Which Zelda game should be remade or remastered?

- With the Switch 2 coming this year, and Nintendo’s big Switch 2 Direct happening on 2nd April, you would imagine Nintendo will want Zelda to be there. Recently we’ve had an open-world Zelda with Tears of the Kingdom, plus a brand new top-down Zelda game with Echoes of Wisdom, so it’s likely a remake or remaster will be next. But which game will it be? Today I want to dive into that discussion, plus I’ve polled hundreds of Zelda fans to find out what we want next.

They need to remake majoras mask (termina) in BoTW engine, then make it a DLC game. Give link the ocarina of time then he can travel back in time to replay the original (redesigned) quests. Then do the same with OoT. He has the ocarina then goes back in time (in Hyrule) (map edits) then you can replay OoT “in BoTW” just do this with all the other games to remake them in BoTW. For example create a device (maybe a portal) that send link into A Link to the past or any of the other games.
Personally, I want OoT and MM. I’m talking about a from the ground up remake, having insane graphics, better camera, and added content
I'd love this
Zelda 2. It needs more love.
100% agree
Potentially remade in the link to the past style
Zelda 2 getting an overhaul would be nice but The Oracle Games would be awesome
@@publiolabrador no way! I honestly think Zelda II is a great game fundamentally, they just accidentally fumbled an obscene amount of the details so that the actual game ended up being a miserable experience. I'd like an honest sequel to the Zelda II style tbh
@@publiolabradorabsolutely not. Why take away what made it special
I think Metroid Dread and Prince of Persia the Lost Crown are great inspirations for what a Zelda 2 remake should look and play like.
I love this idea 💡
@@darkdragonmedeus705 I’ve heard Dread is more linear and is less of a metroidvania than other games in the series
@@TheRealPSKilla502 It's not quite Fusion levels of Linear, but not quite as convoluted as Super Metroid or the first 2 without looking up guides.
Dread feels really open but its actually quite restricted at some times, the game just guides you without you knowing. But if u explore a ton at the beginning u realize its pretty linear.
The ways we got through Zelda 1 at the time was through Nintendo Powers, Nintendo Hotline, talking to classmates at school, or just luck!
I would die for a Zelda 2 remake. It's still one of the best NES games ever made.
The Oracle games, because it would be relatively simple. Those games were made with a lot of Link's Awakening assets, so why not now? And if "just a remake" doesn't cut it, they could always expand it by doing the originally planned third game.
Do it because it's easy is a pretty bad take. The games are great as they are and easily playable. Why fix what isn't broken?
@@mschmalfeldt What game is "broken" then? The Oracle games are kind of a pain, especially ages.
I'd like them too, but Grezzo just finished Echoes of Wisdom so no shot.
@@lpfan4491 I'm of the belief that Zelda II needs the most fixing. It's not bad per say, but it's extremely esoteric in the way it works. Ages can feel like a slog with Tokay Island and the Zora stuff so I agree with you there.
I would love to play the never released Oracle of Secrets
I feel like I fell into an alternate dimension where A Link to the Past and A Link Between Worlds never existed.
I'm not sure how you would improve A Link to the Past
@@triforcetimes It depends on how you want to go about a remake. You could stick very closely to the original, like the Link’s Awakening remake, or you could do more of a reimagining. If you go the Link’s Awakening route, the most obvious change would be a graphical overhaul. You could use the same art style as Link’s Awakening and Echoes of Wisdom, though I think it’d be nice if they went with a new art style. With that, you could further modernize it a bit, giving it smoother controls, more seamless transitions between sections, quality of life updates, etc. Nintendo could also use a remake as an opportunity to add new content like challenge dungeons. With a reimagining, you’d be free to make more ambitious changes - expand the map and dungeons, modify puzzles, add a new weapon and corresponding dungeon, new secrets, etc. This approach is riskier but could also be more exciting.
@@triforcetimes Truth be told, A Link to the Past is not a priority for me, since the original is already playable on Switch, and is basically perfect as is. The game I really want to see them bring to Switch/2 is A Link Between Worlds, which is currently stuck on 3DS. At the very least, it ought to be ported/remastered, but if you remade A Link to the Past in a shiny new engine, then a full remake of A Link Between Worlds would also be exciting. That’s kind of why I link the two together and possible sibling remakes.
