- Today we are hunting for rare and valuable commemorative coins, we are hunting through a big bag of £250, direct from the Bank!
We are hunting for new coins from the UK to add to our collection of 50p coins.
We are hoping to find all of the Beatrix Potter coins (including Jemima Puddleduck, Peter Rabbit and Flopsy Bunny), all of the Paddington Bear coins, the very rare Olympic coins, including the football 50p (offside rule) and Triathlon and Judo, perhaps one day we might even find a 'lines over the face' Aquatics! We are, of course, also looking for the rarest 50p of them all, the 2009 Kew Gardens 50p Coin.
We also collect coins from the British territories; Jersey, Guernsey, Gibraltar, Falkland Islands, Isle of Man or even St Helena!

To be honest LAFTA I don’t know how long I have been following you it has been a while,I know that I can look at your videos all the time if and when I can,you are lively to listen to and honest with your values of the coins that you show your subscribers.
Q I am still not sure what is the best way to set my 50p coin book out would you maybe when you have time could you make some suggestions.

A very good hunt Lafta, Flopsy is a very undervalued coin in my book, In time that will be a £10-12 coin.

Quality wins out in the end. It was looking dicey early doors, then the Pentathlon appeared, and the ball gathered momentum! Flopsy Bunny is a great find, and I can't understand why its value is reasonably low considering the mintage. 👍

@@LAFTA There’s just something about the suffragette coin that totally fascinates me I don’t collect them for financial gain. I also have a few proofs, silver proof and piedfort and quiet a few BU. All I’m missing is a Gold proof would love one but the cheapest I’ve seen is just short of 900. Keep up the good work - big fan of your vids 👍
I'm always on the lookout for picture coins in my change 😂. However sometimes I deliberately buy someone, ask the tiller for any picture coins and sometimes (particularly if they're not busy) they'll look for me ❤. It's the anticipation ever time 😅

Flopsy bunny best today. I found some weeks I can go with no commemorative then the next week afew pop up but definitely getting harder to find in your change. Fantastic hunt 😄 keep um coming
You never know what can show up, I have never had Benjamin Bunny or the tale of peter rabbit show up in change I got them from a coworker yet I've had a table tennis 50p, a £2 underground roundel and best of all a 2006 Baliwick of Jersey £2 coin of which only 15000 were minted for that year.

Wow LAFTA what an amazing hunt 😊👏👏. Lots of fabulous keepers with Flopsy and the Olympics taking top spot 👌. When all the 2020 shields are released do you think this will affect the amount of Commemoratives going into circulation as the mintage is so high ?

excellent finds Lafta. I haven't done a coin hunt in ages. Have you done any vending machine hunts recently. I am struggling to find machines that take coins now.
I always try the one at work now and again! Not much luck recently though!!
New to the channel and coin collecting, have you done any videos or be interested in doing any of Channel island 50p's ?. Both Jersey and Guernsey have their own version of pound sterling and some minting. It's hard to find mintage figures for them so if you know anywhere with info that would be great.

It would be nice to do a review of the "special" coins at the end to pinpoint the wood from the trees
Problem with that is that people just skip through the video to the end then, therefore destroying the videos ‘viewability’ by TH-cam. It’s a bit of a balancing act, thanks for the suggestion!

Amazon probably the best bet. I have videos with all of the values and mintages that are fairly recent, will probably do an updated version soon-ish

I must admit I do not coin hunt, but any picture coins that turn up in my change get put to one side, so I am guilty of removing them from circulation, I have about a pounds in face value coins ...
