I've followed Tim's videos for a minute.. Keep in mind Tim is willing to go to some creative extremes to pursue his goals. Sleeping in homeless shelters, living out of cars etc.. But the reward to him is worth it in the end, some inspiration.
One of the hardest parts for me is the feeling of isolation, especially if you don't get close with any coworkers and you don't have a car to go into town.
💐Dear Tim, thank you for this video!! I’m a female POC & felt so stuck in my current situation, frustrated about how to GET OUT of this mess. The universe put your channel I my grasp. I’ve lived in my minivan 2019-2020 so I’m well equipped but will return to it permanently very soon. This video helped me to see the beauty of the forest, that it’s very much possible. Filled with gratitude for you this day💐
Awesome and inspirational. I’m in the final chapter of my years (63) and soooo want to do something fulfilling. Not being afraid of work Cool-jobs sounds like just the ticket out of boredom and drudgery.
Haha! Thanks Chris! I would love for this video to do well, there are so many people who I think could benefit from seasonal work who have still never heard of it.
Appreciate your videos & input very much! Been on the fence for trying this type of lifestyle, especially after Covid hit. It's easy to get stuck or trapped in the 9-5 hamster wheel. Hard for a lot of ppl to leave their basic comforts also. I'd like to make the jump once my debt is all paid off. Housing & food are usually the 2/3 biggest expenses for most ppl (along with transportation, which probably wouldn't be much of an issue either for seasonal work). Great to hear that most of these type of jobs cover that or take it out of your check. Keep the vids coming!
You should make some international videos talking more about your travels in other countries. I'd love to hear your advice for Mexico, Thailand, Philippines, etc. Thank you, sir!
Thank you so much for sharing this. I'm so glad that I stumbled upon this video. I've been thinking about what I want to do after I graduate college, I'm not set on a career, nor am I sure that a career is what I want. I've really wanted to travel, and this is the perfect opportunity. I'm so so excited to try this out!
I'm glad that I've come across this video Tim! You refreshed my memory about seasonal work and I'm super interested in traveling this summer. I remember your first videos about seasonal work too.
Tim, if I did this seasonal work, I'd have to put all my belongings into a local storage unit where I live, which would be fine. What I'd like to know is, what items would I need to have with me before setting off for a seasonal job location? Should I go ahead and purchase black, non-slip shoes? How about other items that I'd need to bring? Also, how would I secure things that are sensitive or valuable to me, like my laptop, and other items I'd like to take with me for documenting my experience and staying in contact with my family? Thank you for your advice.
New sub here today! This is 3rd vid I'm watching. 1st was about living at 41 without having kids, 2nd was a word on sobriety and boredom, and now this, travel and jobs whiles doing so. Liked, subbed, and lit that bell up. Thanks so much!!
Great content Tim! Very much needed people need that know how info. I spent years traveling while working a 9 to 5 and it was a battle you had to beg for 2 weeks off or put in a year for a week. I understand what its like to choose travel over a desk job. I have also left a position if it was taking up too much time but, I also know there are times when you need to put in that work so you can bounce and do you.
Yellowstone Club is insane. I loveed that ride from Bozeman to Big Sky. First time i seen Bald Eagles, the river that flows right long the road, the different animals that pop out on the road, all the green trees, and it looks even cooler when it's winter. The four season was the best part of living in montana
Coolworks flyers are great to post around homeless shelters, food pantries, and prisons. Many of these places welcome such people because they are aware such people are usually most in need of "touching grass"
Hey man. Thanks for the videos. I really enjoyed working at Bryce Canyon many years ago. I would've enjoyed Yosemite if I wasn't a dishwasher working till 3AM every night also during COVID. Where should I go next? Too many options...
I REALLY would like to do this! I'm in a bad living situation. The only thing I'm worried about is that I have a dog and I'm not sure if I'd be able to bring him along with me. 😔 I have no one to look after him while I travel.
Awesome video. My younger brother also worked an internship at the YMCA of the Rockies for 9 months and loved it! How are you traveling between your seasonal jobs here in the USA? Do you bus it, or rent a car, fly? Really interested!
I'm debating on going to Glacier this summer too! If I don't end up working there I will definitely come up and visit my friends there. It would be awesome if our paths crossed!
Hello Mr.Timothy and everyone ✌🏿💞.I absolutely loved this Video so Inspiring and Informative. Omg been Watching the Show Big Sky based around Montana and thought about you. Keep up the good Videos....Yessss👊🏿
I’m getting my debt payed and thinking about doing seasonal jobs ! What is the best place in your opinion to travel to in the winter season ? And how hard is it to first live in. Dorm room ?
Hey Tim 😊 I just found your channel today... just wanted to ask you... so you started travelling with $1200 but how did you afford to buy the plane tickets to the different countries you were traveling to? Like the Philippines and Mexico etc ? Did you ever feel like you were going to run out of money ?
I saved my money while working seasonal jobs to buy my plane tickets to travel. And I did have a few side hustles online that made me some travel money too. If I ever thought I was going to run out of money I just went to another seasonal job and maybe worked a longer season.
Question, when you are provided housing and meals, is that contingent on working full-time (40 hours)? Or is it possible to do seasonal work but part time (like 25 hours?) and still get the housing and meal benefits? Do u work 7 days a week or have the option to work 3 days a week? Also, what about transportation? Say you are working in a national park for 3 months but also want to explore places outside of the park on your free days. Is there a shuttle or bus that is provided for you? What has your experience been? Thank you!
The meals aren't contingent on you working 40 hours every week, but most positions are full time, with a standard 2 days off a week. The transportation depends on the property and location. Some national parks have really a good shuttle system some don't. Occasionally, the seasonal employer might have buses that take employees around the area, into town, etc. but this more the exception than the rule.
I’ve been interested in working on a cargo ship: no booze, daily routine, no place to waste your earnings except the occasional port of call, but that’s “travel.”
@@TimothyWard It's definitely hard there's so many amazing places to choose from! I've been watching your videos for a while and I'm headed out to yellowstone in may. Thanks for all the help and advice with your videos you're the man!
How does it typically work regarding having a "home base" to stay between jobs, store items that you don't need to take to a specific job, have a permanent address, etc.?
I usually just rent a room in a house somewhere and use that as my home base. So I can leave any of my stuff I won't be needing there and I can use the address there to receive mail.
So what happens after a CoolWorks gig is coming to an end? Do they have a program that helps transfer you to the next gig or go home? Or are you just left on your own with no job and no place to stay, having to figure it out alone?
Yeah, there’s no program to help you transfer. You have to find your next job on your own. Plan Ahead and save money, it’s not hard to find your next gig!
Tim is the Crown Prince of Positivity and a guru of seasonal work and frugal travel!
I wear many hats an crowns David 😂🤣😂

You're awesome man, please don't stop. I have been wanting to quit my job for quite some time now and this sounds very feasible for me

I didn't have any issues in Alaska. I think any city you want to visit in Alaska will be cool

Hey Tim . Did you still have to do your taxes from seasonal jobs ?
Yes, you always have to do your taxes 😂. But it’s not that hard. They will send you a W2 just like a regular job.
