    Currently the entire store is 20% off from November 23rd to the 29th
    Indvidiual parts are 20% off and bulk parts are 10% off. If you're looking at a set, this is a great opportunity to pick one up at a better price!
    The Union Pacific's Big Boy Class is one of the most recognizable types of steam locomotives in the world. Their size and performance was the stuff of legends, and interest surged when 4014 was brought back to life in 2019. This iconic locomotive has been made in model form in various gauges across the years, but has yet to have a real winner of a model in Lego. Some crude models are available from Chinese companies, that are cheap cash grabs, while more detailed and impressive offerings are way beyond the price tag of the average consumer.
    One design by MorningStrummer is offered on ReBrickable for a digital Instruction download, where you have to source your own parts. A Chinese company called LetBrick partnered with him to take the sourcing part away from the process, and deliver to you a ready to build Big Boy model. LetBricks was kind enough to send me a copy of this model to build and review. This monster of a build was my largest and longest build of my life, and I am satisfied with the end result. If you would like to purchase the model at the link below, please use code "LTMOC" to save 12% on your purchase!

      I mean for the powered up stuff I do have, losing the IR receiver for Bluetooth was a great move on Lego’s part. The only two things I miss are the extensions cords and a plug adapter/Stackability of outputs

      And there were more possibilities in power functions than powered up like there were more motors for power functions, S, M, L and XL motors

    I’ve purchased LT products before. Currently a proud owner of Jepaz’s generation 3 GTEL, and soon to be the proud owner of his Veranda GTEL. Letbrick’s products are honestly pretty damned good. Their support team is also very quick to respond and answer questions you may have about the whole process and their company as a whole. Honestly can’t wait for my Veranda to get here

    Gotta try this with a BuWizz motor!

    • @ToledoRails

      What performance differences would there be with a BuWizz motor?

    • @justinnakatsuka7813
      @justinnakatsuka7813 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@ToledoRails Well, the Buwizz has way more power than a regular Lego motor so I think that, as long as you have traction, you could get this train moving really quickly.

    • @ToledoRails
      @ToledoRails  ปีที่แล้ว

      @@justinnakatsuka7813 okay, does Buwizz make a motor that could fit roughly the size of the technic motor? They are integral to the build and not just slapped on. If it has more power that sounds very appealing, but this was designed a specific way for the L motor to be housed.

    • @justinnakatsuka7813
      @justinnakatsuka7813 ปีที่แล้ว

      Well, I actually think that the key element of Buwizz is the power block, which is the same size as the Lego one. However, they market as a replacement alternative to the lego power systems so I think that all their components are the same dimensions as Lego's. This video shows the Buwizz running various trains, including a big boy. Not sure if it's the same model that Morning Strummer designed for Letbricks. th-cam.com/video/iR0Nq9mFOpI/w-d-xo.html

A few tweaks and this would go from a 'good' to a 'great' brick kit. The digital instructions also skip many crucial steps - you've been warned!
