I think the flip 4 and the flip 5 have good sound quality
The flip 4 is the perfect flip. Everything after just trying to be a Charge 4/5 in a smaller package but sounding like the Charge 3.

Yea but the bass drowns the most important elements in music I feel I has a little too much bass but that's bc of my audiophile self
@@dabeanne if you were an audiophile, you would know that the flip 5 doesn't drown out in bass because it is reduced as the volume increases. Also not to mention that the flip 4 at maximum is unusable due to the ear piercing treble boost at max.

Essential is basically the flip 3 with a new name. Jbl probably has a ton of Flip 3s in storage that they are trying to sell.

@@FLUFFS but the essential goes 5hz lower on the bass. Sure it’s not a huge difference, but it’s nice to have.
In the recording the flip 5 sounds the best but don't be fooled, the 3 and 4 sound really good irl with the 5 having more boomyness but not being necessarily better sounding to everyone, especially because the mono speaker is mounted off-center.
Edit: After spending a solid month with both a Flip 5 and Flip Essential (flip 3 without JBL connect but a little more bass) I can safely say that the flip 5 is a waste of money. The Essential is also waterproof and sounds much clearer. At lower volumes there is less bass but at max volume they’re about the same, but since the flip essential doesn’t have as much bass to begin with, it actually doesn’t have the same “bass loss” as you increase the volume
tbh flip 5 isnt a waste of money..., Its the performance and quality of what flip 5 gives you, Flip essential (aka, flip 3 renamed) Can only go Down to 80Hrtz which is Kinda good but not bassy compared to flip 5.. And the sound quality cannot be compared to flip 5 lol

I got the flip 1 and the flip 5 reason I upgraded to the flip 5 is because I’ve had the flip 1 for a while Actually Christmas back in 2012 is when I got it I have had it for a while and I have spilled paint on it dropped it multiple times and the original one still works I just upgraded hopefully this one stays cleaner than the other on did lmao 😂

I have JBL Flip 3 Stealth, And it sounds way better in real life, I still prefer it over the Flip 5
yet the bass is less thoug ... I had these both and the flip 5 Sounds clearer, And My flip 3 has some battery damage lol It can't last 5 hours

The Flip 4 Is the way to go because it's the last one with the aux port and also it sounds almost the same as the flip 5 so its not worth the upgrade from the flip 4 also the bass drowns out the high and mids for the flip 5 so the flip 4 is the best choice in my opinion

In practice I never bother with a cable when I'm camping as I tinker with my phone too much but the battery life is extended a lot by using one.
Still gonna go for the flip 5 since its louder and bassier... Never cared of AUX considering my laptop and desktop had Bluetooth connectivity
