    "One flesh" is both a metaphor AND a literal statement. In the act of copulation the man and woman join their bodies together as one, and in doing so a new life is created from that joining.

    • @Mkhwaks
      @Mkhwaks 4 ปีที่แล้ว +50

      Indeed. God created Eve from Adam's rib in order to show oneness of a husband and wife. The two were one before Eve was created. They are reunited to be one flesh again in marriage. That's is why the wife takes the surname of her husband to make the two into one unit through marriage

      @@Joleyn-Joy If you believe that the book of Genesis is simply literature, then you can read it however you like. Imagine whatever "poetry" suits your particular paradigm. If, however, you believe that it is MORE than that, and is actually divine truth in written form, then you must look to interpret it through a more holistic way...one that fits best with the rest of divine scripture.

  • @LeviPaladin
    @LeviPaladin 4 ปีที่แล้ว +126

    The literalness of Genesis isn't all or nothing. It's not "either it's all literal or it's all metaphorical." No one is making that argument. Just because "one flesh" isn't hyperliteral doesn't mean there's a lot of ambiguity in interpreting Genesis. Jesus called Himself "a door," does that mean that all of His claims should be interpreted through a metaphorical lens to harmonize the events of His life to modern scientific thought?
    The wordplay stuff is also odd. If you hear "kleenex" you wouldn't say it's wordplay because that's what tissues are called. Can't "Adam" come from it's original use?

It's astounding how simple the Bible gets when we try to read it through the prism of the era and culture it was written in. All the pieces fit perfectly, like a puzzle.

      Stop believing that a human needing to relieve himself, eat, drink, ignorant of facts and that never claimed to be God is God. You'll be one step closer to the worship of the God of Abraham. Understand that Paul messed it all up. Never did God ever support a human-god or trinitarian theology, never. The OT never makes such a claim and the fact that Christians have to take such a theology from Paul and can't even find a clear theological passage from the Gospels (which by the way show clear cut contradictions and word of human, not of God) is more than enough (but it's not all of it of course) to prove that Christian doctrine is false.
      Moreover the contingency argument proves the trinity as false with a KO reflection: accepting that there is a Necessary Being with necessary intrinsic fundamental attributes, then the fact the each person of the trinity is distinguished from the other means that the attribute of being say the Son instead of the Spirit is not a necessary attribute but contingent. So each person has fundamentally necessary attributes for instance BUT the attribute itself of being the Father, Son or Holy Spirit is in itself contingent, hence the trinity is contignent, hence it's a false doctrine inapplicable to God. This is of course ignoring the fact that the trinity "changed" post-incarnation or that claiming that these three person being one being resolves the thing is only valid if you have only one person, that related to his creation via various modes. I, for instance, am a son, a husband, a brother but I am still me, one person and one being. This is the tip of the iceberg in crushing the trinity.
      Life is too short to believe in a false thing just because it sounds nice or because of peer societal pressure. And the matter of God is too serious to "hope" that one's faith is true based on weak arguments. There is only one religion on Earth that accepts Jesus as the Messiah without making him an idol, the religion of Noah, of Abraham, of Moses, of Jesus and of Muhammad. Don't trust the media rumblings on islam=terrorism. You wanna believe in Jesus as his dispiples did, then there's only one way to go.
      It's so simple if you just free yourself from the bias of presuming christianity as true:
      "Say, [O believers], "We have believed in God and what has been revealed to us and what has been revealed to Abraham and Ishmael and Isaac and Jacob and the Descendants and what was given to Moses and Jesus and what was given to the prophets from their Lord. We make no distinction between any of them, and we are Muslims [in submission] to Him." (Surah Baqarah)
      "Say: He is God, the One and Only;
      God, the Eternal, Absolute;
      He begetteth not, nor is He begotten;
      And there is none like unto Him" (Surah Ikhlas)
      "For I am God and NOT MAN, the Holy One in your midst,
      And I will not come in [a]wrath." (Hosea 11:9)
      "God is NOT A MAN" (Numbers 23:19)
      "The Lord’s word is flawless" (Psalm 18:30)
      "He will not let your foot slip-
      he who watches over you will not slumber;
      indeed, he who watches over Israel
      will neither SLUMBER nor SLEEP" (Psalm 121:3-4)
      "God! There is no deity but Him, the Alive, the Eternal.
      Neither SLUMBER nor SLEEPovertaketh Him." (Quran 2:255)
      "“The multitude of your sacrifices-
      what are they to me?” says the Lord.
      “I have more than enough of burnt offerings,
      of rams and the fat of fattened animals;
      I have no pleasure
      in the blood of bulls and LAMBS and goats.[...]
      Wash and make yourselves clean.
      Take your evil deeds out of my sight;
      stop doing wrong.
      Learn to do right; seek justice.
      Defend the oppressed.[a]
      Take up the cause of the fatherless;
      plead the case of the widow. (Isaiah 1)"
      "The Lord is the everlasting God,
      the Creator of the ends of the earth.
      He will not grow tired or weary,
      and his understanding no one can fathom.
      He gives strength to the weary
      and increases the power of the weak.
      Even youths grow tired and weary,
      and young men stumble and fall" (Isaiah 40)
      "Those who consecrate and purify themselves to go into the gardens, following one who is among those who eat the flesh of PIGS, rats and other unclean things-they will meet their end together with the one they follow,” declares the Lord." (Isaiah 66)
      "who eat the flesh of PIGS,
      and whose pots hold broth of impure meat;
      who say, ‘Keep away; don’t come near me,
      for I am too sacred for you!’
      Such people are smoke in my nostrils,
      a fire that keeps burning all day" (Isaiah 65)
      "Say, "I do not find within that which was revealed to me [anything] forbidden to one who would eat it unless it be a dead animal or blood spilled out or the flesh of SWINE- for indeed, it is impure" (Quran 6:145)
      " There is nothing like unto Him, and He is the All-Hearer, the All-Seer" (Quran 41:11)
      Leave idolatry and come to the love of the Messiah as he would want you to love him and rever him. For the day he'll return he'll have nothing to do with any trinity.
      "And (remember) when God will say (on the Day of Resurrection): "O 'Iesa (Jesus), son of Maryam (Mary)! Did you say unto men: 'Take me and my mother as two objects of worship with God?' " He will say: "Glory be to You! It was not for me to say what I had no right (to say). Had I said such a thing, You would surely have known it. You know what is in my inner-self though I do not know what is in Yours, truly, You, only You, are the All-Knower of all that is hidden and unseen". (Quran 5:116)

