    I love the fact that i can pause Patrick if i want to just take everything I'm looking at into perspective for a second. I can also rewind Patrick if i need to hear something again or fast forward Patrick if i already know what hes talking about. Why can't i do that in school?!?!

    4 years ago I started studying for an engineering degree.. After a while I knew it wasn't for me and so I changed my direction and now I am a medical student...
    One of the absolutely wonderful memories I have of that time is when I watch one of your videos and fully understand a subject I was struggling with...
    Even though I didn't carry on with that direction... but I think I will always remember how amazing your explanation is...
    Thank you.. I hope you are doing well

    I am trying to solve some questions but I don't know how to start. The question is: Find the slope and y-intercept of the graph of the linear equation. Then write the equation of the line in slope-intercept form.
    All it gives me is a graph, it shows clearly that the line passes through -2 on the y intercept line and the travels up into the positive . How do I find the slope? and is the y int just the -2? How do I write the equation? Your videos basically saved my life (AKA my math grade) last year! They are so helpful! Thank you!

    Thank you so much! I paid for the TSI math booster program, so that I have a better shot of not needing remedial math classes for junior college. I kept trying to think of the problem, and what it actually was meaning. Your basic linear equation plus this made much better sense! I'm subscribing so that I never forget the dude that explains math well. Of course ZERO!! Fu$@, Why couldn't they JUST explain Sh@$..if you are solving, your "elevator' always starts at ZERO! I was trying in this prob to isolate, and I was getting a headache telling myself, There is no way to get rid of these numbers.. 3x-3x on both sides? no.. 3x/1.. now what? I felt like the moment my genius brother won in three moves, playing chess with his super secret blitz creed?? move.. That board went flying, but no..I am a grown adult..so I watched this. Thank you.

      Strange... I only know dumb left handed people. I guess It's just because *those two things are not related to each other in the slightest*.
      I'm sick of people drawing lines like that.
      Now, I don't care if your comment is flamebait, but this sort of statement as has really annoyed me for a long time. People tend to cling to assumptions like that and become elitist cunts.

      It does matter if you are left or right handed, you can look it up but it has something to do with the right side of your brain is controlling the left side of your body and the left brainside is controlling the right side of your body, if you are left handed your brain is used mostly in the right side and the left side, mostly for creativity, imagination... Is free to think about all of that, im not a good explainer but i think you get the idea ;)

    @patrickJMT sadly, many math teachers tend to dislike students who don't grasp it easily. I know. I am 51, back to school again. I have been intimidated for years by simple algebra. My high school teachers pronounced me dumb, but actually, i'm fairly smart, I passed English with A's. I just don't grasp these concepts easily. There are a lot of steps, which I don't care for.

  • @patrickjmt
    @patrickjmt  15 ปีที่แล้ว

    this you could not do, as the only intercept is at the origin... (0,0) so that only yields one point on the line.
    you could also let x=1, so as a result, y=1, so that another point on the line would be (1,1) and now you have two points
