    Everything is beautiful! As I have entered my 50’s, I have begun leveling up my wardrobe. I noticed how you have higher end pieces when you only have a 10 item wardrobe. It makes perfect sense to spend more for good quality and less quantity. Also, I purchased the Blumene with your discount and it really works! Thanks!😊

    I think the Pajama Brunch dress would look less like a nightgown with a different belt.

    Thank you for doing these comprehensive 10 item wardrobe videos again. As I’m in Australia my seasons are always the opposite of yours so my process is to watch all your old videos for my season to get excited and inspired to put together my new and returning wardrobe for that season. This video will get watched again by me in six months time ready for summer.

    I’m slowly getting my ten item wardrobe.
    First week at work I wore skirts all week
    Second week I wore all pants but in a different shade of color
    Third week (this week) I’m wearing all dresses.
    But it’s been fun it’s Soto look forward to every day. Makes me feel pretty and happy in my clothes. Enjoy dressing up everyone 🌸🌷🌸

    Your wardrobe is so chic and elegant. I don’t know how you do it with four children and housework as well as cooking but I always enjoy the beauty of your outfits. Having only a few items is so easy and satisfying. The brands you have been buying lately seem to be a good fit for your aesthetic. ❤

    My opinion is that the wool skirt is pretty, but is more for autumn and winter. Years ago, a male friend of mine actually taught me a lot about fashion (he made a lot of money and shopped at high-end stores, such as Barney's and Louis of Boston, where they served us champagne while we browsed!). He was careful not to be “a man for all seasons,” meaning wearing the wrong fabrics for the season, or a combination of them, such as lightweight summer pants with a heavy wool winter jacket. Until he taught me that, I had been mixing and matching whatever I wanted.

    • @Glowupby40
      @Glowupby40 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +6

      What an interesting opinion! Here in Norway, we see wool as an all year fabric. And the summer is hot and bright(no night). Wool helps regulate body temperature and wick away moisture, so we see it as perfect for summer and also… for working out! T-shirts in thin merino are such a staple on my summer excursions😊

    This is comment I left on your ''This Wardrobe System Guarantees Elegance'' video a month ago: ''I don't think I've ever felt so inspired by any fashion video or article. I don't even know if I agree or not. But you've made me think and FEEL (!) something about clothes for the first time in a very long while.''
    I feel the same way, if not more, now. So inspiring. I'm getting a couple of the pieces; the skirt, definitely.
    Two questions, where is your snow leopard dressing gown from? It's beautiful! And if you you don't mind, for reference, what is your size and height? If you don't want to, don't feel pressured. I'm small and I have trouble finding clothes that fit well.

    You have inspired me to teach a class to a group of girls from church about carefully building a wardrobe. These concepts would have been so helpful to me if they had been instilled at a young age! The idea of using 3 adjectives is fun. My summer words are Flowy, Crisp-cool, Intriguing. As a couple of other people have commented, I’m gravitating towards natural fibers. I was pleased to find that J. Crew Factory has all-cotton midi dresses in pretty fabrics.

      That is such a great idea! I am having a really hard time helping my daughter, age 12, curate a fashionable but modest wardrobe. We are finally making some progress. It’s a tough age. I agree with your JCrew factory source! Nordstrom and Dillards have some good options for the tween age; more off-the-beaten-path options that I have discovered are Busy Bee Kids, Bella Bliss, Maisonette, Hayden Girls, Bisby, and Mini Boden. Vineyard Vines and Polo have nice sales, too. Jennifer’s wardrobe principles have been so helpful in this process. I hope those suggestions are helpful, and if you have further recommendations, feel free to share ☺

    I'll also mention that Old Navy has shorts like this and several others that are longer and high waist. They even have some with an adjustable waist!! I've ordered 4 pairs of their shorts recently and love them all! My favorites have been a tailored pleat look and the paperbag waist. They also have a linen short, long jean shorts, and a few others that are longer and have a larger leg opening.

    I wear clothes like this when I go to church or work or somewhere but everytime I get home Im ready to get back into comfy clothes. I wish this weren't the case!! Any tips on how to keep the nice clothes on from morning til night?

    • @amberupton7421
      @amberupton7421 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +23

      I think it’s perfectly ok to wear your beautiful clothes out and about and change when you get home. I have a few “uniforms” for when I’m home all day or get home from church for example. They are not old sweats! They are nice casual and comfortable clothing that I don’t feel restricted wearing. I love watching Jennifer’s old videos when her style and lifestyle were more like mine. She’s evolved and is in another level. I feel her life is quite formal, very prim and proper, Victorian I suppose! That is not me. You can be classy without the pretence if you like. Have you watched “Diane in Denmark”? She has a lovely, classy style that is more relaxed.

      Nice clothes can also be comfortable. A cute dress, shift style or elastic waist, is just like pulling on a tee shirt, plus no buttons or zippers to mess with. If you are cooking, use one of the pretty aprons that are out there on the market to prevent splatters from getting on it (I am looking at you, April Cornell!)

      @melissaseverance6494 3 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      I also have church dresses that I change out of when I get home. The dressier items can be considered “extras” which is helpful to consider. They tend to not be the natural fabrics I prefer to wear around the house anyway and I have a neutral pair of heels I like to wear on Sundays which I definitely won’t be wearing around the house. :)

    These are my absolute favourite of your videos Jennifer - and I love seeing how you have refined your style over the years too! My style words have remained the same for a few years, but they are feminine, statement, polished. Feminine in terms of shapes and fabrics. Statement is usually by colour or print, but sometimes shape! And polished - I like just two or three colours in an outfit, I don’t like anything that is ripped/distressed/unfinished, or that is too oversized. Would love to hear about anyone else’s style words and how they apply them in their wardrobe!

    In the US in the 60s, 70s, 80s, people would wear nice clothes all the time. Sure it’s fine to be comfortable, but if you buy clothes that are comfortable to start with there’s no reason to take them off when you get home. Unless of course you’re doing chores and you might get dirty, such as gardening or cleaning or mopping sweeping. Women would wear dresses to do their housework. I grew up seeing my mom do this and our neighbors. This is just a way of huge company selling more clothes telling people and brainwashing people with the idea that they have to be in some type of baggy sweats made out of polyester that keep us so hot.

And now I bought the blumene trought your link and I'm impressed with the results. I have a question: Do you use it 5 minutes for all the face áreas ( 1 minutes for forehead, 1 minute for each side of face and jawline?) Or can I use 5 minutes in each area? Slip shorts are like bike shorts but longer. Much more comfortable under skirts and dresses during the summer. You can also apply a chaffing cream. Runners use them as well. My preference is the slip shorts underwear in a neutral colour.
