This is your first look at new bassist Fami. The announcement was made in Oct., she is only 20. Original bassist Miho left Aug, 2021.
Asami on vocals, Miyako and Midori on guitar, Haruna on drums.
Fami, the new bassist also did a brilliant amazing touch in this song and got fronted. All members increase their musicianship. Lovebites rule!!👍👍

These ladies have only gotten better. I dint know that was possible. Haruna on drums, she's amazing. But one thing that's always really impressed me about her is her cymbal work, how precise it is. You can actually hear each individual cymbal strike and hear when she hits the cymbals bell. You can't really pick that up with most drummers, at least I can't. And Fami on bass. OMFG she's insanely good. and only 20 years old. Shes better than most I've been listening to for 30 or 40 years. She also sings, plays guitar and play piano equally well. And to think she nearly hung it up until Lovebites asked her to join. Super cute to. ( Kawaii ) I think is the Japanese word for it. My god half my wardrobe is older than her..lol With the addition of Fami, I think she can really help them get to a even higher level.

I’ve always considered Haruna as being one of the most creative drummers when it comes to her use of cymbals.

Haruna ALWAYS kills it on drums. She's not showy, but she gets the job done.
I also love how they've brought the bass forward a bit in the mix now they have Fami in the band. I felt that Miho's bass was often a little too far back in the mix (at least for my taste).
As always, kick*** solid and driving. Could not imagine surviving an entire concert of this! These ladies are both musicians and athletes! Agree Jeff that the orchestra is a subtly nice touch!!
Top notch band, one of the best in the world.
They say its a crime to have the two M's (Midori, Miyako) in collusion, but even worse, I say that it is illegal to have an assembly of conspiring 5 composer accomplished musicians with this masterful display of time signature dynamics.

I think you should take a hard look at Fami. Whether you were aware or not you missed her out!! What she put in was nothing short of fantastic. Aside from that drums is my thing and Haruna is spellbinding!!

I have only heard live performances on TH-cam and always find Asami difficult to understand. Obviously her English is better in studio recordings. Great track and Fami amazing.

An amazing song!!! Fami brings an entirely new feel to the bass lines. With Miho, she played really fast old school metal style. Fami's technical prowess in my opinion fits better with Miyako & Midori. Midori is The Shredded Shredder. This is my absolute favorite solo run as Fami really made it a three lead solo run. It hit hard when Midori did the first handoff to Miyako, as the tone lowered and Fami's bass line was just heavy. She changed the bass line with each handoff, and each section of the solo run was mind blowing. Asami's voice is the best I have heard from her. Haruna's cymbal and china work is incredible. The fact that Fami can couple with Haruna and drive the beat, and can also swing over to M & M and play a more guitar style of bass (if that makes any sense) is epic.
This is my favorite song, and not just by Lovebites. It has everything I ever wanted in a metal song, and it's almost 6 minutes long without feeling long whatsoever.
They released a second song off of the upcoming album, audio only. "The Spirit Lives On". th-cam.com/video/wevgY4fOgZk/w-d-xo.html It's more in line with their power metal heavy songs they previously have done. "Judgement Day" is just different in the best way.

Very good reaction..thank you :) These ladies just get better, if that is even possible. This song show cases all of them brilliantly, the duel guitar playing by Midori and Miyako is just, well, almost impossible to describe how superb it is, their virtuosity is outstanding. And Haruna, well, what can you say, she is just the best, ever, I still do not believe she has only 2 feet....lol! And Fami on bass will only make this band better. And now Asami's vocals, oh my dog, out of this world, and the last high note she finished on was unbelievable.
Can you use the terms "Badass" and "Goddesses" together? Not until this! They do the dueling guitars in most of their songs. Very cool touch and a major attraction of this band, although everything about this band is really just as awesome. Drummer's (Haruna) nickname is "Little Big Engine".

Holy sh..... Miho was a fantastic bass player, but Fami fits in perfectly with the Lovebites group, she gives a new special touch, she is incredible. They are all incredible and so good and beautiful to hear. This song is simply...........Fantastic Assami has an incredible voice and Mihako and Midori are the best guitarists I've heard so far. . but I'm even more amazed by Haruna who's crazy drummer she keeps an almost superhuman beat....Long live Lovebites.

"What a freight train of a song": I hear that allegory more and more often, when people describe the unexpected power and richness of Lovebites' songs and arrangements. "Lovebites can hit you off guard like a freight train at full speed, filled to the roof with power, vibe, excellence and joy", for example. Extremely good comparison - given the sudden awe and the recoiling in disbelief, that many listeners show.
Yes, they are good. I do not know what you listen to privately. But - there s more from Japan. More ladies. That absolutely kills it. If you have not heard them ye, here is a list

* Nemophila - Dual seven string lead guitars, a five string base, world class drummer and a screamer/raspy voice singer. Totally awesome. Originals and fantastic covers.
* Hanabie - new band. Fun, hard, mega growl from tiny kawai Japanese girl, kind of progressive - if you start with "We love sweets" and you are hooked.

I've been listening to metal since 1984 (Thrash Metal being my favourite subgenre) and for me, Lovebites have taken the best of "old school" Power/Thrash/Heavy Metal (sometimes, there's also Hard Rock or a bit Progressive Metal) to the next level! I'd say that some of the riffing in their latest song "Dissonance" is even entering Death Metal-territory (thankfully not Asami's vocals, though). I have yet to hear a song by them I don't like - I even enjoy the songs from subgenres I otherwise don't care about.

I love that you called out Kanako (Hagane): terrific drummer in a terrific young band. A lot of Hagane hype centers on Sakura Yoshida (which makes sense...she's absolutely a generational talent), but in fact the band is strong at every position.
@@DavidKAnderson I am fascinated by all these female Japanese bands, growing up with Maiden and priest in the late 70's early 80's this new improved metal is scratching every itch I've ever had.. I am really excited by Hagane, as you say they are strong in every position, but I just love Kanako, she is very very good, fantastic double kick and fills and comes across as being very modest (as do all of them). First a big thank you, cause I didn´t know that song, and like always you nailed it with what you did say. Yeah, Lovebites is a nice band, even for someone like me, who isn´t really into metal, and like the most bands from the islands they are doing great pop music. I love how they mix and match different music styles into their distinctive sound, and like usual in Japan the individual musicians are all extremely well playing. Seems they have a pretty good education system there. But, if you want to hear some really good (and far away from any mainstream) music from Japan (and I know, you will love it) then do yourself a favor, and search for this band on youtube: 八十八ヶ所巡礼. It seems, that it is pronounced like 88 kasyo junrei, what seems to mean something like 88 pilgrimage (I sadly don´t speak Japanese), and I found them years ago, when I still worked for a small German radio station. It´s anywhere between a lot of genres, and I have to admit, that I own all records, that I was able to get my hands on (Maybe this song is a good start cause of it´s hypnotical bass line: 狂感できない). These guys have their own website, and they only play for fun and cause they love making music, it´s really noncommercial stuff. But that is only a suggestion, cause I am and will be a follower of your channel now, and there is way too much good music in this world for the only two ears we have.