Greek New Testaments are very different to modern day King James Bible. Keep in mind Greek has 5x more words than English. First, you should read the whole chapter, then you should isolate it to Gen 1:24-30. After that... what on Earth is there to be confused about? God made many kind of creatures for the land, the livestock after their kinds, the wild animals after their kinds... and then, he decided to top it off with his ultimate creature, one made like Him. Mankind is the creature he went to see in the Garden of Eden, whom He made the fruit of the knowledge of good and evil for (to use it at some point or other).
      The only people who get confused about Genesis 2, is people who want to read something into it. Because Genesis 2 clearly starts saying, "This is the account of the heavens and the earth when they were created, when the Lord God made the earth and the heavens." So the Bible gave an overview of the creation, and now it is making abundantly clear that it is talking about what happened DURING that creation which was described.

    • @ronaldthompson9294
      @ronaldthompson9294 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The point was made in the video that Genesis 2:4 : "These are the generations of the heavens and the earth when they were made," is not pointing back to Genesis 1, but rather, pointing to a continuation of the creation account - - not a recapitulation, but a sequel. It was demonstrated in the video that the Hebrew term (toledoth) translated " this is the account" or "these are the generations of" in Genesis 2:4 is never used in the Old Testament to recapitulate a previously given account, but to introduce a sequel to a previous account, or, less often, to introduce a recursive account within families. So there is good reason not to believe that Genesis 2:4 "clearly" points back to Genesis 1 giving more details for what is claimed to have happened in Genesis 1. To take Genesis 2 to be a recapitulation of Genesis 1 creates all sorts of problems because Genesis 2, taken as such, contradicts Genesis 1 in many details. To deal with these contradictions while maintaining that both accounts are about God's material creation of plants, animals and man involves very creative iesegetical interpretations of those texts. To read it as the ANE authors intended it to be understood and as ANE readers would have understood it, easily solves the problems an anachronistic reading creates.