I really think the first 2 games combined into one grand adventure in a BotW/TotK-like gameplay would be absolutely epic.
And maybe have ALTTP be flashbacks or events mentioned since it’s a sequel to the NES titles?
The original two NES titles. I'd also do Link's awakening in 3D, as it is a great story that deserves fleshing out in a modern format.
A Zelda 2 style Metroidvania would be dope. Make it hand drawn 2D.
Metroidvanias, how original 🙄
@ ok how about a piñata simulator based on Zelda CDI?
Original? Like What? A pinball game?
Imagine a jabbu jabbu you can actually see water level differences in for oracle of ages.
Zelda 1 and 2 need full remakes first, but i'd want alttp and albw as well
Maybe combined them both together, if possible?
@solidmage1720 that's what I would prefer, but tons of people already said that, so I didn't need to.
thank god 2/3ds of the video was zelda 2 i love that game
I don't see them remaking Zelda 2 wirhout Zelda 1. Ideally I think both would benefit a lot from remakes as they're kinda the odd ones out when it comes to lore and story. To me remaking them could help smooth over the oddities of that Era of Decline and give us a better understanding of how Hyrule was like during that period.
Conversly a OOT remake would be able to work with or without MM also being remade.
I remember when Phantom Hourglass came out.
Friend: It's so cool, you do almost everything with the touch screen!
Me: That's a repellent if ever I've heard one.
😂
PH was my first LoZ, so obviously some personal bias here, but the touch screen controls are actually very intuitive and work well once you get used to them
Had a great experience playing it on the DS, one of the best on the handheld despite returning to the temple ocean several times
Give us a Link To The Past bundle that includes:
- The main game
- Four Swords, with online or local co-op, and all the linked content you get in Lttp+FS
- The LttP-based Satellaview games, presented as special challenge modes.
I'd be fine with any art style they wanted for this. Original sprite art style, Link Between Worlds-style, LA Remake / EoW style, something brand new. Go wild. I just want all of the LttP-adjacent content in a form that isn't a pain in the butt to actually play.
ALTTP is very good, I'd love to see this
I would love a proper release of Satellaview LOZ and Ancient Stone Tablets. They should also release the originals on VC.
Zelda 2 would be nuts
I'd love to see it
A Zelda 2 remake would be amazing!
I think a proper OoT remake for Switch 2 could be amazing IF it's actually done properly and given an RE2/RE4 remake level of love put into it.
@@inceptional Imagine what an OoT remake would look like with ue5 level graphics, like we’ve seen from fans
They should remake the original to look like Echoes of Wisdom and make it so you have an idea of where to go. I think it's possible, especially after how good the Links Awakening remake was. That's my favorite 2D Zelda so far.
A great game. Hopefully all 4 quests
Please no. I really hate that artstyle.
I've posted this comment in other videos, but my dream Zelda remake would be to combine Zelda 1 and 2 into one since it involves the same Link. I would love lore into the Underworld labyrinths and the seven temples and an epic quest to complete the Triforce. Heck, even if they just made them Zonai things, I'd be cool with it.
Great video. I’m in the OoT camp, but it needs to be a full remake, not another remaster. It seems like those terms were used interchangeably across the video.
@@chadillac22s05 Yeah I’m thinking a RE2 type remake with UE5 level graphics
What can you add to this game that justifies a remake that you can't just do in a sequel? And no, "muh graficks" isn't enough
@ Modern controls and combat mechanics, dungeons with new layouts and puzzles that keep the spirit of the original alive, voice acting, and an orchestrated soundtrack. And yes, modern graphics.
I really really want a Wind Waker HD port !! I don't have a WiiU or GameCube
Great Stuff. I’m all in on Celda. After the likes of games like Granblu and Guilty Gear, I’d like to see a remake of the original Zelda game that goes all-in on the anime art style from the game’s promotional artwork. I mean, why not?
Clicked on the video to comment Zelda 2. I see I'm not alone
I wouldn’t mind a full on 3d remake of the original.
