Well played Zanny that was masterfully fought For anyone still struggling with radahn I wanted to post some general advice that I found helped me a lot in his fight 1. The timings for combos between phase 1 and phase 2 are basically identical so if you can master his move set in phase 1 you can demolish him in phase 2 just watch the position of his arms before he launches an attack as that’s the most clear indicator I found to determine when his combo ends 2. Do (not) run away. Radahn has a lot of reach and is hyper aggressive so panic rolling/running away from him is guaranteed to fuck you over 3. Try not to summon while learning the boss. One of the biggest issues I’ve seen people have is the boss switching targets mid combo which causes them to get blindsided and panic since they haven’t learned the move set so for the first few learner runs try and go in solo to get a feel for his timings and combos before bringing in summons if you want/need the extra dps and someone else to take aggro for you 4. Violate Radahn’s personal space harder than miquella already has. Sticking close to Radahn’s right leg and groin specifically seems to not only bait out the most punishable combos in his move set but it also keeps you safe from the trailing light attacks while letting you see what’s gonna happen next 5. Stay calm. The biggest killer in this fight is panic especially in phase 2 where it feels like he’s going full “random bullshit go” mode but you’ve already got everything you need to excel at this point so take a deep breath and put the poor general and mohg out of his misery and send miquella to juvenile detention where he belongs 6. Play how you want to. Do not feel bad about pulling up a cheese build if everything else fails or if you just want to be done with it there is no shame in beating the boss on your own terms in the way you find the most enjoyable same goes for using summons both player and npc I hope this helps someone who is either still struggling with the boss or preparing to face him for the first time you can do it :)

No time for healing, it's the boss's turn and their combo is already starting. You perfectly dodge it all. It's your turn now; time to heal. It's the boss's turn again, and you land another series of perfect dodges. As a reward, you land one attack that brings the boss down to 95% health. You get greedy and try to land TWO hits. Unwise; the boss's turn started as soon as you finished the first hit. YOU DIED
@@masque9446 I don't think they play tested the second phase. The huge frame dip makes that pretty obvious and the fact that 90 to 95 percent of the players will have to change their build to beat him. I changed to shield poke after I realized I could not tank the damage. After beating him with 2 real summons, I spent the next 4 to 6 hours helping others to beat him. During that I learned his move set after the 50th or so try. It is nearly impossible to dodge his attacks at medium roll without spamming the roll button. Also I have no idea how Zanny survived his meterior body attack at near the end other than it going after the mimic maybe. Without perfect dodge or shield, you cannot survive that attack when it is directed towards you. His high vigor and multiple combos mean it is nearly impossible to beat on your own as with 1 mistake like you said could kill you. I tried on a rerun of the entire game by myself and then with npc summons. I can only get him down to 20% health cause From most likely made the NPCs dumber and so don't understand when to dodge or attack. I am not proud of it, but I cannot beat him without 2 real summons.

Here's my take on it. I used a quality milady with low armor and the deflect tear and no summons to finally beat rahdan. Definetly handicapped myself but I was determined to master this boss like malenia. It took me 3 days and 20 ish hours but I got him. At the end though from looking back at my attempts and others i had a really cool epiphany. Most of us can dodge block deflect etc. rahdan perfectly if not close to perfect. Guard counter builds can 2nd phase him in less than a minute. We tarnished can measure up to Rahdan at his theoretical HEIGHT. We are fast enough and strong enough to beat rahdan thanks to everything we've learned and collected. I realized our struggle truly begins when Miquella literally comes in to CHEAT.
I love how Radahn is programmed to target switch even if you don’t attack him. They knew how annoying the boss was and they knew people were going to use summons so they said “yeah you’re not cheesing this fight”

well it is objectively correct that they are the better player if you think about it. Its still not right to tell others how to play the game tho. Doing a challenge run like no summons is really fun and victories feel a lot more nice in my experience. If you dont have the time to invest into learning a boss fight, thats fine. Its just that solo or not are two completely different experiences and I personally find the solo route to be a lot more rewarding and fun :P

