Whoever has been editing out the breaks that have so much screaming: Thank you so much! I fall asleep to these, and it would always wake me up unpleasantly.
Yeah, it’s a great change. The break montages were a bit too high energy for my taste, not a fan of these sharply edited videos. Playing these on background usually involves dropping what I’m doing to skip the break.
I love that in a 4 hour stream about Warhammer what takes the title and thumbnail is Tom burying every nerd by saying a notable Star Trek episode is average.
The part about Inner Light I always found funny, is how Picard is just right back at work. The dude haven't functioned as a captain for like 40 years. He barely remember people's names and is amazed by the automated door. I work in health care... I'm qualified to give you a shot of medicine... If I'm out of that work for just a year, I have to re-qualify. There's no fucking way Picard would be allowed to stay on that ship, if in his mind, he hasn't had anything to do with the kind of work he used to do, for that many years :P
That only really becomes apparent with the context of modern TV when all storytelling is serialised. At the time it was understood that TNG is an episodic show, not a serial drama. There was no reason to expect events from each episode to carry over unless it's a two parter. Sometimes TNG did that, but it was an occasional exception, not the rule.
I love how angry Tom looked at just thinking about the poke ball, I mean you have to appreciate the sheer anger in those eye brows. On the other hand angry beard wobble is just the best.
i swear to god the first time tom mentioned Star Trek, the inner light about a week ago, is also the first time i've ever watched star trek and it WAS the Inner light episode! very weird tom and I just started binge watching Star Trek! Literally watched it a day before Tom talked about it, absolutely wild!
I've a suggestion for a sophisticated Tom & Ben After Dark branded aroma! There's this stuff in the sports fishing world known as "bait smoke" that I believe would make a _perfect_ Goblin Breeding Pile scent.
the best show i have seen do the whole "Have a family and then wake up from it" thing is actually Adventure Time but you have to watch the show pretty regular to really grasp it to the best of its ability.
don't entirely agree with the thing about nostalgia causing people to think Inner Light is great, I watched TNG for the first time a few months ago and Inner Light was one of my two favourite episodes (the other being darmok)
I love how Tom and Ben were foiled in their Warhammer quiz by the crappy phonetics of the English language. Like, in literally any other language (except perhaps French) they could’ve done well, but because English does weird stuff like having E make an I sound (which tripped Ben up multiple times, like with Biel-tan), they knew the answers without being able to put them to paper.
This is going to tear me apart; can someone tell me what the music at 2:03:29 in the background is? I definitely know it but can't find it anywhere and it's killing me
It's generic twitch music they use for most of their streams that closely resembles but is not quite popular movie and tv soundtracks. Two being Doctor Who and in this case the Avengers theme.
Tom, his eyes closed. 😝 The acting in The Inner Light was superb in my opinion, but to each their own. I would understand having an issue with how the episode and character reaction were written, but that's on the writing. Still, to compare it to what Rick and Morty did with the concept is not an apples to apples comparison. Their character was violently ripped from their life where Picard's character lived a full life and died knowing what was coming. Either way, I don't expect anyone watching TNG for the first time now to have the same reaction as I did when I watched the show as it aired. It's nice when there is mutual appreciation, but if it's not someone's thing, then it's not their thing. Like collecting dice, painting little models, or playing pixel art indy games and city builders. 😝😅 Tom's takes on TNG are still awesome because he loves the dumbest shit about the show and that makes me appreciate those shit episodes even more.
it's just a little old by now, if it were to be filmed next week i bet it would be very different, the flute thing at the end, was the only connection he had to his "previous life" etc
Really dont get the hate for Battlesector mind you, Im quite enjoying it myself (though the missions do get a smidge repetitive (some more factions would do wonders for spicing things up)
As someone blessed with the appearance of a blonde Data, to the extent of acquiring it as a university nick-name(being a bit of an aspie-coder didn't help), I approve of this instalment of Tob and Nem!
50:58 I actually think the one on the left is way more ogre-y and just as pirate-y as the right, hes got a better beard, a better pose and a better coat. Ide give him the hat and parrot from the right model though
The same people that would pay to see a Lion fight a Bear in the 1800s is the type of person that would spend hundreds of Euros on pieces of plastic shaped like tiny men, today.
Thank God Tom stands his ground on IL being overhyped. The nerd claiming it's the best Tv episode of all time was actually hilarious, it's not even the best TNG episode. Trekkies are the progenitor of today's Rick and Morty fans.
lol I had to laugh at the nerd rage over 'The Inner Light'... best episode of Television ever???? Wow. Just no. Speaking as a massive trekkie super fan who can pretty much recite most of TNG and DS9 from memory Ive watched them all so many times... Ben was absolutely right. Inner Light is a very good episode but its a long way from the best TV episode of all time, its not even close to the best episode of all of Star Trek, or even Best Episode of TNG. Hell Id probably only say its in the top 5 episodes of SEASON 5. Again Im not trashing it by any means but come on guys give the friggin hyperbole a rest this is why people think we Trekkies are all borderline socipathic :P
He's absorbed Da Gobbo's partisan-powers, _Highlander-style._ There's a reason why he tries to lowkey stop Ben from investigating why GW dropped that storybeat.
i can assure you he is a slight shade of pale blue like all other british people that don't see enough sun, that is just a filter by the studio, to convince you he is not a zombie
1:00:35 Oh Ben, we all know why. Lets just say, those who usually cry about cancel culture don't really care when stuff they didn't like gets canceled. I mean if you were a shit company like GW in a semi-facist world, you wouldn't want a thing that actively reminds your customers you screw them and they are all gobbos who could unite and actually force your company to not be so anti-customer.
Omg comparing a shown like god dam stupid show like rick and morty to an amazing show like star trek wow the mind of Tom lol. But I do agree its not the best episode ever made, however the inner lite is one of the best STAR TREK episodes ever in the top 10, that's more reasonable.
Whoever has been editing out the breaks that have so much screaming: Thank you so much! I fall asleep to these, and it would always wake me up unpleasantly.