Zelda 2 as a Metroidvania in the grafical style of Monsterboy and the cursed Kingdom
Yeah! 👍
@@triforcetimes when i played through Monsterboy i always imagined how great this would be as a Zelda themed game
I want a new Twilight Princess. Not a remaster, a full remake with modern graphics. It is one of the most popular Zelda games and OOT had an actual remake on 3DS whereas TP only got a meh remaster on Wii U.
@ Agreed, TPHD really didn't do it justice, and it's a crime that it was released right at the end of the Wii U when everyone was already talking about BotW
Zelda 1-2 and the Oracle games would be on my list. I think the oracle set are under appreciated and would be so cool in that chibi art style they use on links awakening and echos
Chibi art style? Seriously?
@ yes. Is that a problem for you?
@@moev29 I don’t like it
@ cool
A link to the past 3D complete overhaul and remake
That could be fun
No love for a link to the past?!
Always wanted a 3d version of that… same exact music and everything…
Just as long as it doesn’t use the EoW artstyle
ALTTP is perfect already 😁
@@triforcetimes it hardly ages. ITs as beautiful now as it was then. The pixel art is fantastic
while i would love to see a link to the past remake, I feel it will be a lot harder to do the original game's pixel art and charm justice. I dont think the chibi art style thats been used with other 2d remakes is quite right for a link to the past. seriously, theres just something special about a lot of snes era pixel art. honestly, if they did do a remake and went with that chibi art style, I would just continue to recommend the original to people. maybe an HD-2d remake could work, but honestly, i would love to see it remade into a full 3d modern graphics style zelda. even if they only went with the top-down perspective. but even better, I would love to see it not be a top down perspective, but the same 3d style gameplay thats been used in the mainline games since OoT.
@ Agreed, I think the chibi artstyle they used with LAHD and EoW makes those games look childish, and I really hope we never see it again
A link between worlds remaster with a link to the past remake
That's big!
Would love a 3d remake of link to the past
Hoping link between worlds is ported to the switch like Luigi's mansion 2. Link to the past will need a remake ground up 4k on switch 2
Nooooo. I love that game how it is. All i want from it, is a port.
@@Lethiria Doesnt need it. LttP holds up great how it is.
Zelda 1, 2, and the Oracle games
Maybe all of them can be combined into one. Maybe make it like Super Mario All-Stars but a bit like RE4make and the upcoming Snake Eater remake.
I reckon remake Zelda 1, but make give Link the ability to rebuild Hyrule from the og map
That would be great 👍
What I really want is a new linear 3D game with the old formula. Is that too much to ask for?
It could happen
Albw and alttp are zelda at its peak, we need more games like those two
@ Those are good 2D games, but I want another 3D game in the old style, like OoT or TP
Zelda 2 & The Oracles NEED remakes big time!
If I could pick though, I'd be having a Minish Cap remake in the LAHD style, with a tough of WWs style to bring that game into the modern style!
A Nintendo 64 duology remaster release would be fire, feel like those two are inseperable.
I think they like money too much
_ALL_ of them 🤗
Yeah 👍
I'm surprised no said they want to see Link to the Past remastered. I would love to see this, but since they are GBC games I think the Oracle games need it more (but Minish Cap needs it less as a GBA game). TBH, I think I'd prefer the Oracle games remastered as a double adventure pack, where it automatically starts you with one and carries into the other with the crossover/continuing story elements automatic and possibly expanded, even if that means you can't pick which of the two to start with anymore.
The games I most want to see full remakes for are the NES ones, though, but even if they were given a full 3D treatment I would prefer that they keep the story of them (though updates to bring them more inline with later made game lore would be acceptable).
A Link to the Past would be great, but how would you improve it? I kinda love it with it's existing graphics
@@triforcetimes Modernized, not "improved," since I also love the original SNES aesthetics. But I'd also buy a version of it built off the new Link's Awakening assets with an updated orchestral soundtrack.
@@triforcetimes Don't mix bombable floors with non-bombable floors that have the same visuals. Especially that one in the last dungeon is a major guide dangit-moment.
