BUT .. that's sure as hell not a Judo technique and it looks suspect, to truly lock a straight arm takes a lot of pressure and Lees body in this scene does not let him use the power of his core to get the tap .. but again its just for fun its a film not how Lee talked of real fighting

I personally am I Judo Black Belt, I have enormous respect for Lee and many of his teachings and its only a film but its a Hollywood throw., Lee is not close enough or under his opponents centre of gravity to really execute, but again its a film, I am in no way saying Lee was not a effective martial artist.

I was also a unarmed London Police officer for thirty years I have had a dozen plus real street fights and watched many more, none are smooth or as fluid as this, but that's much more boring. Yes it looks ok(ish) BUT its not Judo .. in Judo for such a throw you are coming in taking control and importantly following to the ground with the throw to strangle or lock or your opponent will roll away or spin to kick you in the face as you drop, I obtained my grade from fighting not abstract assessment, to obtain the Black then you had to win 10 fights against other 1st Kyu`s (upper Brown belts) no wins no belt, remember this is just a movie its designed as Lee himself said to `look` good to catch the eye, lee fully understood the difference between real fighting and movie fighting, people who know how to fight don`t let you throw them easily, nor do they bounce up like his opponent here did they will hug the ground and get up when safe, real fighters are very careful with there balance. Getting up is bloody dangerous if your opponent kicks your head on the way up its lights out, safer to stay on your back and try and point your legs at them so kick up.

Lee understood and spoke of `film fighting` to catch the eye and `real fighting` he understood, that's a Hollywood fight in 12 active years I never saw a Judo throw like that nor was taught it, real fights are different. BUT that's OK this is a film and a very good and amazingly successful one.
