Well, than you haven't listened to "A Frozen Serenade".
If I had to name a LZ masterpiece, it would be Kashmir--much more complex, musically and emotionally, than STH. And Lovebites have at least five songs in that league, which is insane.
@@hiawatha.g Symphony X has "The Odyssey" and "The Divine Wings of Tragedy". Both songs are over 20 minutes long, and they play them live.

All Ladies in LOVEBITES can play the piano (keyboards): Miho, Haruna, Midori, Asami, Miyako and Fami (bass player since October 2022).
The piano is one of the main instruments that many Japanese musicians begin with, often at an early age. For example:
Miho started playing the piano at the age of 5. Later, already studying at school, she mastered the bass guitar.
Midori started playing the piano at age 2. At the age of 8, she began playing the electric organ. And only at the age of 20 Midori began to learn to play the guitar.
Miyako has been playing the piano since the age of 3. Miyako wanted to become a pianist, perform at classical music concerts. She seriously prepared for this from childhood, but at the age of 18 she picked up a guitar and .......🤗
Asami also plays the piano a little during concerts, the songs "We the United" and "Today Is the Day".
Not surprising they all play piano. They are very talented!

Haruna does something that not a lot of drummers do (or at least not as well) - she plays her drum kit as an instrument, not just something to use to keep time. Her fills and use of cymbals really add an extra dimension to the music of Lovebites. Of then the focus is on the twin lead guitars, bit Haruna's work in the background really needs to be actively noticed and appreciated.
"she shreds on the piano and then shreds on the guitar..." I believe there's a song where she plays both at the same time too.

Perhaps my favorite Lovebites Reaction ever, Jeff. It's the first time I've visually seen someone react not to the Miyako's fingers, but rather her timing and touch. Mi-Ya and Musicality are inseparably joined at the hip. Also saw the tear in your eye after the Outro. I Love them all, but Mi-Ya is just Special.

great reaction!!! All these beautiful ladies are virtuosos, no doubt. But what Haruna does on her drums is absolutely mind boggling, she must have 12 feet.
What you have to bear in mind when your jaw hits the floor as you're watching Miyako on the piano is that she's not a guitarist who can tickle the ivories but rather a classically trained pianist ( from the age of 3 ) who only took up guitar at the age of 19 - which is an even more astounding fact !

"Etude Op.10, No.12" ( or "Revolutionary Etude") by the great Polish composer Frederic Chopin, which was written in 1831 and is dedicated to the Polish patriots who raised an uprising (1830-1831) against the Russian Empire, whose troops occupied Poland.
"Swan song" ( lyrics - Asami , music -Miyako) from the third album LOVEBITES "Electric Pentagram" (2020). For many centuries (starting from Ancient Greece) there is a legend, according to which swans, non-singing, "silent" birds, acquire a voice a few moments before death, and this dying singing of swans is amazingly beautiful.
"Etude" by F. Chopin and "Swan Song" are dedicated to the warriors who died in battle. Therefore, at the concert, "Etude" and "Swan Song" are played together.
In an interview given after the release of the "Electric Pentagram" album, Asami (a former ballerina, studied classical ballet for about 16 years before becoming a singer) said that when she wrote the lyrics of the song, she was thinking about the famous ballet P.I. Tchaikovsky "Swan Lake" . During the performance of the song, Asami imitates the Swan (hand movements). And in the final part (piano Miyako), symbolizing the death of the Swan, Asami depicts the dying Swan on stage. Because the camera at the end of the song is focused on Miyako playing the piano, Asami's "death of the Swan" was not captured on video.

It has nothing to do with classic music but begins with a pair of acoustic guitars, then vocal and piano comes in. It is all slow beautiful ballad with soulful weeping and wailing guitar solos of Miyako and Midori.

The Chopin piece performed by Miyako (guitar/keyboard) as the intro is "Etude OP10, No12", known as "Revolution Etude"
In 1831, an uprising of some officers and civilians against the Polish government under the de facto control of the Russian Empire, dubbed the "November Revolution", failed due to the direct intervention of Russian forces. Chopin is informed of this news during his travels. he lost his place to return to.
When the Russian army invaded Warsaw, Chopin's agents released "Etude OP10, No.12" in Paris. People called it a "revolutionary etude" because of the agent's exaggerated promotion of the song.
Miyako composed "SwanSong" with reference to this "revolutionary etude" and Dvorak's "New World Symphony".
Former ballerina Asami (vocals) wrote a poem inspired by Norse mythology and "Swan Lake" based on the historical background of "Revolutionary Etude".
"SwanSong" is a requiem dedicated to the warriors who fought to reclaim fatherland, a masterpiece that only LOVEBITES can complete.

There are several other songs that Miyako composed inspired by classical music, such as the fusion of metal and classical music incorporated in the intro.
"Empty Daydream" (Live in Tokyo 2019) is by
Sergei Rachmaninoff (Rachmaninov)
"Moments Musicaux Op.16 No4" is incorporated into the intro.
The "Empty Daydream" song has the feel of Michael Jackson's "Beat It". The song was performed at the time by JENNIFER BATTEN, one of Miyako's top 5 favorite guitar heroes.
Miyako added to the prelude at Live in 2019.
And then"Winds of Transylvania" (Live video).
Beethoven Symphony No. 5, Op. 67 "Fate" is incorporated into the introduction.
"Winds of Transylvania" is, I feel, a good take on Judas Priest's "PainKillers"

The Chopin piece is technically difficult especially for the left hand, as you see Miyako no difficulty playing it. Then she shows the same high level of skill on the guitar. She has never had guitar lessons, self taught! The backing track was recorded by Miyako for the concert.
Miyako composed the music with Asami writing the lyrics. While all write songs, usually with assistance from Mao. Miyako is the only one who does her own arrangements. All of their songs are final engineered and produced in Finland by the team who do Nightwish's songs.
What is going to be interesting how they incorporate Fami, their new bassist. Highly talented and skilled. Check her channel.
You must be another fan who thinks Lovebites cannot exist without Miyako. Half of what you said is wrong.
@@alfredtorres2188 Considering to date Miyako has half composed the music for half of Lovebites songs, with Asami writing the lyrics. Lovebites is dependent on Miyako. As to being wrong, everything in my comment is from interviews and/or articles on the band.