I don’t blame Zanny for using summons on Radahn. That fight took me 5 hours to do solo (which is just as long as Malenia) and if I hadn’t looked up a Fextralife guide for how to dodge all his attacks it probably would have taken me even longer. The second phase is no joke
The problem with radahn is they artificially made him more difficult. His hitboxes are actually way bigger than they should, meaning you gotta account for 5ft of extra sword. That also accounts for literally every move he does, even magic. And they made sure his cooldowns are as small as humanly possible. Also there is literal proof of his hitboxes being bigger than they should. Check the videos online or even by editing the game files to show the hitboxes. He's hard for all the wrong reasons.
And for all of those who are calling Zanny bad at video games listen to beat Radahn without mimic or a shield and poke build, but that took me days. I honestly can’t blame anyone for using the mimic tear but listen we are forgetting that Zanny defeated Midir on the first try, that is the most bad ass flex a souls veteran can have

@@masque9446 I don't think they play tested the second phase. The huge frame dip makes that pretty obvious and the fact that 90 to 95 percent of the players will have to change their build to beat him. I changed to shield poke after I realized I could not tank the damage. After beating him with 2 real summons, I spent the next 4 to 6 hours helping others to beat him. During that I learned his move set after the 50th or so try. It is nearly impossible to dodge his attacks at medium roll without spamming the roll button. Also I have no idea how Zanny survived his meterior body attack at near the end other than it going after the mimic maybe. Without perfect dodge or shield, you cannot survive that attack when it is directed towards you. His high vigor and multiple combos mean it is nearly impossible to beat on your own as with 1 mistake like you said could kill you. I tried on a rerun of the entire game by myself and then with npc summons. I can only get him down to 20% health cause From most likely made the NPCs dumber and so don't understand when to dodge or attack. I am not proud of it, but I cannot beat him without 2 real summons.

Do you guys not see all the openings for hits during the boss combos? First time I actually looked for them and realized there are a ton of them. Even power standing weapons you can get a hit off.

Here's my take on it. I used a quality milady with low armor and the deflect tear and no summons to finally beat rahdan. Definetly handicapped myself but I was determined to master this boss like malenia. It took me 3 days and 20 ish hours but I got him. At the end though from looking back at my attempts and others i had a really cool epiphany. Most of us can dodge block deflect etc. rahdan perfectly if not close to perfect. Guard counter builds can 2nd phase him in less than a minute. We tarnished can measure up to Rahdan at his theoretical HEIGHT. We are fast enough and strong enough to beat rahdan thanks to everything we've learned and collected. I realized our struggle truly begins when Miquella literally comes in to CHEAT.
I love how Radahn is programmed to target switch even if you don’t attack him. They knew how annoying the boss was and they knew people were going to use summons so they said “yeah you’re not cheesing this fight”

The fact that people feel the need to point out that it is theoretically "more impressive" (I mean find me two people who are ACTUALLY more impressed) to beat a boss without using any tools except leveling strength is just mindblowing. It shows how chronically online and out of touch with reality those few players are, and it's sad.

well it is objectively correct that they are the better player if you think about it. Its still not right to tell others how to play the game tho. Doing a challenge run like no summons is really fun and victories feel a lot more nice in my experience. If you dont have the time to invest into learning a boss fight, thats fine. Its just that solo or not are two completely different experiences and I personally find the solo route to be a lot more rewarding and fun :P

The problem with radahn is they artificially made him more difficult. His hitboxes are actually way bigger than they should, meaning you gotta account for 5ft of extra sword. That also accounts for literally every move he does, even magic. And they made sure his cooldowns are as small as humanly possible.
Also there is literal proof of his hitboxes being bigger than they should. Check the videos online or even by editing the game files to show the hitboxes. He's hard for all the wrong reasons.
And for all of those who are calling Zanny bad at video games listen to beat Radahn without mimic or a shield and poke build, but that took me days. I honestly can’t blame anyone for using the mimic tear but listen we are forgetting that Zanny defeated Midir on the first try, that is the most bad ass flex a souls veteran can have
