@@ryanv1279 What do you think causes it? Dehydration? I have never puked, but pushed it to collapsing and laying on the ground for a while. I feel bad for you guys.
@@natehartwell3402 For me the biggest thing is sleep. If i get no sleep the night before a 20+ mile day ill definitely puke and ill continue puking alllll day until i take a nap.
Danny: “We’re going to go paddle boarding.” Me: “Ah, what a nice, chill start to my morning.” Danny and crew: **Starts to free solo Moran** Me: **Nervous Sweating Intensifies**
Every time y'all post a video I feel compelled to open up alltrails and plan a big route. That free solo scrambling would've sketched me out though. I'll leave that to you guys!
Like your style, light and fast! Did the CMC back in the day with a group, tents, camping gear, food, and we bushwhacked to the approach and belayed the climb. A real slog. Headed into town one night from the ranch I spotted a guy on the side of the road in the dark. He needed a ride into town, He had just finished doing the Cirque. Five peaks in less the 24 hours. That is Real light and Real fast! I remember standing on a field of scree near the summit, when it all started to slide a few feet. Hearing large rocks tumbling and hitting the snow field with a splash. Love the Tetons and the Snake River. Had some good times there.
I just did my first scramble this past weekend and felt like I was going to die the entire time. Then Danny and crew go do this which is 100x worse than what I did. Can’t imagine free climbing that with so much exposure.
Notice at 10:59 the smooth, controlled movements, not looking down but focusing on what's in front of you - that's how to safely climb while unroped. They are not rushing and making it look easy
Agreed - these guys are ballers. Noob climber here, but I was wondering if they should take turns climbing in case the lead guy falls or kicks off a rock?
@@jmiya1 it's better if they are closer together, that way if a loose rock falls it is less likely to hit the other person. For example, if there's a second group further below and a rock is dislodged, where that rock will go is unpredictable and if it hit a person with high speed and force, it could be deadly
I feel like every time a new Mediocre Amateurs videos is uploaded it is Christmas! I love your content and all of the adventures you guys take. Keep up the great work!
Great video! Inspired us to make this into a "picnic" style day, riding bikes from Gros Venture camp with packrafts, soloing the CMC and back in a day. Stellar day out and made the bike, paddle, climb from camp to summit in 8 hours! Thanks for providing the stoke.
Excellent work Danny. It takes a lot of commitment to film your adventures and stay focused on safety and having your head in the game. Not to mention the suffering of editing your videos when you get home.
Another epic journey tag along. I can't thank you guys enough for bringing us all with you on your adventures. I'm glad nobody died on drizzlepuss. 😎🙏🏼💯☮️💓💪
I love this spot. I was just there in July and did the same trip (without going all the way up to the summit though). That paddle across String Lake and Leigh Lake is worth the price of admission -- especially on a clear, smoke-free day.
One of the best action outdoor channels and definitely one of my very favorite channels that I follow on TH-cam and I follow a lot! Next video can't come soon enough :) You deserve way more views! What an adventure this was, wow, fantastic action and scenery!
just got the free solo of Moran this summer with a partner, we brought gear but never felt the need to rope up. very fun climb and outing, these videos helped morale going into these sort of objectives in the tetons. aiming for Grand traverse next summer
Nice day out. Hilarious that you took paddle boards and got away with it. Years ago as an Exum Guide I was crossing in a canoe. Luckily my client had some J-stroke game and I provided the horse power. But on the way out the wind was gnarly and we actually had to pull over and eat berries until it died. Pretty epic. Clearly, the glass was in your favor but if the afternoon freight train came out of Leigh Canyon, you guys woulda been bush bashing with those boards. Type 3 fun for sure. Since then I've done it with tandem kayaks and it's a nice compromise. Anyway, makes me want to go back. Been a long time. Cheers.
The alert on my phone is second in excitement to the drumming at the start of every episode. Seriously I look forward to every episode. Keep it up. You still inspire...
Awesome. I lived too far away to climb Moran but always wanted to do it. Good with the SUP. But no, I only do dog walks. But this really shows what the terrain looks like. Thanks! PS, go climb the battleship in GCNP. Start hiking at sunset. there used to be a trail up to the summit from the notch. At Full Moon. Use dim lights, at the big bend past 1.and a half mile resthouse traverse off BA to the battleship notch. SFollow the sheep trails traversing off the BA. and maybe all trails as your guide? looking and chilling on flat deck and hike out in the morning and have breakfast at el tovar after your long hike, or something. Its very beautiful. There is also Cope Butte off the Hermit as a day hike. Ride bikes not take the shuttle and get the exposure of a knife edge.
We've been rewatching your videos for like a month now - we find them so refreshing during these crazy times - super happy to see a new one today - and man adding the SUP was amazing!
Starting at first light? Isn't that kind of a late start for you guys? Awesome vid as usual. Many thanks for the map overlay you include. I wish more adventure channels took the time to show us the map.
There used to be a trail that went around Leigh lake, on the north side, that passed right by the scree slope you started on. So many trails are not maintained by the park "service".
Nice little scramble/solo! When this whole covid mess is over you should take a trip to British Columbia and sample some of the mountain goodies we have here. There's some amazing alpine adventures just in and around Vancouver. As always, love the footage and the banter.
Honestly class 4/5 free solo scramble / climb. I didn’t even know it was possible to squeeze this much adventure into one outing. You are true weekend warriors. I still can’t believe you aren’t sponsored.
Years ago ,the local rangers told me it was an impossible climb and had never been climbed . Though BS and climbed it , Exum ridge earlier in the week . 1964 .
So strange to see the tops of these mountains are just covered with loose boulders, rocks. This is amazing to me--I can't stand heights, even watching gets to me. Thanks for the video.
You guys need to do the Enchantments Trail in Washington (it’s next to a dope German town) do it as a thru hike in a day and you won’t need a permit, it’s what we did...it’s a soul crusher, with some incredible views! Love you guys, keep doing what you do!
Your videos never fail to impress me yet another top end “mediocre” adventure, good on you all for continuing to make the most of trips and providing us with top quality content!!!
Amazing views at the summit! 😯 Though I am bummed about the fires going on out there especially in Colorado. I pray that the fires will be contained. This adventure was cool! Gave me motivation to keep going out there. 😁
Amazing. I think your confidence, talent, endurance and strength gets you through these challenges. An accident will make you more cognizant of the importance of taking a more conservative approach perhaps. A risk all extreme athletes take.
Looking at that summit, I thought “The Grinch Who Stole Christmas” mountain without snow. Like it was drawn by a 1960s animator. But I was raised in Fl, where mountains are 500 ft above sea level. Totally awesome climb.
Would you be willing to make a video one of these days showcasing the type of gear you take out on your excursions? Youre really motivating me to get out and do some adventuring
You guys should come back to Washington sometime and explore the Pickets. They are some adventurous mountains. I have a video on my channel of me climbing West Mcmillan Spire with a friend. A member of my local climbing community (Fletcher Jordan) has a video of his party climbing Mount Terror and Mount Degenhardt, which are the climbs I would recommend you guys look in to.
I have some good tips on counselors but somehow I have doubts you'll take advantage of them so if you keep going stay safe. A wise man once said "If in doubt, don't" Thanks for sharing.
