      No they are not.
Don't get me wrong. I like Pispers and I think this is a good show.
But he is also very biased to the left and he has not all facts right.
      Allende
The CIA did several operations in Chile and they supported the junta with money and weapons but there were not involved directly in the coup.
Actually it was the CIA's fault that Allende got elected in first place. The tried to kidnap general Rene Schneider to prevent the election of Allende.
Schneider got shot and died three days later. After this the PDC (Partido Demócrata Cristiano de Chile, the Christian Democratic Party in Chile) backed the election of Allende.
Allende was a socialist and he nationalized industry.
His politics was disputed. The opposition and his partner PDC was not happy with him. Allende hat not a majority anymore and lost the confidence of the congress in a vote.
CIA had not to be so convincing I guess. The CIA was not invboled in the planning of the coupe.
The knew it by forhand, an agent reported it to the headquarter and they also informed the BND about it. But they did not make the planning.
By listening to Volker you might imagine that the role of the CIA was bigger than it actually was.
He says nothing about the Soviet Union.
The Sviet Uniuon occupied Iran withe the British in 2nd World war.
The British took there troops back, the Soviets did not. And they separated parts of Iran.
Head of state was Reza Shah Palavi whoi resigend and his son Moihammed Reza Palavi followed.
About his terror regime. Just a theory by me. But how much was it a fault of the Soviet Union?
There was a real foreign danger getting control / getting back control over the country.
Palave problaby saw in the Soviet Union a real danger because it was for him.
It wasn't like that the USA decided that Iran would be a nice bullwark against communism.

Not everything he said is a fact. He said Bush wasn't democratically elected which there is no proof of that and that would mean Trump wasn't democratically elected either which means Americans aren't as stupid as people think they are and that they were scammed by certain people in power, I don't believe in that, it goes against the nature of American naivety especially when it comes to foreign policy. Nobody would have put Trump in power if they knew that Trump would wipe his ass with top secret documents while they were sleeping.

    • @LJJ22
      @LJJ22 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

While that is true that there are a lot of facts in it, if you leave out things it can still sound exaggerated. I don't know much about this part of history, but I could imagine there is more background to the conflicts/wars than just the USA telling people to attack. Like some backstory about Iraq and Iran being enemies already, but Iran was too powerful to fear any attack from Iraq if Iraq had no support, but now Iran was weakened and/or lost its support.

    • @irgendan
      @irgendan 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

@@LJJ22 In the end it all comes back around to the war on communism. The US backed alot of poeple with the goal to have a shield against Russia/China, and more often than not it backfired and made everything much worse. They learned their lession in Vietnam and decided to wage war by proxy, so they dont have to send their own troops in. So they backed good upstanding people like Saddam Hussein fir example. How that turned out we all know. And after heavily supporting Osama bin Laden to fight their war for them it finally bit them in the ass. That was a long time coming and entirely the result of their own meddling in foreign affairs.

I know this hurts. It always hurts when you're confronted with the idiocy of a government that does things in your name, even if you don't agree with them. Especially when you're faced with present day consequences of actions committed by idiots way before your own birth that still echoes down history right until today. You can't do anything about the past, you're not guilty for what happened before. You're only responsible to try to change what's happening right now.
But now you may have a glimpse into how Germans feel about our own history. Anyone born after WW2 has no guilt for actions committed back then. But most Germans feel a sort of second-hand shame and embarrassment for it, as well as a responsibility to make certain something like that never happens again.
Edit: Volker Pispers has a PhD in history, so what he is saying is accurate. Sure, he puts his spin on it for comedic effect. But this is typical for German political cabaret. It is brutally honest satire, sometimes stepping into cynicism. But usually whatever they say is factually true. Because by staying factually true they can't be critically targeted or sued for defamation and slander. In Germany the freedom of expression ends where someone impugns the dignity and honor of someone else which is the highest human right: human dignity. So satirists have to be careful not to make factually wrong claims. How they spin the story to make it both entertaining AND enlightening is limited by the skill and talent of the satirist. Volker Pispers was one of the best in his field.

And yet, I still feel a great responsibility towards what you call *German history*, because my great-grandmother was incarcerated twice into a concentration camp and only got out there by shere luck… in the end, she got liberated by the US troops which liberated Dachau.
She was lucky as hell and could even celebrate her 102 birthday, but she never forgot what she endured before.

US soldiers where never stationed at the holy sites, these cities are off limit for non muslims (Mekka and Medina, Jerusalem is not a holy city in islam, that was made up later. Not once mentioned in the Quran). And US soldiers where invited by the islamic authority in KSA, the royal family. So in some parts he exaggerates or is not 100% correct, but mostly it's fine.

