BAABS 2XL

BAABS offers many features and benefits, such as improved operator comfort and reduced fatigue, which enhance operator safety and increase productivity. BAABS 2XL has all the same benefits as the original BAABS, plus it gives operators extended reach with their blast nozzles. Blasting overhead is troublesome, and it typically requires an elevated platform or scaffolding to allow an operator to reach these high surfaces. The BAABS 2XL blast nozzle is approximately 30” compared to a standard BAABS blasting setup. This extension sometimes enables the operator to blast overhead without setting up scaffolding or some other work platform. This saves money in setup/take down material and labor. BAABS 2XL also presents a safer blasting operation as the operator does not need to navigate these elevated positions.
BAABS 2XL is also beneficial in blasting surfaces below the operator, such as a tank roof. Blasting downward typically requires the operators to bend over so that the blast nozzle is close enough to the surface for an effective blast. Bending over for an extended period is both difficult and uncomfortable. The BAABS 2XL not only manages the thrust of the nozzle but also allows the operators to stand normally and blast the surface under them. This additional reach is more comfortable and gives the blaster more range of motion as they sweep left and right with the nozzle, increasing their productivity.
The 3-position trigger deadman was designed with two functions in one deadman, giving operators additional functionality while blasting. One function is the Abrasive Cut Off (ACO). The Abrasive Cut Off allows the operator to either blast as usual or operate with air only when blowoff is needed.
Trigger deadman systems before the 3-position trigger deadman required a deadman and an additional ACO switch mounted near the blast nozzle. Operators had difficulty accessing the additional ACO switch while managing the thrust of the blast nozzle. The 3-position deadman is a safer alternative.