    An interesting nugget I learned a while back from a book I was reading about dinosaurs. The book addressed the question of what the difference was between dinosaurs and present living reptiles. The answer was, that dinosaurs, the same as elephants, horses, gazelles, and so forth, had legs which came down from their body and held their torsos aloft from the ground, whereas all modern living reptiles, like allegators, lizards, and Comodo dragons, have leg joints which flare out to the side, so that the belly of the animal is sort of dragging along the ground when they walk. I find this fact an interesting correlation with the curse which God places upon the serpent to crawl on its belly, if one considers the serpent not necessarily a snake, but representative of all reptiles.

    I'm open minded about this priest king interpretation and that there were possibly other people outside Eden for whom Adam was a priest-king, but can anyone comment: why then is there emphasis within the narrative on the idea that Adam could not find a suitable mate among the animals? ”The Lord God said, “It is not good for the man to be alone. I will make a helper suitable for him...So the man gave names to all the livestock, the birds in the sky and all the wild animals.But for Adam no suitable helper was found." If there were female humans outside the Garden among whom a helper could not be found, then why mention animals in the middle of this narrative at all?

      @@rodkvic9513 lol..There's weird mentality out there. I've heard similar stuff as to why man could dwell with beasts.
      In the world today "demons" are infused in numerous vids and commentary from supposed "Christians" pickled and dissolving in mysticism, fairytales and other forbidden things trying to present 'great knowledge'. These can get tons of views and mass excitement. .yet are FALSE.
      Another good example is the "imminent rapture doctrine of demons".peddled to millions..Yet the only rapture is when Jesus does come again. .and its merely a facet of "The Splendor of His Coming "...and not remotely the current idolatry peddled by big name preachers across numerous pulpits. So..in the end is only DREAD for many . There's no big excitement around what Jesus really said...nooo..That cant get 'gifts of cash' or sell books etc...So these followers of the real Jesus must quietly pass..looked at as the boring idiots..while others are the special ones..with the big crowds etc.
      Look at the prognostications on "Daniel"?..Major theologians and church denominations presenting great sounding "timelines"..and how the end is imminent. .Yet Bam!..collapsed in the dust . Why?.Because the weeks of years are not consecutive. .They are periods of time within time. .within the age. There's no '7 year tribulation'..Its 7 years of "time within times" that make up "The Great Tribulation"..and that spans more 'years'. So..NOBODY can decrypt/decode Daniel..only who's set in the time, at the time, for the time knows..on the exact time, what is meant.
      You may see all these timeliners collapse in very dramatic fashion..all like saying "The Holy Spirit told me".."God nudged me"..Yet these heard exactly nothing.
      There are reasons for this.
      I could write lots. .but that's not my designation; )
      Watching people is interesting though..look around and you see the world being constricted. Most declaring the end..yet it isnt.
      So..within the next 7-8 years you'll see a new renewable energy system go throughout the world or many will perish from failing job availability. The ones you see..are just by 'people'. The one by God..swallows up the rest in magnitude.
      Who knows..you may be around to see that :)
      Perhaps someday you'll see exactly who was in your 'time'

      Firstly, these people must have been sinless, perfect and immortal. As we know death entered the world through sin.
      So what happened to these people after Adam sinned?
      Did they also just happen to sin at the same time and thus become mortal? Because Adam's sin could not have corrupted them if they had not sinned.
      So what happened to those people?
      Also how do you reconcile this belief with Romans 5:12 which states that all men have sinned because of the sin of Adam?
      Because like I said before, these other humans would not have been affected by Adam's sin, yet Romans tells us that ALL men ARE affected by Adam's sin.

