    What happened to the silver radio bezel and shifter surround that come on Mach 1’s?

    I wish the s197 had mid mounted muffler system. My 12 has Kooks and Magnaflow Comps and while it sounds ok, it doesn’t compare to my 2V/4V with Borla or Bassani.

      There's something about a 4v with Bassani exhaust that creates chill bumps. I love that setup

    If it truly has factory 355 gear you need a gear badly especially when you get It tuned good and start revving to over 7500 rpm (you should be revving over that with a boss) that t56 has long gearing and a long first for an na setup you need 456 gears imo. If you shift at 7800 you could reach 132 mph at top of 4th gear (with a 26 inch tire) so you won't run out of gear na. That is the gear I'd go with. Super easy to calibrate speedo with those within the tune. That's a sweet car. I have a black 97 cobra I'm gonna swap but I'm gonna take mine further than the typical coyote swap you see...most guys do your setup which isn't bad I'm just doing a more involved setup gen 2 coyote with aftermarket cams and ported gen 2 cobra jet manifold. I'm gonna shift at 8000+ and I'm going with 456 gears. I think I'm gonna run a tkx 5 speed because it's lighter cheaper and easier to install vs t56 magnum and it's plenty for what I'm gonna do. I want over 500 rwhp on e85 shouldn't have an issue. 340 in tank pump and 47# injectors should be good for e85 with that na setup. It's gonna be a corner carver. Your setup is a good budget setup.

      Yea, as far as I know it's still factory 3.55 gearing. You can definitely tell it needs a 4.10 at the very least. 3rd gear takes 2 lifetimes to fully ring out to 7k. And Gen 2 is the way to go.

      That’s gonna be a nasty set up! I remember wanting to coyote swap my 96 cobra back in 2016 but after seeing everyone do it, I just decided to stick with the original b-head motor and work with that. Yes I know b-heads lack intake options but I will be doing a ported short runner for now, and having a company make me a custom intake with velocity stacks! My engine will be running mid compression on some boost with a vortech ysi-b blower, i will also be spinning the motor to over 8,000+rpm and it will also be a road race car, already ordered a bunch of maximum motorsports suspension components as I will be going with full maximum motorsports suspension front to back, my plan is to basically make 1000whp, make it a corner carver, sequential 6spd trans street car..all while still retaining the b-head 4.6 motor in it

    How about rebuilding stock 4 valve, same K member, same wiring, ac, etc etc. Just a thought..

    • @OctaneSlain
      @OctaneSlain  12 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I bought this car as an unfinished swap. BUT if I were to do this with the original blown up 4v, I would still choose to do a Coyote swap versus the 4v rebuild...
      My reasonings:
      - I would go with a Gen 2 Coyote. They are capable of making 1000whp on the stock internals. The 4v would need a fully forged rotating assembly to make that kind of power. The cost factor of that type of rebuild skyrockets the cost of the 4v - parts, machine work, etc.
      - The Gen 2 heads are cast versions the Boss 302 "Road Runner" heads and they flow amazing out of the box. The 4v heads would need port work to match the airflow the Gen 2 heads are capable of.
      - The Gen 2 is much more fuel efficient versus the 4v. The VVT really is a game changer when it comes to on the fly cam profile adjustments. Efficient when you need it, aggressive when you need it.
      - Depending on whether the Mach 1 was an automatic or manual, you only get the forged crankshafts with the manual Mach 1s. Coyotes ALL have forged crankshafts. The automatic Machs were paired with cast cranks.
      - The stock Mach 1 k-member can be used with the Coyote, it's just easier to swap to tubular when you're pulling the engine out regardless.
      - All essential existing Mach 1 wiring harness is re-used. You just remove the harness and send it out to Lethal Nate. You tell him exactly what you are reusing (a/c, alternator, etc) and he will accommodate the harness as necessary. Then if you're using the PBH control pack harness, they send you a barebones harness meant to run the Coyote. Only thing you need to do under the dash is add your OBDII port. Lethal Nate can also tie into the control pack harness with the Mach 1 harness so you don't have to troubleshoot any of the wiring. But doing it yourself still isn't that difficult. I had to finish some loose ends on this car as well, like wiring up the OSS to the Coyote PCM. Seems intimidating, but with the right diagrams, it's fairly painless. I despise wiring and I still managed to do it.
      - I am reusing ALL of the original Mach 1 accessories - A/C, alternator, power steering, hydroboost, etc. It all bolts up to the Coyote relatively easy. Just need to fab up your own brackets or buy pre-made brackets from PBH. This is about as rough as it'll get for the swap. UNLESS you buy all of PBH accessories brackets and alternator relocation kit. Then it is basically painless and a direct bolt in swap.
      I'm not knocking the original 4v, but the room and potential to grow is much more exponential with any Coyote gen swap.