A side-scroller Zelda with modern graphics and with the art style of Wind Waker would be awesome
I've been saying a Zelda 2 remake could really elevate it. Think something like the Metroid 2 remake. Zelda 2 was also my first Zelda, so I have a real soft spot for it.
I would love this
There's a pc fan remaster that I could gush about for hours, you should try it, it's less frustrating and much better while still keeping the feel.
While I would love a real remake from Nintendo, this one is great to tide me over until then.
Please try it.
@SimonSaysDeath I've checked it out, it's pretty cool. I didn't like changing the heart containers to pieces of heart so there's more stuff to hunt down to increase your life though lol
@MCastleberry1980 fair enough
@SimonSaysDeath other than that, it's perfect lol I went straight for the first heart container and was like "Crap, now I don't know where a bunch of stuff is"
I’m 95% convinced Nintendo has already made the Oracle Collection using the Link’s Awakening engine and is just waiting for a good time to release it.
Personally, as Zelda Fanboy I truly wanted both Remake & Remastered of Zelda 2: Link’s Adventures & Zelda: Oracles of Ages & Seasons & finally Courage to revival it’s original development from the past into present day & 🔮Futuristic🔮 modern ⏳times⌛️ wise!!!!!
Ocarana of Time 4k
Link to the Past
Ages and Seasons
Minish Cap
Spirit Tracks
Phantom Hoir Glass
ZELDA 2
OG Zelda
Majoras Mask
Twilight Princess.
This order.
Teiforce Heros
Four Swords either order of those 2 is fine.
Link Between Worlds still looks good so it can be last
I would say a Four swords adventure remaster would do well if it had online support. It would probably either have to have some sort of picture-in-picture, or do something similar to Pac Man Vs./Clubhouse Games, though
I have the feeling, that Nintendo will remaster TotK or BotW, since they want to have a 3D Zelda for the Switch 2 release.
I would love to have the Oracle of Ages/Seasons as a remake with the graphics from Links Awakening from Switch. They just need to build the remakes. But I also would love Zelda 1 or Zelda 2.
Like the ideas regarding Zelda2. Other than that and original LoZ on NES, the oracle games are the oldest without any remake, remaster, etc.
My vote goes to giving the oracle games the links awakening facelift, and also if possible without breaking them, merge them into a single game (as opposed to having to switch between the 2 using a password)
Yeah, have the main menu allow you to pick either one anytime and have it automatically save progress on both in real time, oh I would love that!
Modern 3d open world remake of Zelda 2
Yes!
I wouldn't mind if they did phantom hourglass and spirit tracks. however, the main issue is the touch screen, so I'm not so sure how. I think oracle of ages and sage of seasons would be the best choice since they have potential for more lore in the games, along with it being one of the only zelda games I never beat growing up.
My vote is on Zelda 2, but in the style of Nintendo 64 Zelda games, just expanded, less sky boces and more open. Imagine if there was an open world game on the 64. There's something cozy and asmr about the 64's aesthetic. They could sell it for $40, alongside a larger remake. Maybe do Ocarina of time in modern graphics, but I really do think playing a remake of Adventure of Link as if it was a supped up N64 game would be sick.
There are a lot of games in pairs. I mostly want accessibility rather than total remakes. Lots of the legacy games just need adequate ports. The DS WW sequels, Sattellaview games, the NES titles, LTTP/LBW and FS/TFH, FSA/TMC, OOT/MM, TP/WW.
There are honestly so many, but what I would want the most is a 40th Anniversary pack where every game up to that point was in it (including regional versions and an option to play OOT with the Fire Temple chants). I'd pay for it.
One thing I see, if this comes out non Switch 2, it would make sense to sell something big, that would really get the fan base excited.
Ocarina of Time could certainly do that with a remake. Another one I think could do it, would be the Oracles, particularly if they were to make Oracle of Secrets to go alongside it.
Zelda 2 would be amazing, and I loved the game when I played it. But I wonder if it would be the big system seller Zelda remake.
I would need to see it to know for sure, but I think OoT Remake would be safe to really build hype.