    Great channel, great material as always, also I want to add some info that you guys may already know but still,
    PART 1
    THERE are over 300 different flood accounts from cultures all over the world…there must be a reason for that.
    • Pre- flood environment.
    Modern scientific discoveries may give us some clues as to why the pre-flood world was so different.
    > Scientists have discovered air bubbles that have been trapped in fossilized amber (tree sap).
    > As the tree sap rolled down the side of the tree, it captured the atmosphere in these air bubbles, which when analyzed reveals an earlier atmosphere had about [35] percent oxygen compared to today's [21] percent.
    !!! Some research shows it had 50% more!
    > One of the benefits of the increased oxygen level is higher IQ. People probably have had IQs of 300-400.
    • The enormous trees were also what helped to create this oxygen rich atmosphere inside the closed earth dome.
    God created a very lush, beautiful world with a variety of large plant life.
    But these trees didn’t GROW to this height.
    > When God created the world, everything, people, plants, trees, animals, and the earth itself, was created with the [appearance of age].
    God created Adam and Eve in their mature, adult state.
    > These large trees were created in their fully mature state on the day they were created].
    While there is much we cannot say for certain about the world before Noah’s flood, we do know that the Bible tells us that it was much different than today.
    People were living to more than 900 years of age!
    The soil has been completely different, capable of growing many different type of plants which today are extinct because the flood has distorted everything.
    Very large trees are also described in the Bible in Ezekiel 31 and in Daniel 4.
    The flood that God sent to destroy the earth and it’s wickedness was so destructive that it leveled trees and completely changed the earth’s terrain and atmosphere.
    This is why there are so many deserts and barren places.
    [note, some of the photos may not be genuine tree stumps. The point of this post as regards to the tree stumps is not to assert anything. You have to use your own judgement and opinion]
    >According to the fossil record, many plants and animals were of much greater size than those we see today.
    Dragonflies had wingspans of over 3 feet, cockroaches were 18 inches long and
    > cattails grew to be 60 feet[18.28 meters] tall.
    While we may never know for sure why all of these things occurred, we know that when God said His creation was “very good,” it was indeed, very good.
    ///// The atmosphere of the earth, before the flood, had less particles for rain to condense around than what we find today. Particles called condensation nuclei are absolutely essential to the formation of rain drops.
    "Some atmospheric particles . . . formed by the evaporation of water from droplets of sea spray, are natural and even beneficial atmospheric constituents. Very small particles called condensation nuclei serve as bodies for atmospheric water vapor to condense upon . . . " (Manahan, Stanley E., Environmental Chemistry 7th edition).
    If the earth before the flood had smaller oceans, and no rain, then the production of particles for water drops to condense around would be very small if not non-existent. Less atmospheric turbulence would also have led to few particles put into the air. After the waters receded, the change in weather patterns, the formation of condensation nuclei, increased volcanic activity and the increased wind systems would have produced rain.
    The lack of rain, however, did not mean the world before the flood was dry. Since the earth would have been warmer and laden with moisture that was not condensed, there would have been an extremely efficient condensation cycle. Condensed water droplets would have been bigger and more commonplace. The earth's surface would have cooled very rapidly at night.
    This would mean the planet would have been watered by a very heavy mist or fog each day.
    /////
    •//////////////// Some PEOPLE say > HEY IF GOD was mad at the world, why would he tell Noah to build the Ark, why not just make everybody die?
    - He could've said, Let's everybody except Noah's family die and it would've happened. God could do that.
    WHY use the flood ?
    WHY make Noah Spend 100+ years making the ark?
    - well, the flood left evidence. A miracle would not!
    All over the world you can find fossils. Like for example, an fossilized arm of an octopus, because they are all soft tissue. IT IS highly unlikely.
    • Dinosaur eggs, thousands of dinosaur eggs and many other eggs are found fossilized. What are the chances of an eggs fossilizing?
    • PLUS, the FLOOD INSTEAD of a MIRACLE GAVE them warning to repent.
    THEY COULD WATCH NOAH BUILD THAT ARK EVERYDAY.
    THEY COULDN'T WATCH a MIRACLE COMING.
    God gave them a chance to repent.
    Noah could've preach, hey guys 10 more days and you're all gonna drop over. But they kept ignoring him.
    They could've watch that boat getting built day by day. It was a constant reminder that they could've gotten saved.
    And they could've and should've.
    //////////////////////////////
    //////////////////////////////////////////////////////
    Some people say because today we can’t build an relevant ark, it cannot be built.
    • Today we can’t also build the pyramids.
    70 tons stones up near the top of the pyramid, 480 feet off the ground… Nobody knows how they’ve build it.
    • Also how did Noah built that ark. Where did get the knowledge from? People assume that the people, 4400 years ago, in the pre-flood world were ignoramuses.
    I think, We today, by their standards we are the ignoramuses, today.
    • ADAM walked with God.
    Adam lived 930 years. He has accumulated knowledge that could be passed down from generation to generation.
    Noah’s father, Lamech could have known Adam.
    ADAM was still alive when Lamech was here, according to the dates given in scripture.
    So there was an enormous amount of accumulated knowledge and people at nine hundred years of age would learn an enormous amount.
    • Also, in the PRE-flood environment described by the BIBLE, where they lived longer and the animals grew bigger, increased oxygen.
    Specially during fetal development causes much HIGHER IQ.
    And the people probably HAD IQ’s of 300-400.
    • And also all sort of fossils have been found.
    An example of that is a braided rope cable found in a coal mine by some workers.
    And this cable has been similar to what we use today, but it’s been a stainless steel! Found embedded in the coal 200+ feet long.
    • Gold bells have been found in the coal;
    Gold chains six feet long found Anthracite Wyoming.
    All of these things are documented.
    The people that have died in the flood have been very advanced.
    • The bible says the pre-flood world, the people were artificers of brass and iron, so they had iron before the flood. Noah could’ve used iron in making the ARK.
    Ron Wyatt has found IRON RIVETS in the mountains of Ararat. • Noah may have BOLTED the ark together.
    • And there is also a little valley called the valley of 8, and there’s a little village there, called the village of eight.
    Nobody knows why the village is named that or the valley. BUT IT MIGHT be because THAT IS WHERE the eight people got off the ark.
    • If the pre-flood trees WERE GROWING HUGE like everything else was growing huge in the first 16 hundred years, Noah had giant LOGS to work with and it took him a 120 years to build the boat and God gave him the instructions of how to build it.
    Also the ARK was not DESIGNED TO GO ANYWHERE. IT Had only to FLOAT.
    • As far as the science of ship-building, NOAH’s ark according to the SCRIPTURAL dimensions was a ratio of 6:1, WHICH is the perfect ratio to withstand storms.
    Six to one ships and that is the way most of the ships are build, because they automatically face into the waves and it can’t get capsized that way.
    MANY TESTS have been done on models of NOAH’s ARK. And they indicate that ARK could have stood waves of 200 feet. That is what the analysis shows.

