BODYCAM: Allen police release video showing officer who shot and killed shooter

  • WARNING: The story contains details some may find disturbing. Viewer discretion is advised.
    Body camera footage of the Allen Premium Outlet mall mass shooting was released Wednesday after a grand jury no-billed the officer who shot and killed the shooter.
    The Texas Rangers and the Collin County District Attorney’s Office presented the evidence to the grand jury. The grand jury's no-bill means that after reviewing the evidence, they ruled the use of force was justified under Texas law.
    Eight people were killed and several others were injured when a gunman opened fire at the Allen Premium Outlets on Saturday, May 6.
    The body camera footage released Wednesday showed the tragic events from the officer's perspective. The video was edited to blur out the faces of civilians and victims, and some language has been removed, Allen police said.
    The video starts with the officer speaking to a mother and her two kids when more than 10 gunshots are heard off in the distance. The officer calls in the shots fired over the radio and another round of gunfire is heard. The officer grabs his weapon and tells shoppers to get down.

    • @Elithrae
      @Elithrae 4 หลายเดือนก่อน

      They didn't take "forever" to get into the school. They literally stood there while the kids were screaming in agony and fear. There's literal footage of them standing around talking, where it's literally got subtitles to mention "Sounds of children screaming have been edited out."
      They literally stood there listening to babies die, while they were kitted to the nines, and there was an ENTIRE GROUP OF THEM. A LARGE GROUP.
      They let children be sacrificed on the altar of their cowardice. So yeah, people absolutely need to know about that.
      The reason no one's talking about this is because it was a clean shoot and there wasn't controversy. And this? Is the outlier. We have more cops who do bad and are cowards than good officers, by a mile.

      He experienced an adrenalin dump when he heard the initial gunshots. Then, against his natural instincts to avoid danger, he didn't walk, he ran towards the threat. That caused another adrenaline dump. He may as well have had an elephant on his back as to have that much adrenalin in his system and still keep moving forward after more than a minute or two. Adrenaline is an instant stimulant, too much for too long has an opposite effect. No amount of physical or tactical training could prepare a person to do better than he did. Were you watching the same video? The Officer was in what seemed to be in pursuit. I heard gun shot clearly but could not see a shooter. At one point it looked as if someone went into a store and more shots fired. Yet no one. Cop calls out passing injured. I guess he was looking inside the stores while walking quickly by. Yet doors never opened. No one walked out or in any of them. I see him fire his weapon but I can't see what he is shooting at. It is clear. You can see down the sight. Line of fire. No muzzle flash but I think I heard a few more shots fired. Even the officer clearly states he no longer hears shots fired but the assailant is down? Then the proof of a deep fake video shows itself at 6:06 and forward.

    I think this officer has done some time in the military based on a couple of things. the mere fact that he ran in on foot not to give his position way and to listen on where the fire is coming from is one. range and direction of target engagement for him. The second was the exceptional weapon discipline he had right before he neutralized the target. We conduct reflexive fire training and always have to manipulate the safety on our weapon systems. He took it off safe, fired 3 slow rounds, went back into cover putting it in safe. Then came out of cover flipped the selector switch back to fire and rapidly fired 3 rounds. once he was done he put that weapon back on safe. For those that say his vest is heavy, its not. Hes wearing a IIIa Vest which has little weight to it. however his duty belt is where all that weight is. be glad that hes is not wearing level IV plates. I carried level IV plates on 4 deployments and those are heavy (front, back and side plates all 1 inch thick). He was running on pure adrenaline and even with everything hes done, he was calm under pressure. I commend him for neutralizing the hostile threat and I hope that he is awarded for his bravery. outstanding
