5 Kendama Transitions and Grip Switches To Make You Look Spicy

  • If I could rate the spiciness of these kendama transitions like a ramen reviewer I would say these fall between "guys this is not spicy ramen" and "WOW SCOVILLE LEVEL 10000 (no milk)". Flowing between tricks is something you literally do between every trick in one way or another, and switching grips is key when your looking to step up your lines. Sara grip tama grip ken grip can we grip it yes we can.
    Thanks for hanging out!

    Not a cookie ingredient but I sometimes put frozen raspberries in my chocolate balls and it's amazing

    • @mediochrist
      @mediochrist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Oh sheeesh, I know that dried cranberries slap in a cookie, but I wonder if frozen fruit would be too wet 🤔 Might lead to an experiment, or some chocolate balls. Ty either way lmao

    • @mediochrist

      Use some speed and the cetrifical force to keep it on there, and then really get it totally upside down before going for the switch. If you try to switch to early it'll be poppin off. Good luck💪🏼

    Hey there, happy to see you’re back. This video is really informative, the only problem is that my skills aren’t quite there yet. My favourite transition happens when I switch from kendama to yoyo and then back to kendama🤣 I’m soon to be on summer holidays… I feel like I can do more structured practicing when I have more free time at home. Bring on those long-awaited summer holidays. Thanks for the great video, and enjoy those Chocolate Chip Cookies. Ⓜary🍪🍪🍪

    • @mediochrist
      @mediochrist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha thanks Mary! Start with the cold pizza! Especially with your yoyo skills I bet that it'll come much easier than expected. Finger in the string, drop it, grab it. You got it! Especially with all the time you'll have to practice now😉 Enjoy that sweet sweet summer vacation

    • @marycharlebois6627
      @marycharlebois6627 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mediochrist YUP… you’re 💯 correct… string tricks with a kendama come really quickly to me since anything with a string has a similar muscle memory/tactile feel. I know Cold Pizza so I will continue to build on that. Thanks for the awesome advice and have a great day. Ⓜ️ary

    Those are really good tips, I'll try to use in my next session. I also recommend the 'Glock Switch' for a nice transition from tama to sara grip. Jake Wiens did a tutorial for it on sweets channel.
    Flying V also makes a nice transition from ken/sara to tama grip, I realized.

    JAM THAT NATTY. Any update on it?

    • @mediochrist
      @mediochrist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      LOL love it when you pop up for the natty updates. Bro I SWEAR I've been playing it a good bit, I also superglued the spike. The tamas got some good dents and stuff but even with a few sweat swipes I'm still in very difficult to even lunar territory. I still have experiments I want to do to increase that natty grip which would come with some updates, but no idea when that will happen🤷‍♀️

    • @pizzafroth1521
      @pizzafroth1521 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@mediochrist mokishame it too. Work in those cups. Also wood type is a key factor too. Playing a natty will make you much better at Kendama. I hope i didnt bother you! I have a raw ash GT that plays like a dream, and am about to get a Analog Unicorn in a few days. Jam the thing as much as possible and sweat in it. It WILL break in. It takes time. Its like a long term relationship: if you put in the work, it becomes amazing. If you don't, itll only stay icy and slick.

    • @mediochrist
      @mediochrist  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@pizzafroth1521 not at all man! Love hearing from you😅 You're 100% right, definitely more work to be done. The unicorn is such a good looking dama, enjoy the heck out of it! And let me know how it breaks in if it's natty! If it's brick then that's a whole different story haha

    • @pizzafroth1521
      @pizzafroth1521 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@mediochrist its Natty! Also, remember licking can give it temporary "stickiness" too. Just be sure to lick THEN sweat or else..... EEWWW.
