helped.

Thank you. I keep the light close to the seedlings and I use sunshine fluorescent light bulbs or LED lights. I hope that helps you.

Thank you! They may be getting overwatered. Keep your seed starting mix moist but not soggy.
I have dahlia seedlings I have hardened off outside already (live in a 9B zone). Can I skip this process and just plant into a gardening box or pot?
If they are used to being outside already then yes you should be able to plant them where you want them.
In my zone 8 I can leave the equalize in the groun
Do you have a video that shows how to propagate dahlia seeds?
Yes I do have videos for starting dahlias from seed they are on my channel.
Wow!! Youre put mine to shame, how did yiu grow them? I side under lights ,outside or what? What potting medium? They look so good

Hi dahlia seed plant can grow tuber.
Yes, they do.
Hi when do I fertilize once the seeds germinate?
When first true leaves appear. Make sure to dilute the mixture so you don't burn the seedlings.