Volkers shows are NOT comedy but satire. Also this is a history lesson for everyone he guessed in this show. Of course he wrapped it like comedy. Keep in mind that the winner writes history to his advantage (history books). Volkers remarks depend on real history. But so is the point of view from "outside". I wrote it several times before, but if you want more objective news about your own country read news from foreign countries about your country. That works for every country in this beautyful world!

One can see that you did not feel too well with the fires shot toward the US, but I'm glad you decided to continue with part 2 anyway! He's rather a political cabaret artist than a comedian, so there might be some exaggerations, but actually he's rather acurate regarding the facts but put them in words that sound comical to absurd, making people laugh but think about at the same time. He's enormously intelligent and knowledgeable, and while this show is almost 20 years old (Gerhard Schröder was the chancellor before Angela merkel, who was in power for 16 years), in the past 2 years quite some Americans reacted to this show.

Sit back, get comfortable and enjoy the ride through history, which so more or less common knowledge in the educated (rest of the) world but afaik not taught or discussed within US schools or society.

As an American living in Austria now, I am amazed how American politicians, military (mostly retired), and diplomats are quite willing to speak frankly and honestly in documentaries made in Europe, but they would not dream of it in the states. Therefore, many truths are disclosed to the rest of the world that they choose to keep a secret from Americans. One documentary I am thinking of in particular is about Gorbechev and how he wanted a loan of just a few million to set up a democratic government in Russia after Perestroika. The USA, and thus NATO (at their push) turned him down flat and backed Yeltsin, who USA saw as a drunk and easy puppet. We now see how that backfired. You won't ever see that German documentary played in the USA, but Americans who were deeply involved in all of that were more than willing to sit down and be interviewed for the documentary. That's one reason many Americans think of Reagan as a great man. Boy, are they foolish.

In case you will watch this video till the end please take an extra look (ear) when he is talking about teacher and schools. Brilliant. In case you will visit in the future: in Bremerhaven you will find "Das Auswandererhaus". hey @morejps you said that it has to be taken with "a grain of salt", and that it "was exceggerated" due to comedy. But in my opinion it is a quite accurate and neutral observation of the topics by Volker Piepers. He is a political analyst who communicated the topics and his opinions "objectively" which turned everything into a tragic comedy rather than just comedy. Not much exceggeration to be found.
side note: some of the translations are not very accurate so the jokes sometimes are difficult to be understood, but content wise it is accurate.

The USA government and military is friend to no one, only always egoistic, greedy and dangerous. And not reformable, because you always vote for the same unfortunately outdated 2 parties full of millionaires, that are not interested in representing their own people. So you need a complete new REALLY democratic system like in Switzerland and better, with more INDEPENDENT parties and referendums.
This ruthless Globalists try to prevent it, so you citizens must push it through, to to get rid of this hostile foreign rule.

My beloved Americans. As a German, I've lived three years in the USA. Two of my sons were born in America and possess dual citizenship. I think I'm blessed to got to know a lot of grounded and welcoming Americans, and of course, true patriots - and I appreciated it.
I distinguish between the people, and the government. It's not the Americans that are rotten, it's the power politics based on the Monroe doctrin, enforced by the military-industrial complex. It's the same thing everywhere.
Do I like the Russians? Yes, very trustworthy people. Do I like their campaign in Ukraine? Certainly not! Although you shouldn't forget the prologue of this war. Nevertheless, would I trust Putin? No further than I could throw him. Or take the current situation in Germany, with our childish, insane government. Meanwhile 80% of Germans want this government to resign and want a new government. Have you ever heard this on CNN?
Volker Pispers is a great and intelligent satirist. He always puts the mirror in front of every hypocrite people, or system.
But if you want a deeper dive in rotten American power politics, I suggest Daniele Ganser. He is a Swiss historican and peace researcher and offers disturbing facts over the USA and even 9/11. But he always differs between the people and the government.

Hi my friend. Volker Pispers is NOT a comedian, he's a cabaret artist. There is a big difference between comedy and cabaret, especially political cabaret. Cabaret handles the "political business" very satirical or sarcastic by pointing out (sometimes catastrophic) political decisions or events in an even apparently sarcastic (and therefore funny) way. This kind of cabaret has a long history in Germany, especially during the 3rd Reich (and WW2). Many artists have been killed from the Nazi-Regime because of their art of fight against ignorance, racism and the contempt for humanity.