      Because for the first 2 examples, those are first-hand testimonies that were experienced and witnessed by Moses. However, the entire book of Genesis, which was again was written by Moses, was passed down through oral tradition from multiple generations of man to Moses. This is what the author was told about but never witnessed it unlike the previous 2 examples above. This is why the first 11 chapters of Genesis are written so differently from the rest of its chapters.

      The TyRant, so Genesis is the one book of the Bible that does not fit under the following category?
      2Ti 3:16 All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness:
      Jesus didn’t know what Genesis meant when He quoted...
      Mat 19:4 And he answered and said unto them, Have ye not read, that he which made them at the beginning made them male and female,
      Mat 19:5 And said, For this cause shall a man leave father and mother, and shall cleave to his wife: and they twain shall be one flesh?
      Mat 19:6 Wherefore they are no more twain, but one flesh. What therefore God hath joined together, let not man put asunder.
      Either the Holy Spirit has inspired and preserved the whole word of God, or He hasn’t.
      Psa 146:5 Happy is he that hath the God of Jacob for his help, whose hope is in the LORD his God:
      Psa 146:6 Which made heaven, and earth, the sea, and all that therein is: which keepeth truth for ever:
      Rom 3:1 What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision?
      Rom 3:2 Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.
      Rom 3:3 For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?
      Rom 3:4 God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.
      Isa 38:19 The living, the living, he shall praise thee, as I do this day: the father to the children shall make known thy truth.
      2Jn 1:2 For the truth's sake, which dwelleth in us, and shall be with us for ever.
      Moses recorded the flood, the Tower of Babel, Abraham’s life and journey.
      Are these all to be in question too?
      This is a very slippery slope my friend...
      2Ti 4:3 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but after their own lusts shall they heap to themselves teachers, having itching ears;
      2Ti 4:4 And they shall turn away their ears from the truth, and shall be turned unto fables.

