Hi Elucia. Thanks for watching! Even my spirited drives on clear roads are relaxing for me, it's the whole point. Well, focusing on surprises in the road can be tiring, but the nerves wind down. :) This is my only car, so I use it year round.
It must be reinvigorating to be out on that beautiful mountain road in a roadster on a cold early morning.I have a GoPro camera and a Miata, but I don't know how to mount the camera in the car. Maybe you can show us sometimes. Thanks for the fun video.
Hey! Good to hear from you again. As a Coloradan, it's pretty normal temperature wise, and yes, I am wearing hiking sandals, like a good Coloradan. lol These drives are energizing but even more relaxing, if that makes any since. You aren't the only person asking about the camera mounting. I'll try to remember to include that my next video. I have some GOOD nose cam videos taken with my old GoPro Cube. Video: "Angry Miata on the Platte River," one of my favorites. Not 4K, but the sound quality is amazing! No wind noise at all, just tires and engine! Still working on nose cam audio with this GoPro 9. :/ Thanks for watching and keeping up!
Had a 1992 Sunburst Yellow Miata that I bought new. Most days I would spend my lunch hour driving backroads instead of eating. It’s the only sports car I’ve ever owned that made me want to do that.
Heyhowyadoin, Rex?! Take comfort in knowing you're perfectly fine! Uncle Dan used to love driving around the mountain roads just north of Santa Fe for lunch... In a worn out 75 Volvo manual shift wagon! "Estate" (depending on your locale). Yes, Rex, Uncle Dan is a sick, sick man! Hahaha! Given the chance to do closed course, in a Model T? Oh! I would be so on that! :D Thanks, for watching, Rex! Feel free to browse.
I'm digging this channel - just a dude enjoying some Colorado backroads, and I love it. Say, have you ever been on the 103, between Evergreen and Idaho Springs? Lovely road. It was a favorite of me and my friends whenever we wanted to clear our heads with a ride, back when I lived nearby. Good stargazing at Echo Lake, too. Would recommend.
Thanks, Ridley! Glad you had fun riding along! I hope you'll browse my video library here for more rides. I've been that way a few times, been a while, never at night. I was surprised not seeing the Milky Way at Twin Lakes on a clear night. I can actually see it at my house. Weird. So many great sports car roads, so few have workable traffic and so on. Thanks for watching and commenting!
hello, good sir! Would you mind sharing what aftermarket mods you have in the car? It sounds perfect! Your videos are really tempting me to get a Miata!
Hello. And please, you can refer to me as Uncle Dan. :) Thank you. The exhaust is muffler delete and replaced with twin 2.5 inch tailpipes. I did the steering wheel wrap and changed the OEM rims for lightweight racing rims, just under 15 lbs. I got the car at 6.000 miles and have found minor customs like side marker lights and so on. and so I don't know what all has been done. It does seem to have an excess power, especially compared to videos of these on Nurburgring, but it seems they usually have the 1.5 This is the 2 liter. But where I can really not tell you what your experience might be like is that I live at 9,000 ft altitude and never had the car below 5,000 ft. But this altitude usually kills even muscle cars. Some cars don't lose so much power but as a general rule, everything that breathes slows down up here. As you're considering the car, I hope you've watched other videos on my channel. This one is more a cruise as the road was rather slick. Ycan see how she climbs steep 7 mile long hills in the video labeled "Spirited Drive North of Pike's Peak." Thanks for watching and a comment!
Hi, ForteRush. I'm rather flattered. That depends on where you are in your driving. A Formula 2 driver? I probably couldn't help you. :) I do have an earlier video, "How to do safe spirited driving" where I cover the philosophy I was taught. As these techniques have been used by 3 old dudes now, 2 died with clean driving records, I just didn't die, ;) I imagine there are some good tips. Anything you've seen in my videos that gave you the idea I might could help with and you'd like to brush up on? If you like, you can find me on FaceBook and send me private message and maybe a video. :)Dan Lankford. But, check that video I mentions, and I very recently posted a video on clutchless shifting, which is REALLY all about proper rev matching and the benefits. Oh! To answer your actual question.. If you're out this way, maybe you'd like to ride along.
@@SportingDrivesinColorado Uncle Dan! Thanks for replying! I will add you! And probably not anytime soon but when I do head up to Colorado I'll definitely contact you! I just started manual two weeks ago on my NB and your downshift is just so clean and beautiful. And thanks I will go watch that video now!!
Hi, Rodjjj. This is 67 about half the drive is really to fast to do anything other than a "cruise" and be able to shutdown for bighorn or deer. Tourist like doing these blind curves in the wrong lane too often, but it is fun.
These are relaxing to watch. I have mine stored for the winter you are a brave man.