Oot is probably the system seller
I really am ready for Wind waker and Twilight princess ports, at least Wind waker come to the switch. It has to happen as i cant wait to get my hands on this after so long. Also nice if they announce link between worlds remaster and Ocarina 3d for the switch. A remake of Ocarina in 4k will be in 2026. Graphics will look stunning real. Majoras mask will follow with added content. Im hoping the direct is this week 🙏 plz!😮😮😮
I’m personally more interested in TP, especially after TPHD was literally set up to fail coming out right at the end of the Wii U when everyone was talking about BotW
I think we'll finally see WW at least in the next direct
Minish Cap 2D/3D. Imagine the game: Grounded like visuals, environments.
Or a 3D remake of LTTP. I love the story in that game and the levels are unique.
But my Ultimate wish is for my favourite Zelda of all time Twilight Princess to be Remade, keep the story the same, same basic elements but an upgrade overhaul visually. More so than HD. Maybe the map expanded some, I’m not talking TOTK size open world or anything but just adding in some cool new areas to explore. The game is near perfect imo though so I’m not sure where to even begin. Or if that game is never touched again, I would love to see a sequel to Twilight in similar art style and asthetics as OOT did with Majoras Mask.
Would love to see a remake of Zelda II. Ocarina of Time would be great too.
I think a ground up remake of Zelda 2 to fix its art style/graphics and the shortcomings in the leveling and combat would be the best choice. I loved how expansive the map was and the sense of adventure, I just didn't care for the final fantasy style of overworld. It just needs a new art style and bring it more in tune with what the rest of Zelda has done.
I think they would keep it a bit too much of the same but I would love if they remade Zelda 2 as a more solid Metroidvania. Expanding the world map sections and making better use of the items to traverse better. I also think the oracle games would make a great remake set if they could pull off the linked extra quest, unless they make it as one complete game.
A Link To The Past might already be a perfect game, but that's all the more reason for a 3D remake of it. An expanded and more populated open world with a vibrant light world that suddenly shifts to the hellish dark world would be amazing. I'm tired of all the top down ALTTP clones like EOW. They're good in their own right but it keeps hurting the idea of an outright remake.
Prediction: Ocarina of Time and Majora's Mask will receive either an HD upgrade, like Super Mario 3D All-Stars, or a complete remake, like Link's Awakening. For a remake, Nintendo could use the assets for both games, thus making development faster and less expensive. I foresee a collection that includes Master Quest versions of both games, or at lease OoT.
If we are talking about an actual remake and not just a one-to-one remaster or something similar to what they did with links Awakening, I have to go with the first Legend of Zelda. I understand the need for Zelda 2 to get a remake, but I think the first game deserves it more, and it will have a greater impact on the switch 2. Taking the first game and updating its level and World design as well as bringing in story Concepts from later games to bring it more in line with the series is opportunity that I don't want to be missed.
Also, I don't believe Master Quest had mirrored dungeons. I'm sure the dungeons had some mirrored elements, but they were mainly remixes of the base game dungeons.
The zelda remake should be Zelda 1 and 2 remakes after Metroid dread. They really need it on swit h 2. Oracles are next but with a darker realistic artstyle😮😮😮
Interesting!
imagine if they remade zelda 2, but in the smash bros engine with smash bros style combat and gameplay. this is something i've thought about ever since the big zelda 2 temple level on smash bros melee
The Oracle games desperately need a remake since the Link's Awakening remake came out.
A Link to the Past.
I'm glad Zelda 2 is finally getting some love in these comments. Perfect game for a Metrodvania Zelda. Nintendo did such a good job with Metroid Dread, Zelda would be amazing
Zelda 2 is long long overdue for a remake. The game is a cake walk to me now , being that the overworld is huge they can add in some post game areas with optional bosses.
While I would love a Twilight Princess remake, I don't think they would do so in a way I would really like. Imagine the game in the art style of the Final Fantasy 7 remake. Regardless, I'll be happy if the HD version gets put on the Switch 2.
Zelda 1 and 2. Since it’s the same Hyrule and Link, let us see a more cohesive backstory on Zelda I and Zelda II.
FromSoft brought on board to remake Zelda II :0
wow, I love it!
The ultimate remake... Nintendo should take note: take the botw engine and remake the original. No extras, just staring straight 1:1 remake.
