The story in short like:Kerala agreed to build mullaperiyar in Kerala for the existence of thamil people.. So they got enough water and huge profit. But now due to this dam our life is in danger zone. If it broke there will be a huge disaster and huge amount of people will die. But thamil government is not ready to rebuild this dam. Such a good people🙂

Thank god.....Some how we crossed this year...why can't we think about outer dam in our property...if in case the current dam break...it will protect Kerala..and we have huge source of hydro electric power which we can rent out if we build outer dam.... (something like oil in gulf) we are sleeping on top of diamond and thinking it is a bomb ....

A very easy solution is found without decommissioning the dam, without building new dam, also at low cost. Now water is being taken thru a tunnel at about 100 feet height. So only water above this level can be used by Tamil nadu. A new tunnel at 50 feet height can be constructed, which will solve this problem, maintaining water at 70 feet instead of 140 feet now. That brings the danger down to very minimum if the dam collapses. A study is conducted in this matter and found feasible.. but still political talk is only about new dam.. !!! New dam costs anything from 20000 to 30000 crores and takes 10 to 15 years. This solution costs only 3000 to 4000 crores with no interruption to water flow. There is big money in new dam, so they are not interested in any other solution. So 20 to 25 lakhs lives are in danger.

If any dam anywhere in the world bursts it is catastrophic .
This dam is structurally safe but yet if people feel afraid . Then Kerala should build a new dam downstream big enough .

This is 125 year old dam, normally dam like this will expire within 50 years, its only in the god grace its standing still. It may collapse any day. Please pray for us
