  • The HP Pavilion 6736 was a small, low-power desktop from the year 2000. Originally powered by an ancient Intel Celeron processor with sub-1 GHz clock speeds, and featuring memory and storage with less than a hundredth of the capacity of what is in a modern system, it was just begging to be upgraded.
The goal was not to make any changes to the outside of the Pavilion 6736 case. However, the small-form-factor case presented difficulties. Numerous modifications were made to the case to fit and cool much faster hardware, including integration of a custom softline water cooling loop.
    PC parts:
    - Case: HP Pavilion 6736 (circa 2000).
    - Motherboard: Gigabyte B450 I Aorus PRO WIFI.
    - CPU: AMD Ryzen 7 2700X.
    - Graphics Card: NVIDIA GeForce RTX 2060 Super Founders Edition.
    - Memory: 16 GB of Dual-Channel Corsair Vengeance RGB PRO DDR4 3200MHz C16.
    - Storage: Samsung 970 EVO M.2 NVMe solid state drive.
    - Power supply: be quiet! BN639 SFX L Power 600W 80 Plus Gold.
    - Radiator: Alphacool ST30 Full Copper X-Flow 140mm.
    - Fittings: Alphacool HF G1/4 to 10mm ID, 13mm OD chrome compression fitting, 0° and 90° variants.
    - CPU water block: Phanteks Glacier C360a for AMD AM4 CPUs.
    - Graphics card water block: Corsair Hydro X Series XG7 RGB for 2070 Founders Edition cards.
    - Tubing: Corsair Hydro X Series, XT softline, 10/13mm ID/OD, clear.
    - Pump/reservoir: Corsair Hydro X Series XD5 RGB pump/reservoir combo.
    - Fans: Corsair QL Series, QL140 RGB, 140mm RGB LED.
    - Pump/fan controller: Corsair Commander PRO.
    - Coolant: Corsair Hydro X Series XL5, clear.
    - Fan Filter: BQLZR Black 14cm 140mm.
    - USB Front Panel: E-sds USB 3.0 2-Port 3.5 Inch.

My first pc was a pavilion from around that time period. Had a pentium 4 with a 1.5. I always thought those old cases looked cool. Nice job!

Got pretty much the same Pavilion, and I want to do something similar. I will probably use this as a loose sort of guide. Nice!

you really shouldnt exaust hot air from the underside of the case. I really hope you gave it a black sata dvd drive, that would be so awesome

Instead of an external psu you should have just opted for an external radiator instead, that single 120 rad is just not enough for that thing.
