- Mount Meru in Tanzania can be climbed in 3 or 4 days. It is the perfect hike to push yourself or to help acclimatize for a future Kilimanjaro hike! I brought you around each day I hiked mount Meru and loved showing the different animals, distances, and answered questions I wish I knew prior to the climb.

Thanks for bringing us along on your video! Incredibly cool!!!!
Hi, I'm so glad to have found this video. Im hoping to do. Meru/Kili hike in december of this year and i have a few questions about your experience? Did you wash some of your clothes on the day in between and if so how? Also I'd love to know what you packed clothes wise and what you wore on Meru vs Kili. I understand Meru descent is quite steep and hard on the knees; did you experience that at all? Were you tired when you first started Kili? Sorry so many questions, i'm sure i have lots more. Hope you don't mind. Looking foreard tp your response. Thanks!
Hi my name is tariq I'm a mountain guide on kilimanjaro mount meru is actually the 3 highest mountain in Tanzania the 2 is mount mawenzi the one next next to kilimanjaro
Hi there, thanks for putting the video together, much appreciated! If you have a moment, I have a couple of questions to ask regarding Meru.
I am planning a Kili trip this coming Sept and was planning to acclimatize on Meru prior to. My plan is to only do day hikes starting from Momella Gate and then return to Arusha to sleep.
1) Can I enter through Momella Gate and obtain a day pass?
2) Is it mandatory to have a guide for a day hike up toward Miriakamba Hut?
3) Do you know if you can ride a motorbike up the service road to Kitoto viewpoint. Is this road public or just for Park Staff?
Thank-you, Glenn
Hi Glen, I also stayed in arusha. It is mandatory to use a guide so I couldn't answer the permit process as they did it for me. But we got it at the trailhead. I know they drove trucks up so I'm sure a motorcycle is good. That first day was really cool though so I'd recommend it! I don't remember it being very expensive but I can put you in contact with the guide I used.
Hi Laura, thanks for the reply. Yes, can you forward the name and of your guide to me please. Thank-you. Glenn

Potentially climbing Meru in August! What guide company did you use? Did you feel safe as a single woman?
Beautiful summit! You have such an amazing smile and presence on the camera! Are you a public speaker or spoke in church by chance?
Thank you so much! No public speaking experience:)
Aghh wikid. Good on you. I’m going next week but doing the other way round. Maybe I’m overthinking this but how technical is the summit?
More technical than kilimanjaro. It has chains though the entire technical section. You'll use your hands but should be just fine still!
Thanks Laura - how many people were in your group?
It was only me with the guide but we hiked the whole time with others doing the same schedule as us so about 6 until the final summit day
@@LauraLeanne Super, that sounds very pleasant. Cheers Laura
did you hike it alone? do they charge the park fee each 24h?
I answer these questions in the video. You're never allowed to hike this alone. There are gates during the drive in. You will negotiate with a company prior for what you will pay for the entire expedition.
@@LauraLeanne I actually scrolled back and tried to get the reply I didn’t find, I was watching it falling asleep maybe I missed.
Thank you 😊
Seriously, that was everything I need to know about hiking Mount Meru? Cause I'd say I still got tons of questions after watching this video... But hey, it's TH-cam, it's XXI century, you have right to name your video however you like, it doesn't have to do anything with reality or facts...
I'll make sure to make a 7 hour long video next time to include every detail then.
So 7 hours instead of just 9 minutes, of watching you smile? Damn I'd love it, cause your smile is cute...just not very informative... Or maybe how about addressing some silly stuff like:
How much does it cost?
Do you need a guide or can you do it on your own?
What's the best time of the year to do it?
What's the weather, temperature like?
You know, some basic facts that people would like/should(but sure as hell don't NEED) to know...
I found the video incredibly informative!!
What company did you book with
Ig handle is User name sambhhhu and I went through him
@@LauraLeanne thank you!!!
Cool video Laura, thanks for sharing 🏞️🏔️🌄 :)
You are very welcome!
