  • MACV-SOG’s Jane Fonda Connection
    October 1969 Kon Tum, Vietnam, MACV-SOG Command and Control Central: Maj. Frank Jaks began to tell the me about a rescue mission he had run three years earlier. We were interrupted. Thirty years later I would learn about the end of the mission. It would be another twenty-five years before I discovered the untold story of the men he went to rescue and the Jane Fonda connection.
    This is a replacement of an earlier video. You notice that one of the suspected POWs was named Jackson (The pilot that was lost). It happens there was also a Jackson that was a POW and released with Johnson. In the earlier version I screwed up a quote and had to replace the video to fix it. I hated to lose all your views and comments but there was no way around it.

    I have always wondered if the story of Jane Fonda visiting a POW camp was true or not. It's the one where the POW's hand her a list of names and service numbers, and she promptly hands the list over to the guards. Who end up beating the POWs, some of them die as a result of the beatings.

      @@raymondhollingsworth3643I agree with you but let's face facts people like her who are big celebrities whose parents are bigwigs and very well connected with those in power can get away with anything and not get charged for it it has always been the case as I believe a certain French philosopher was fond of saying rich or poor the law will be either black or white, in other words the rich can get away with almost anything.

    • @safiremorningstar
      @safiremorningstar 3 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@Jessie_James850actually there are definitely certain things that do qualify as treasonous in what she did the problem isn't that the problem is that at the same time a good lawyer would have been able to get her off on the fact that she did a service to her country getting back those soldiers who were handed over to her husband. The fact is that a certain French philosopher and voice to text does not allow me to give his name properly so I'm not even going to try for the 1500 time to try I'm just going to say what he said which is whether you are rich or poor the law will be black or white meaning that if you are well connected and wealthy you can get away with almost anything and back then it was quite easy to do if you have any doubts do I have to remind you how Patty Hearst got away with doing what she did and claiming that why wasn't her fault she was a kidnap victim and they brainwashed her when it's quite obvious when you listen to her interview that she was not brainwashed she did what she did because she wanted to be there. Similarly Jane Fonda will probably would have probably gotten off because her father was very well connected very rich very well known and considered a big icon not just because of his celebrity as an actor but because of whom he knew and whom he was connected to a lot of them have political a lot of these actors from the old school if you want to call it that have political connections that were quite easily pulled when they needed it to be pulled. I have never liked Jane Fonda and I have refused to watch anything that she's in with one exception on Golden pond and that had more to do with the fact that I like Kate Hepburn then anybody else in that film because as far as I'm concerned Jane Fonda was a traitor. I should explain that I was a child during the whole Vietnam War while all these events were occurring I was in elementary school kid but I was a bit unusual in that I had been told from the time I can remember because my dad only told me this when I was 14 I was like a cousin of his I was autistic you didn't tell me I was autistic he said she was and I wasn't going to end up in an institution he didn't like labels and he wasn't going to call me autistic because well he didn't like using that word and I realize what he said was true because I had made the decision not to remain in what I called my invisible boxI didn't understand people and so my father told me and my mother reiterated this all my life if you don't understand what people want observe them my adopted grandfather Irish grandfather told me that if I really wanted to understand people I should look up things called psychology and read those books I was six or seven at the tim I started reading observing and listening and more I came to my own conclusions was that Jane Fonda was a traitor in every sense of that word she should have been literally tried for treason and they were debates on that by the way I remember that at the time as well and the more I listened and looked and watched and observed the more I came to the conclusion that that was true.if a child of 7 or 8 can come to the conclusion by that point and might have even been younger that Jane Fonda is a traitor you can be certain that has to do not with what people said around me that they didn't really care about her it was about the fact that the more I saw the more read the newspapers the more I looked at people the more I listen to what she had to say the more I came to that very conclusion especially for the fact that she went and basically hung out with the enemy in the first place.

    Getting your book today, my dad was a Sgt in Vietnam 1965 to 1966 and was Ranger qualified. I overheard him referencing "hush hush" missions to his disabled war buddy in Ft. Riley and always wondered if he was involved in SOG somehow, but he died in 2009 of Agent Orange related cancer. There's so much I wanted to ask him. There's a picture of him in the ROTC building hallway where he served here at OSU when we moved here in 1978 where he's dressed like you with a green t-shirt and headband in the jungle, he had 5 purple hearts. He gave me a set of tiger striped fatigues in the late 70s, I wish I still had those as well.

      It's amazing she is alive. A friend in SOG told me he and a SOG buddy were just out of the woods and passing through Seattle airport. Walking down one of the hallways they passed a small group of folks going the other way. A young woman started ripping into his buddy (in uniform). The guy was stunned and confused, cause he thought he knew her, but couldn't connect. High School? Home town? Before it clicked, the guy telling me the story, instantly recognized her and dragged his buddy away.
      If a SOG guy, fresh out of the woods realized it was Fonda, she may not have survived.
      Fonda was there shooting the movie Klute.

    Jane Fonda may have been valuable to US intelligence whether she had a direct connection to them or not. Just tapping her phone would have provided useful info to them against anti- war movement. At one time she had a good relationship with the Army.

    • @bfrehksdhf
      @bfrehksdhf 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Nobody reads her role right. She was sent in to control the anti-war opposition. True hippies don't come from huge wealthy families. Fonda going over to Hanoi was the worst thing she could have done for the anti-war movement, and they knew it. She wasn't being tapped. She was one of theirs.
      Hence we hear all the stories of vets on here pissing on her image on a urinal cake at their VFWs, instead of what they should be doing, which is going after every MIC asshole that planned the Gulf of Tonkin false flag and the subsequent illegal war that killed and maimed millions. But no they got away with it, and then we got Vietnam Part 2 aka the Iraqi/Afghan War.

    I read over 80 Vietnam books, so that I could try and get my brother to talk about his Vietnam experience. In one of the books, a member of SOG had his sights on Jane Fonda and called it in. He asked for permission to shoot. They apparently took over one- half hours to make up their minds and get back to him. I had to smile because I'm sure, has no idea how close she was to dying. She was just a breath away! Jane, still today, hates America. She's a hypocrite, supporting Obama and Biden who love war and hating Trump, the one man who has kept us out of war. The Communists used Jane because she was naive. They gave her special treatment that they would never give one of their own. They feed her full of lies and she soaked them up like our current Democratic Representatives who are Fascists at heart.

      Biggest problem is that it had been a short while (in Army years) since the Air Force had broken away from the Army. The Army brass wasn't happy about losing some of their power and was often less than cooperative with the Air Force. At times to levels that, in my opinion, were treasonous.