a thousand wailing high pitched zoomer-fodder voices uplifted in cringey ecstasy when all i want is the warm, buttery comfort of tom and ben
so im not the only one who uses the soft warm tones of tom and ben to sleep, thats a relief
Same, legit got woken up by Simon's or Martin's screaming numerous times.
Couldn’t agree more!
I suddenly noticed they've edited out the breaks.
I love you, editor.
I love how playing games is slowly being pushed out of Tom and Ben streams by the talks beforehand 🤣
It’s what i come for tbh. Could listen to Tom and Ben chat shit all day.
@@ArCSelkie37 same here haha it's nice and relaxing good to have in the background whilst doing other things
It's basically a Tom and Ben podcast
best part imo
I just love the stress and anger they have from failing at Warhammer
Prophet of the people!
I love that in a 4 hour stream about Warhammer what takes the title and thumbnail is Tom burying every nerd by saying a notable Star Trek episode is average.
There are a lot more people who agree that Inner Light is overhyped than widespread belief would imply.
The way the chat talks about TNG is the way Tom and Ben talk about oldhammer.
1:14:18 start of star trek talk
The best/worst part about that quiz is how anal it is about the spelling of made-up nonsense names but then goes on to misspell "panoply".
The part about Inner Light I always found funny, is how Picard is just right back at work. The dude haven't functioned as a captain for like 40 years. He barely remember people's names and is amazed by the automated door.

I love that the spelling quiz couldn't spell the name right on one of the answers.
That quiz gave me flashbacks to when I had a few college classes with equally terribly written automated tests.
"Your answer: A"
"Correct answer: A"
I would legit watch tom and ben talk about holly oaks for at least another 20-,30 minutes
Tom complaining about people Complaining, on a show where most of what they do is complaining.
Tom is master of his art
I love how angry Tom looked at just thinking about the poke ball, I mean you have to appreciate the sheer anger in those eye brows. On the other hand angry beard wobble is just the best.
I love the troy and abed in the morning vibe of these videos
Harry looks different
I don't get what Harry did, but he looks very generic
@A B sing the battle boys song with the homeless dude

For anyone wondering, the Arctic is called that because the constellation Ursa Major is always visible in the northern polar sky.
I would happily buy a berry milk candle
you can't convince me that the first draft of taglines for the Slaanesh candles didn't read "Scent of Debauchery" instead of "Delusion"...
If it's not literal coagulated cum with a wick in it, it's false advertising.

the Flute tangent was incredible
Thanks for giving me the nerd voice Tom. :D This is the best episode of Tom & Ben ever! *clap clap*

Yes, I still use a real calendar, nice to have physical stuff to actually write notes down on
I much prefer Ben-as-Harry than Harry-as-Ben.
I wish the old vod with commrnts was still here
2 and a half hours of pre game chat. Hell yeah

Anyone know the mod they used to play Lamenters in DOW2? and if their is a black templar version?
I haven't been able to find them playing Dawn of War 2 in any other stream is this the only one?
Spider boys would make a cool genestealer unit
Ben won the quiz, spelling aside I think he got 14 points.

Wow, Harry looks weirdly generic since he came back from the hair salon. Such a shame, his luscious locks were so pretty!
sAVAGE rOAST was Amazing!
Ben complaining about the made up names not being spelled phonetically when he neither reads nor writes anything phonetically himself cracked me up
Really dont get the hate for Battlesector mind you, Im quite enjoying it myself (though the missions do get a smidge repetitive (some more factions would do wonders for spicing things up)
Was hoping for Sekiro but Dawn of War is alright
Season 3 of The Orville anyone... anyone... just me ok.

You'd expect Ben to be able to spell better as a book nerd.
Tom Doesn't Understand Good Acting! - Warhammer + Star Trek and more! w/ Tom & Harry - 3/11/21
