    I'm almost at this stage of my van build (still gutting the interior) and this is exactly what I was looking for to help me in the next stage. You just earned a new subscriber!

    Beautiful. You should really do a 'before and after' of a vehicle to show just what sound deadening can do. A tin-can Kombi would be a perfect example! And I'd love to see what you can add to a car or hatchback that already has a bit of factory deadening and lining, but which could be quieter with your aftermarket products.

    Man i really wish you guys would set up a shop in the UK. We really could do with it. Absolutely flawless, thorough, and spot on, perfect application shown.
    FYI Some products you show there are strangely difficult to acquire here. The 3M spray adhesive for example.... Why? who knows! There is certainly a UK market for it.
    As a comparison, I watch one of the UK's most re-knowned "Kir"ampervan suppler and installer company just slice through the paint with a Stanley blade as they demonstrate how to instal and lay the floor sound deadening and insulation on a VW camper conversion video. Not cool at all!
    Don't learn from them. Learn from this guy.

    In my experience it is just as effective just making a 2-3cm wide cross X with the bitumen plates (wider if the plates is large). Covering everything makes little difference compared to just make a X (those plates is expensive and heavy...)

      Hi Rondo Cat. You're right, the first 30%-40% will have the most dramatic effect. Once the middle of a panel has been covered, the additional deadener covering the panel has diminishing results. To engineer a car, it takes some skill and technical analysis to pinpoint key areas that need sound deadening, auto manufacturers do this and save money by only covering key areas. In reality most people will cover everything as they do not mind spending a bit more to ensure they have achieved the desired results. Keep in mind that this is one stage in controlling sound in your vehicle and stage 2 is just as crucial. 👍

    I bet you can find this material in rolls which would make it easier to lay down without doing so much cutting and the heat sinks the padding down better then pressing it down and of course using waxless spray makes it stick on better a paint company could tell you which brand would be best to use.

    Great video, can i ask a question, i plan on putting laminate flooring in, what would you recommend i put underneath it?

      Hi Joseph. Mass Noise Liner is still the best choice. Are you going to frame out the floor? If so the Mass Noise Liner would be templated to fit within the framing work. Free feel to call us to discuss further 03 8777 0960 Good luck with the project👍

    Great stuff,
    I was under the impression that when you use stage one you only need to cover 30% of the area just to stop it from resonating..?

    • @carbuilders1
      @carbuilders1  4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Thank you Mikey Mochan. You're right. Auto manufacturer's will engineer sound proofing additions to a dollar point, researching the optimal positioning for deadening to just meet consumer expectations. Vibration dampening mats are most effective on single skin metallic surfaces. It is unnecessary to apply deadener to over-lapped metal sections, top hat, chassis sections etc as these areas don't resonant. To engineer a car it takes some skill and technical analysis to pin point key areas, in reality most people will cover everything as they don't mind spending a bit more to ensure they have achieved the desired results. With paying customers, most people want everything covered. Keep in mind that this is one stage in controlling sound in your vehicle. 😎👍

    Is it as difficult as it looks to remove the layers? In case of panel replacements that is.

      Hi Adam. The products are designed to stick but can be removed with some elbow grease 👍

      Yeah it's a total bitch mate. The Aluminium peels off the Butyl easy then you can roll it up into a huge black ball if your lucky. Otherwise it's the white spirit and plastic spreader.

    How about moisture retention? Is this material porous?

    • @carbuilders1
      @carbuilders1  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Hi Tim. The materials used in this install use closed cell foam backings which will not retain moisture.
