Just stumbled onto this review!! Thanks so much for the review of the airplane! Super happy to hear you enjoyed what we have done to make that airplane fly the way it does. Super precise but also gets wild when you put the sticks to the corners. Great job explaining what you were doing as well! Thank you again.
Andrew, Glad you found the video. Truly a pleasure to fly this plane. We're lucky to have a talent like yours making products like this Slick available. Keep up the great work! J
Well dang. You have gone and done it again. You found something else I want in my hanger. Nice job guys. Great flying, camera work and commentary. The RCVR gang did a great job covering the important information we needed to hear to help us make good purchases. 👍
Beautiful plane! I really love the color scheme on this thing. Everything looks so tight on it in the air. Also it's locked right in. You did an amazing job John. Flying it. Great job with the camera. Freddie and I totally agree with Dave. You go bigger. You're going to be even more in awe of your skills. Take care guys. Great job
Yeah, not much more to say, AJ planes are great. Their service is fantastic. Can't go wrong with any of them, plus if you're not exactly sure What you like give them a call They'll tell you what each airplane excels at.
I believe I'd try a 19x10 prop to lower the amps a little. If the plane is a little too fast, I'd take an inch off the pitch as well. AJ makes good stuff.
Hi, what is the total weight of this setup? I choise motor for my EF Slick74" and deciding between XPWR 32cc and the X7015-30cc. The SunnySky motor seems to heavy. But on the other hand, I already have not very good experience with the XPWR 30cc motor (very weak bearing seat)
Nice flights John. Is there a reason you don’t you set up the reverse thrust on your planes so you could avoid overrunning the runway end when landing too fast/too far?
Goes back to the days when I got my pilot's license. During a flight with an instructor, she had me do a maneuver and when the plane didn't do exactly what I wanted it to do, I looked over at her with a look on my face that probably said "now what?" Her response: "Fly the plane! What, do you think someone is coming here to save you? They're not." So when I do something that doesn't work the way it's supposed to work a little voice goes off in my head that says, "suck less." That's why I don't use gyros for 3D. It's why I don't use reverse thrust on planes that shouldn't need reverse thrust (and this one shouldn't). It's why I don't use mixes to do maneuvers if the plane should be able to do the maneuver based on the plane and pilot skill. Hope that makes sense.
@@RCVideoReviews I do understand, thanks for the full explanation. But in my case, it’s just a matter of “life insurance”. My field being quite short (and I mean it, like 50 meters long), I just don’t have a choice and use the RT when I need to, no matter wether it’s a 3D model, and it saved my planes for a couple of times (apart from go around of course). I don’t care flying scale if I can spare crashing my toy or doing some repair by just adding an easy, free and convenient non-scale feature, same goes with gyro, since my place is also generally windy.

So glad you liked it and got to give it a try! There’s something special about their airframes!

Thank you kindly

Right? S.o. M.a.n.y. M.o.d.e.l.s.
extreme flight, AJ, are one of the best airframes high performance aircraft for the last 20 years.

You're too kind Robert. Thank you :)
😃
Very nice John. A great maiden flight. Good job Dave and Freddie. You guys rock.
Thanks Mr. Bill :)
👍😃
Thanks for the great video Freddie!

Amen! The plane speaks for itself. Should be a great tool to continue developing skills.
Wow, that really flys nice!!
It does. I am seriously looking forward to spending more time with this plane.

Yeah, throttle curves work too. All kinds of ways to adjust. We actually talked about that in the T-Motor AM780 video.
Looks like a Very Good Model 👍
Great time to be in the hobby. Performance of these models is just off the charts.

LOVED this - I purchased mine yesterday! Can you share your battery placement? @RCVideoReviews?
The 3300's are placed so the rear of the battery is about even with the square section of reinforcement from the cowl area.

With the yaw test are you looking for it to just fall back over for the most part?
Straight down vs to either side.
LOWER!!
I do the best I can.
You are 15 years late for a review of a AJ slick, this planes are 99% perfect they are 3D airplanes.
I'm exactly on time and where I want to be. :)