    Your car has the “IUP” or “Interior Upgrade Package” headrests but you are missing the silver painted trim pieces that go around the radio/hvac and the shifter. Looks like someone replaced them with normal charcoal black trim. The trim you added (from the ‘01 Bullitt) around the shifter is actually supposed to already be in the Mach 1. All 2003/2004 Mach 1’s have that trim around the shifter as well as the pedals from the Bullitt and the shift knob from the Bullitt. The sail panels on the Mach 1’s were also taken from the 2001 Bullitt. I definitely have to disagree with your assessment about it taking a lot to make these interiors look good. The idea that the SN95 interior doesn’t “look good” never made any sense to me. Folks always complain about the “plastic” in the interior but these interiors always looked good to my eye. If I wanted an interior trimmed in goat’s milk massaged Italian leather harvested from a baby calf before it even hit the ground I’d have to save over $90,000 and buy a foreign brand. 😂 No thanks! The “dual cowl” look of these interiors has aged pretty well through the years IMO. They clean up nice inside, the interior is very durable and the seats from 99-04 are FAR nicer than the ones from 94-98. The New Edge interior is a really nice place to be. I have two 2004 Mach 1’s, one all stock in Azure Blue (128k miles) and the other entirely modified in Torch Red (66k miles, dyno’d at 717rwhp/663tq). Love these cars and I’d love to have a Comp Orange Mach 1, that would be cool. That said I’ll actually be looking for either a 2001 Bullitt in DHG or a 2001 Cobra. Congrats on the new Mach! Great rides that are becoming less and less all the time. Soon the New Edge will be a sought after classic. The time to get one is yesterday 😂

      Thanks for detailed information! And the interior has always been a major complaint of mine with SN-95s in general. I actually prefer the look of the fox bodies interior more. It's something about the creaking, giant plastic interior door handles, the shifter placement, the god awful looking steering wheel, and the center console design. I don't mind the plastics, I just hate the shapes of everything. The double bubble design is cool, but it's just kinda overshadowed by all the panel gaps, creaking plastics, and that diaper looking steering wheel. The S197 definitely took things in the right direction. Yea, cheap plastics, but the overall look and layout is MUCH better.
      I will say, for the era, the SN-95 has a better interior than the 4th gen F-bodies of the time, but I also hated those interiors too. I just don't like interiors were you're in constant fear something is going to break or crack basically lol.

    What's up with the excessive cowl hood? Does it have a hi rise intake or something?

    • @joelsavage8254
      @joelsavage8254 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      It would look a lot better with the original Shaker...

      @joelsavage8254 100% I love the car but that hood never went with the new edge or sn95. Our engines don't pop up like Chevy engines

      Did you even watch the video? He clearly states he hates the hood and it's only on there to clear the Boss 302 intake manifold which is a high runner manifold... 🤦🏼‍♂️

      @ranware9071 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @terrymorris415 umm durrrrrr I watched it. Yea I wrote what I did way before the video took off or even hit one sec. 🤣 if this was that much of an insult or whatever you're on. The owner of the channel would have had a big problem. This is the free world. I didn't tell him ewww get that ugly pos out of here. I commented about the hood because I own 3 1 sn95 4v swap and 2 new edge mustang gt's. Try again buddy

      @terrymorris415 it doesn't take a 4inch cowl clown 🤣 especially to clear a coyote setup. This guy thought he actually did something