I wouldn't call OOT on the 3d is a Remake. Just a remaster. If even that as its much more of an enhanced port. OoT Remake is probably the one i hear people asking for the most, and it does make sense given the graphics (and controls) do NOT hold up today, but its still a beloved game by many who grew up with it (not myself, as i grew up with LttP). But i also feel like OoT (and by extension MM) would take a lot of work to remake properly and i don't see Nintendo rushing to do that just to get it out. That will be a 3-4+ year project at least.
The Oracle games i dont think they will do, especially if its in the LA/EoW engine/art since EoW just released. However it would be alot less for for them to do that, and package both of the games in one title. But i think that will be a next year thing, if that.
Zelda 2, that would be another fairly big project i think, and i kinda doubt Nintendo will go back to this style of Zelda game, so i feel like this one wont get touched, especially given how divisive it is.
WW/TP HD ports feel like the safest bet as they would require the least amount of work to port over. They may retouch the graphics a bit more, but shouldn't require much more work than that.
I don't think i want to see Zelda 1 remade or remaster. I feel like just putting it in a new engine alone would ruin the feeling of it.
Personally, id like to see Four Sward Adventures be brought over (and maybe expanded?) but i doubt many would agree with me.
No more remakes! Not every game needs to be remade. Remasters that bring quality of life improvement and upscaled visuals are one thing, especially if it really improves the game like Wind Waker HD, but leave these games as they are.
All of them. Is this a trick question? ALL OF THEM!
1, 2 and the oracle games needs a links awakening treatment
Those are the only games that truly need to be made they would be fun if games had extra levels too
I would rather see more new ones come out, including smaller Zelda games in between like EoW, we don't need to constantly remake everything because it often ends up that that's all we're getting is rereleases and it's just not as exciting
The OG Zelda done with the same style as the Links Awakening remake and Echoes of Wisdom.
I mean, I want, actual remakes of Legend of Zelda and The Adventure of Link, NOT remasters or any more ports of the same, original 1986 and 1987 versions of the games... REMAKES. But, I doubt that Nintendo will remake them, yet again...
The adventures of Link need to be remade so bad right now to give that game some more love cuz I actually enjoyed that game when it first came out, it was a great game in its own right at the time
Yes! 👍
The black sheep of the series it begs a remake!
A Zelda 2 remake for the 3ds was a huge missed opportunity. Almost as much as Duck Hunt 2 for Wii.
Anyone who likes Zelda 2 should check out Pheonotopia: Awakening for a great example of what a modern Zelda game in the spirit of Zelda 2 could be!
Hopefully oracles games get remade
One day
Zelda 1 in the style of the links awaking remake, or the style of the play test the used internally at Nintendo to develop botw. There is far mare room here to add story that was LARGELY missing
Minish Cap, doesn't NEED one, at all, but it would be awesome
Few people want to remake the first game. I understand the ones who do, since the game hasn't aged that well, not in terms of graphics but in weird design choices that has since been improved upon. But there's not much to remake, I see it as the game that started the concept of Zelda. Big overworld, even though it's mostly justs forests, the mountain and the seashore, find the Triforce, defeat Ganon, rescue Zelda, done. It's already been done in later games, games that have been improved upon from the original already.
And that's what I want to see with Zelda II. Either a remake or a new game with the same concept, but it can be improved upon, like getting rid of unnecessary paths and dead ends in the temples, not just relying on magic to refill your health, items like the bow or hookshot and having the sidescroller levels take inspiration from modern Metroidvanias.
One idea I've had for many years is to make the final boss like in Breath of the Wild. That means instead of placing the 6 crystals to access him, or do that but not having him in the final temple, make it so you can fight him as soon as you start the game, but he's too difficult to defeat before you've leveled up. Imagine starting your game and you can go right to start your adventure, or you can go left to fight Dark Link and end the game early. But unlike the original game where he just fights with the sword and only knows the basic stab, this Dark Link knows all the magics, has all the items, has the most powerful weapon and a lot of hit points. If you survive long enough fighting him with the sword, he will kill you with the thunder spell.
