Come and join me as I return to a location I shot before, my second vlog!
So what's the backstory behind this video?
Well, I’m a Landscape photographer, based in the UK, searching for interesting locations, mainly around the UK, but also travelling further afield. I endeavour to make all of my videos as interesting as possible, with editing skills I've picked up over the years, also with adding music to match the mood of the locations and images. Using a basic set up, consisting of my DJI Osmo Action, my Mavic Pro Drone (although not all the time) and either my trusty Nikon D850 or my Nikon D7200 cameras, for the images.
I always show my images, no matter how unhappy I am with them, I think you as the viewer deserve to see the good along with the bad, after all, if it’s on the video, you've already seen behind the scenes.
So sit back, grab a coffee or a tea, relax and enjoy my slightly unprofessional, sometimes comical, but always crammed with passion video.
Don’t forget to Like, Subscribe and leave a comment, they always let me know that creating this material is being watched and appreciated.

Top images mate, Talacre, Gronnant & Prestatyn, childhood caravan holiday,s on a Crosville bus. Pre motorway, pre dual carriageway. Used to stop at a half way house,(pub), the adult,s away for an hour, driver half cut, kid,s pop & crisps. More innocent, simple day,s, a week in a caravan, great fun.

Thank you so much Steve, as always, really appreciated. Yeah, good wholesome fun, when beach holidays were more fun. My parents use to go into Wales as teenagers, pre motorway and some of the stories they tell, nobody would dare to do anymore.

    Stunning images as ever.
Never been to Talacre, but what a lovely place.
I cycled down to our local beach last week to get some sunrise shots. What a glorious morning.
They're on Instagram to look at if you've got 5 minutes.
    Really enjoyed the vlog.

I was there yesterday. The winds were 30mph+ and the tide was in. Had to use the dunes for shelter just to try and protect the camera from all the sand. Great shots in this vlog, well done

Thank you so much Graeme. It's a wild place but certainly worth it. Yeah the dunes are great for a bit of shelter and a way to recover a bit. Thanks again mate, all the best.

Well you learn something new everyday. Hailing from the Toun (town) of Ayr when I saw your title pop up in my feed I thought you had it wrong and it should have been Heads of Ayr. I was wrong, I had no idea there was another place in the UK with the name Ayr! Oh and excellent images btw.

Hi Ben. Just found you on here. I live a few miles away from Talacre, which peaked my interest on this video. Love to shoot in the North Wales area. Really enjoyed this and you are responsible for me spending too much time looking through your channel! Best subscribe I guess!

Really enjoyed watching that Ben, and it would appear that you enjoyed making it too! Top job. I fish Talacre beach quite often, particularly mid summer months, though I haven't yet ventured there without the rods and with my camera gear. I'll have to make an effort to do so this year! Can I ask, what are you using for a mic? Are you using a shotgun mic with windmuff? Whatever you're using it did a great job in those blustery conditions.

    • @BenMcDonaldPhotography
      @BenMcDonaldPhotography  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

Thank you so much Graham, head it was fun to make. I'm using a simple Rode mic attached to the camera with a windmuff, it did do a great job because it was wild there. Thanks for watching Graham and all the best.

Hi Ben , love this blog.We had a caravan close by a few years ago so know the area well.Feel the need to go back after seeing your images. I messaged you after seeing one of your earlier blogs regarding the L bracket on your Nikon.(hope you can recall). Can you offer any advice on how I can fit an L bracket(arca Swiss) to a Manfrotto 3 way head (RC2). I understand that some kind of converter may be necessary but have been unable to get any definitive advice. I know your blogs are not to instruct or advise but any help would be appreciated. Regards. Terry

Thank you so much Terry. With regards to the L bracket, mine is off a 3 legged thing tripod, which I use for travel. The Manfrotto is much more sturdy, so the best bet for me was to swap the head so I could use the L bracket, I never looked for a Manfrotto head with L bracket as this setup works for me. Sorry I know that's no help for you Terry, it just means I can got from each tripod with minimal fuss. Hope you manage to get it sorted and head back to Talacre, it's such a lovely place.

Amazing vlog Ben, your images are outstanding, your really did manage to capture the drama there! You have re-invigorated me to visit this location again, its been 13 years since my last visit! Thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much, that's great to hear that you're going to revisit. Yeah the drama and power of the wind was amazing, I seriously didn't think the sound would come out and have a pointless vlog. Thanks again mate, all the best.

Talacre is my goto place when I want to try something new with the camera as it's only 10 minutes drive from my house. Some great images Ben. The wind can be quite severe there during stormy conditions and the sand sometimes feels like needles piercing your skin, when it's like that. Glad you enjoyed your day at Talacre and some stunning shots to come away with

Thanks you so much Mike, wow, that's so convenient having the beach just 10 minutes way, I'd be there so often. Thanks again Mike, all the best.
