In terms of driving experience, I would go for BR-V, just that need to do improve with aftermarket sound insulation, and perhaps small modification to the rear absorber rate. For family oriented driver just to go A to B, either one is good.

The BRV looks good on the outside but on closer inspection, you’ll find lack of cabin sound insulation, thin rubber door seals, interior plastic panels that do not reach all the way to the carpet with finger wide gaps, dashboard rattle, 2nd row seat rattle, an infotainment system that without plugins is only good for radio and reverse camera display, a tool storage area which doesn’t allow easy access to/storage for the carjack, and driver seat floor mat that’s practically impossible to hook up to the floor studs! Don’t be dazzled by looks, look out for quality and design flaws.

@@unboxbybil mine already 6 years. Practical & quite reliable.
Issues that i have experience :
      1. Drive shaft left and right need to check, most of the model driveshaft not quite reliable due to vendor issues. Just check first before you buy to see whether previous owner have change it or not. Solution by replace with new one.
      2. Rain drainage at roof rails (focus to driver and passenger). This issue appear when heavy rain where water flow into cabin by time you open the door to go in. Solution you can find at BRV group where they cut some hole at the rail mounting area so that water can flow straight to front windscreen instead of go into the cabin.
      3. Air-conditioning system are not that cold. Take times to drop temperature inside whole cabin. Solution maybe need to do flushing (not yet execute).
      4. Boot strut damper not functional. Solution by replace new one.
      5. 2nd row seat stuck unable to fold. Solution at youtube where you need to open the fold mechanism beside the stuck seat and adjust the bracket. Solution by repair it DIY
      6. CVT gearbox have some jerking issue at early rpm. I'm just let this pass as i using it carefully since it is cvt. So far okay just checking & change the cvt oil (if required).
Other than that, all is fine & good.

the good thing in the aruz is the safety that's all. The one thing in the brv which destroys the aruz completely is that 120hp and the sixth gear. Aruz 120km/h 5th gear rpm 3600. Brv 120km/h 6th gear rpm 2200. now make up the difference.

Nevertheless, Aruz is what most Malaysian should get if they're looking for affordable 7 seater car but if no need for the extra 2 seats, highly recommended to wait for the new Perodua compact SUV (5 seater) or Proton X50 ...

I'm not too sure about CVT , instead Aruz could use a 5/6 speed AT like the Triton, DMax or BT-50. Basically if the Aruz's intended purpose/function follows loosely like these pickups, I bet the 6 speed will take a beating better than the CVT due to the torque & load it may exert. There will be more gear ratios to allow O/D on the highway .
Then again, it may drive up the cost more from R&D; it is something Perodua may need to consider which to trade off because 4AT for this car is very ill-suited for refinement; you cannot tune the gear ratios much when you only have 102hp, slightly lesser than a 1.5L Myvi even.

    • @WapCar

Packaging is lousy if you’re carrying adults in the second row, and it lacks so many features you’d find in much cheaper cars. You don’t even get a light for the gear shifter! Build quality is pretty awful as well - the doors don’t seal well at all, and there’s always a loud bang from the roof if you start driving in warm/cooler weather. Only good things I can say about it is that it drives normal.

The End is just around the corner! Time is almost up for humankind! Go ahead and buy everything you want before the clock is stopped! Everything is going to fall apart,at least you’ll die in the spacious car instead of cramped sedan! But buy buy!!! Moratorium will be extended for the next 6 months! Imagine driving a big car for free for the next 12 months before god calls it’s a day! No more 2nd year,no more monthly installment.Just drive, die and wake up queuing for The Judgement Day! You wouldn’t be able to drive these in hell!!!
