saw Adge at the World Cider Drinking Championships in Weston=in-Gordano in 1969; the bloke who won drank about 12 pints in 30 mins and then threw up all over Adge...what a larfffff!!! thee snow wot I do mean
What many won't realise is that the Bristol motto was Virtute et industria and the L was added by Adge as that's what Bristolians do to any word ending in A. A camera is a cameral and there's no audible difference between "area engineer" and "aerial engineer" as both are pronounced the same.
A great song by a true legend about the best city in the universe. 6 happy years as an apprentice at Filton, best technical education in the world at Bristol Aeroplane Technical College (and Bath University when it was still in BRISTOL). Really wish I could get back there. Have to make do with occasional day trips but it seems to me Bristol just gets better and better.
Many many thanks for the posting this, heard it by Fred Wedlock but sung by Adge with extra verses is awesome. I've been after Adge singing this for ages, for me the Bristol anthem
Looks like you are having a wonderful time nothing like music for keeping you young ?? I am still dancing and playing the Ukulele with the Neilson String !! Good fun We are sometimes on Facebook Ha Ha
Adge is such a legend
Reminds me so much of my old man, he used to sing this all the time on our way down to Ashton Gate.

Can confirm. My brother-in-law's father enjoys his "avocadal on toast".
e.g. was called "Brigstowe" c. 1400. Adge wasn't that old!
The Ford Fiesta was launched in Bristol as the Ford Fiestal
A Bristolian railway signals inspector was told to get rid of his 'Ls' when he was promoted and transferred to Swindon.
Memories of my first love, Rowena, from Minehead. Sadly, I was 12 and she was about 24, but I could kid myself!!!

Not sure it's actually Adge singing - the intro says he's gone to water the wurzel plants so could be another band member.
