Love this Liz, you have a great attitude. I've embarked on a 'daily' project, doesn't matter if I spend five minutes or 5 hours each day, I don't have to post everyday, and like you I don't put myself under pressure, if there are days I don't do something so what! You really have reinforced my thoughts! Thank you! Also, always love hearing your recommendations for mediums, books, sketchbooks etc.
Thanks so much Karen I’m so glad that it was helpful. There will be more!/ recommendations etc- also I’m just starting the planning of an online sketchbook course covering a range of approaches .
@@LizAckerley I've just ordered myself an Indigo sketchbook! I do love a sketchbook. I shall be really interested to hear about the course - thanks Liz x
@@karenkemphall925 ooh you will love it!- I just stumbled Upton it and so pleased as they are Uk made and I think quite reasonable. I will keep you posted Karen x
@@LizAckerley You're right, I love it, it's so beautiful I'm almost afraid to use it! Perhaps I need another size.....😊 Thanks again for the recommendation x
Good for you. Looking after yourself too. I've grown to love sietch books and experimenting. These are lovely and interesting layers.Thank you for sharing Liz.
Love the hand made paper and the colours of those soft pastels are dreamy. I am so happy your were able to make the 100 days idea work for you. and I really enjoyed seeing the sketchbooks.
I think some structure and boundaries, but not rigidity- your on to something! I love the Indigo watercolor sketchbooks- the paper is handling well your inks and pastel marks.
Thank you Liz I have found this inspiration and I love the handmade book the paper looks so tactile You set me off on another exploration of making marks and playing.
Wonderfully informative as always Liz, I’m thinking now I’ll start my own 100day project with limited supplies on my upcoming housesit by the beach. Thank you
Thank you so much for this Liz, this was super inspiring. I will buy inks tomorrow. What you mentioned at the end about the "words" I didn´t get. Maybe you will explain more next time. Thank you again!
Thanks Grete glad you enjoyed it. The works are like prompts to inspire a wider range of mark making. We do more of this type of approach on my course: Making Your Mark. lizackerley.podia.com/making-your-mark
@@LizAckerley I would love to join the course but I am super allergic to soft pastels (and chalk) - could I use oil pastels? Or anything else? I love how you use the soft pastels but sadly that will not be an option for me.
@@gretemollatt5120 hi Grete no the course I refer to doesn’t focus on using soft pastels and you could avoid. If you click the link you will get more info on what the course is about
Really inspiring Liz Thank You - I imagine you have to fix the pastels is that right - in that case what do you use ? you appear to manage to keep them all so clean!
Really interesting to hear you critique your studies, Liz - thank you for sharing

Hi Michelle I think that’s a brilliant idea!- Limited supplies often much more enjoyable!
.. again sooo delicious 🙏🏼😍🌺❤️ do you fixing with spraying something on?🤔
Thank you Tina, yes I always fix with soft pastel spray available from suppliers like Windsor and Newton.

Thanks Janie yes you need to fix the pastels. I use a spray fixative.
Do you use a spray fixative or varnish on your sketchbook pages with the pastels and ink?
Hi Johnel yes I do use spray fixative for the pastels ( otherwise they would smudge a lot). But I don’t use varnish.
Very inspiring. Did you spray pastel with fixative? Or just liquefy with water?
Thanks Candice yes the pastels need fixing with a spray fixative.
@@LizAckerley thank you. I'm a pastelist but love inks. Can't wait to give it a try.
