WOW I have advanced glaucoma in both eyes, 5 retina detachments & other crap. This product looks amazing. My day is approaching fast & this gives me a positive outlook.
I enjoy books better when in audiobook format. With this my entire bookshelf suddenly looks much more appealing. I wonder if you can change the voice it reads in at all.

Hi Luke, Rahila here. 😁. Great demmo, my family recently ordered Orcam 2.0 for me (as I’m completely blind), I began practicing with it yesterday. Found it a little ocverwhelming, but thanks to finding your vid now, I feel I can proceed practicing on mine with confidence. Cheers 😁. I feel it’s easier to get the hang of the more one practices, and gets used to wearing a second skin, so to speak 😏🧐. But generally speaking, yeah I love Orcam, and I look forwards to eventually using mine as second nature! 😁😄😂😂☮️

Blind or Low vision people who have extreme allergies (anaphylactic shock) to certain ingredients need something to read the ingredients.. i also need to identify which prescription bottle, dose, times per day, . and read my glucometer and draw my syringe with insulin ... I need help with reading a street sign or a isle sign in the grocery store.. I'm monoocular with progressive sight loss. Can the orcam do this..? and with my situation, do you recommend the My Eye Pro 2 or just the READ? How do i get my insurance to pay for these? do i need a letter of medical necessity from my doctor? I'm sure enabling the patient to be independent with these orcams would be less than having a live in care provider.. I have to test my blood sugar 8 to 10 times each day and thru the night.. I'm 100% hypoglycemic unaware so without constant testing, i run the risk of my respiratory arrest if it drops too low without warning. Doctors even opthamologist are clueless on resources and support for those drastically loosing their eye sight. And for those who live alone without family or support, that is a scary situation. I have a daught who has low vision. How can I order this?
This is probably here, but I have no sight at all and I have an Or Cam Mayeye too. First of all. Please forgive my iPhones dictation, as it can be rough sometimes. However, without any site, being blind from birth, how do I know how far away to position in a text from the Or Cam camera? I have it set on the right side of my classes. I also have not used advice like this ever in my life. Of course, I have not had this device long, and I’m still learning how to use it. Since I am blind, finding a text is pretty useless right now. So, how is it done when you can’t see a thing? Thank you for your help today,

Hi Ashleigh, I recommend holding the text about three quarters of arms length away from the center of your nose. Centering the text with your nose is key so, if the text is being held low, you'll want to crane your next lower than you think you should to ensure that you get everything from top to bottom.

Hi Leo, thanks for watching! Although this feature may not be as practical for those who are Blind, it may assist users who are Low Vision that can tell that text exists but cannot read it. In addition to this optional method of reading text, you can also use the full page method in which you tap the side of the device. From there, it will read everything and anything in front of you that is (reasonably sized) printed text within a 70 degree field of view. Will this work for people with optic atrophy, where the optic nerve is no longer viable, and the person's visually acuity is almost at zero?
Hi Grace, yes it will. There is no visual component to the Orcam it is purely auditory and so will work no matter what the level of vision loss.

What happen if you use face recognition to a 1 year old, then 5 years past, the orcam will still recognize the face?

It unfortunately cannot read the card suits, although it can read the numbers. Have you tried utilizing large print cards in your games? Would be even better if this device can locate the lift, shops, giving directions etc. Price should be made more affordable
O, one more thing. Good if this device can communicate with other objects like lifts etc. Just get into the lift and say which floor you going.

Great presentation but a friendly suggestion - background visuals are highly distracting - the big 99$ sign and words on the whiteboards and cars wizzing past in the window keep taking your focus off the presenter. In future do your presentations with blank background or less noisy,

Hi Nancy! The rate of speech can be increased by saying "Hey OrCam, reading speed up" or by double tapping to activate voice commands and saying "reading speed up."

I don't understand why this thing is so much.. Phones can almost do this exact thing.. I realize I'm commenting on a year and a half video but still..
Yes there are some apps that can do that on the phone, But if low vision person is working I think that's better to have the glasses version instead of taking photos over and over with phone... I am visually impaired. I have most of the apps on my phone already but I am looking into these glasses because I can see how the glasses can help me better than the apps.

The product and eyeglasses would actually be visible to your customer base if shown with a white background instead of that tv screen in the background. I can’t see the device or the eyeglasses. Think low-vision.
Does it have the option to talk via earphones or earbuds? If I were to try something like this while reading a customer's credit card, that would be a personal security issue. Otherwise I love the concept; especially if it could help me get a driver's license.

Hi Sylvis! This is an audio based device and does not enhance or utilize anyone's remaining vision so it would work for someone with AMD as long as they are not hard of hearing or Deaf.
