If the reflections of your neon lights look grainy and pixelated its because you need to uncheck [half res trace] under the screen space reflections tab. Doing that and tweaking with the other settings should get you to where you want.

This is the very first thing I've ever made in blender or any 3d software for that matter. It took me about an hour and a half in real time but it was super satisfying watching my final render. Thanks for the tutorial!
One thing I would recommend is adding the keystrokes so beginner users that don't know the hotkeys can follow along much better. Other than that, this was a great video in my opinion! I may use it for my stream now :D
Honestly this was the most straightforward tutorial. You covered all the buttons you're pressing, kept the video length down, and nothing was drawn out. I wish all tutorials were this perfect
I love that these tutorials are only around 10 minutes long, that way when I end up with a failure that looks nothing like what it should it isn't a huge waste of time.
@@greenpig1670 Yes. Good to know, thank you. It was a joke. I would like you to feel equally free to joke about my native language, which is European Portuguese.
I'm new to 3D, so for me the very idea of creating an abstract animation by modeling and dollying was pretty cool. Kind of makes me think of Trumbell/Kubrick building the slit scan camera for the star gate in 2001...only in software :).
this video was awesome, I kinda forgot about blender but now I want to go back and mess around with 2.8. (I also subscribed because I really like the tutorials you make, really really good videos) thank you!
you don't need to change the interpolation animation settings in preferences, if you just select the key frames and click t, you can choose which interpolation type you want
For people trying this tutorial out, another way to reduce noise is to control the distance of the outer triangular surface. The distance between the two largely controls how your reflections and noise turn out. So try scaling in and out till you get the desired results ! Edit : I also figured out that the contrast and gamma can also play a huge role so you might wanna tweak those as well.
A bit late, but another thing that would be cool on this is to have the colors change as you're going through. I'm not sure about this, but I think you can have a keyframe on the base color/emission property, so you can make it fade between colors.
Antares MX yea but the all compoments for laptops are remade, they carry the same name but a gpu for a computer will allways be more powerfull then the laptop one with the same name.
Thanks for the tutorial. I'm a little late with all this cause I took a 4 year break and feels like I am having to learn everything all over again lol. I did run into a problem with the seamless loop though and I am thinking it has something to do with the materials randomness. At the very end of the animation it sort of studders. Either way you are a great teacher and make some awesome looking stuff. Thank you again.
Great works and have been following your 5-6 tutorials. For even shorter videos you may try to duplicate after first duplicate by Shift+R. You most probably know that but for those of you who might be overwhelmed by duplicate process (such as me) can try that. Keep it up :)

The reflection of my" triangle loop" or whatever you want to call it... Has a pixel look, its not clean like in your video. Can you help me? I think its because of the resolution, maybe?
Harsh Malik i cant quite remember right now, but i believe it is in the render settings on the side, i think it might be the tab with the little cone and sphere and stuff, maybe the camera. i went up to 4k and it worked fine.
Make sure you're using Eevee and not Cycles. You find that option next to "Render Engine" on the render tab on the right, the one that looks like the back of a camera. Under "Sampling", pick a number higher than 16 for your "viewport" resolution. That may give you a cleaner look.
1st attempt I some how managed to have the wireframe on the outside somehow and had to reset everything from scratch but once I was able to get to where I was I think it came out great! used blue and orange :)
You loose me at "Shift D", when you do that the copy disappears without stating that you've deleted it, and somehow there are 2 triangle models, ones a wireframe and another is the model before adding wireframe, mines just left with a wireframe and nothing else? How does that work?
See this, Autodesk? This is called realtime Viewport rendering.
Please don't ask them to change. Wouldn't wanna shell out extra for the extra coding by their rocket scientists!
unfortunately no modifier stack in Blender
autodesk what? 3dsmax has options to create realtime rendering depending on the renderer...