@@Thelodis The people who say they want a remake of the original LoZ are usually the same ones who push the narrative that BotW was somehow a spiritual successor because of its open world. What many people forget is that the original was in many ways a dungeon crawler first and foremost, you just had to find the dungeons using some very cryptic hints. In that sense, BotW is nothing like the original, and to say otherwise involves some serious historical revisionism.
Botw and totk would have to be a duel pack
I hope that doesn't happen for years tbh
If I have to pick just one Spirit Tracks. It was my biggest disappointment in the franchise because I love trains and railroads and games with them. So I wanted to love Spirit Tracks but the mandatory touch screen controls just sapped most of the fun for me. Second would be Phantom Hourglass for the same reason. Third would be Wind Waker.
Link to the past
Yes!
this might be a hot take but ocarina of time. given the n64 limitations at the time and also underused mechanics such as how time travel is handled while expanding more substance on the level design, this is one entry that could use the treatment. imagine dungeons that deliver a lot more on their structural layout where the shadow temple is like skull woods or the spirit temple makes better use of time travel without coming as clunky (time blocks need a complete overhaul). z1 does not need a full blown remake but could use a pixel remaster to polish up the performance, clunkiness and better level design organization such as how locks and keys are placed while adding better hints (although without making them too obvious). zelda 2 is another that all it needs is a pixel remaster where the difficulty is less punishing. and while i would like to see oracles remade, i don't trust nintendo with handling them especially if they have grezzo working on them. like the LA remake, which did have some improvements, there were overcorrections and unnecessary changes made and not making some fixes such as the crane game, adding more cracks in bombable walls, still needing the mirror shield to get to turtle rock but not in eagle's tower and leaving the third floor unchanged where it wastes a key block. a remake should have the objective of making fixes on oversights, expanding on mechanics that had limitations, and leaving alone what does not need to changed.
i also would like to see majora's mask remade with oot or at least it could be an unlockable. ikana itself could be like a hidden second act but in general more regions could make better use of the 3 day system outside of clocktown. for example, ikana's fences disappear on day 3 and a path way to the hilltop is open. it could also explain how sakon was able to reach his hideout or how pamela and her father were able to reach the music box house.
Spirit Tracks deserves a remake or even a sequel. It would be cool to revisit New Hyrule and getting to explore. Spirit Tracks has a good story and is criminally underappreciated 🙏
If they did remake Spirit Tracks, they would certainly rework the controls and i think its whimsical characters, the music, and the world would be fun for new players :)
I never got to play Majora’s Mask, so I’m hoping they remake that one.
Imagine the OG game made in Echos art style
@@stevenmosley4982 No thanks
Remake that Zelda game, "Starfox Adventures."
It would be funny if it was the Wind Waker/ Twilight Princess remaster that's been rumoured for years 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Oh gosh no
@triforcetimes tbh I've a strong feeling its OOT fully re-made in 4k. No idea why.
Switch 2 will be backwards compatible. So i dont expect any games currently on the switch to be remade.
Zelda 2 with updated combat would be good.
6:16 I'm neutral, it's an ok game, I don't love it, I don't hate it.
Either the original LoZ or Zelda 2. It will never happen though, as long as that idiot Aonuma has a grip on the series. Sad.
We should be thanking Anonuma for decades of entertainment
@ BS all that men did was run the LoZ into the ground with his idiotic PuZZelda vision of the series. When Fujibayashi decided tho bring the series back to its roots with BotW, LoZ reached its highest point yet. Aonuma is an idiot.
Personally, I think Nintendo should stop with the remasters as fan efforts in emulation continue to blow them out of the water at the low low cost of free however, full on remake would be something to behold and I personally would like to see the Nintendo 64 era given a modern spin. An OoT with a true world to explore and more modern dungeon designs would make me 🍆. Also I probably wouldn’t have the first opinion if I hadn’t just bought a steam deck oled and started emulating everything Nintendo refuses to remastered or in the case of pikmin and dkcr remastered poorly and for a premium price tag.
Link to the past and oot. Maybe majoras mask later.
The actual answer is: None of them. A new Zelda without the use of any previous game ideas or assets is what is needed. TotK and EoW are fine for what they are, but they aren't new. A new Zelda all it's own is the game that should be worked on first above all others.
we got new zelda in 2023 and 2024