      The TyRant, what scriptural evidence do you have that the stories of Genesis were passed down by oral traditions and not super attended by the Holy Spirit, as found in Jeremiah.
      Jer 36:27 Then the word of the LORD came to Jeremiah, after that the king had burned the roll, and the words which Baruch wrote at the mouth of Jeremiah, saying,

    The strength of this channel (and all channels concerned with Biblical topics) is that it is able to absorb and integrate information and viewpoints into Biblical interpretation that would otherwise need decades in order to enter academia or maybe being dismissed by influential scholars who don't like certain points of views. Instead, you wonderfully integrate the recent knowledge and research by people like Michael Heiser or John Walton, who may not be mainstream academia, and provide a picture that is much more differentiated and gives us a first clue that we essentially had no idea before and just start to scratch on the surface.
    I know that those series are very complicated and difficult to produce and consume a lot of time, but I would like to suggest a similarly critical dialogue that deals with the doctrine of the trinity and the fact that there are many Christians out there who do not agree with this doctrine. There is a whole community out there that is pretty much neglected because the mainstream view on the trinity is that of acceptance and not of critical discourse among Christians. Would appreciate, if there is interest I am willing to invest into the making of such a series of dialogues and to bring some people together who are interested in discussing those topics. This topic could be especially fruitful because giving voice to different views of the trinity could provide also an insight into a differentiated view about the topic for Muslims, who stay away from the Bible because they see it associated with doctrines like the trinity - a doctrine that is disputed also among Christians. So it is a topic with a potential to reach people by presenting them something that is really new to them.
    Be it as it may: God bless you, I enjoy every single video and learn a lot from them! Thank you.

    I have not been able to listen to this in its entirety and not sure yet if it's part of a series. Author brings up good points worth consideration and further study. I tend to keep an open mind regarding the possibility our modern interpretations of scripture possibly being way off in certain areas, but I do also always advise caution. I think it is actually usually better to be wrong by taking the Bible literally in certain cases (so many times it is to be taken literally) than to stray away into belief systems that may quite frankly also be wrong and worst--gradually steering us off course from the truth of scripture and into unGodly and erroneous occultism (which is so often the case). So what I am saying is that I agree the Bible is often taken literally in areas in which it is not originally meant to be, but be cautious. One thing he does say that I do not fully agree with. Author says that the scripture's statement about Adam and Eve "becoming one flesh" was not meant in a literal sense. I believe the wording here in Genesis is in fact primarily literal, but also has metaphorical application. So basically the meaning here is twofold. Author provides the explanation that Adam and Eve were not "sewn together" to make one flesh. Well, that is NOT true. Adam and Eve were in fact joined together sexually and became one flesh by that union producing offspring made up of their combined flesh. So most certainly this is a literal "becoming one". "They" became "one". I believe it is as obvious as an elephant standing in front of us what this verse means. And so closely were they joined together that the joining (becoming one) can never be separated from the created being--the one flesh--produced by their joining together, even in todays modern scientific world. Technology can find and isolate such things as DNA, marrow, etc., but can never split the being in half, once created. The being is ONE. The two are now ONE. The twofold, metaphorical application is that Adam and Eve were also of one agreement, accord and purpose. Heart and mind so to speak and also living under the same life and spiritual conditions. The Bible also speaks of Jesus and God being one and that we also should be one with the church (other believers). No we are not sewn together with them, but the metaphor implies it is as if we were. I believe the primary implication in Genesis is describing Adam and Eve becoming one flesh is in fact physical and material, but that also spills over to other areas of their being--spiritually, mentally, emotionally, etc.

      Yeah, there's a lot of fancy wordplay here, so as to add the religion of evolution to the texts. So, if the bible says Adam was the first man, several times, we have to ignore that. If it says Eve is the mother of all life and came AFTER Adam, we have to ignore that too. Eventually, we ignore everything the bible says, substituting whatever the false-teacher wants us to believe.

    • @Cklert
      @Cklert 4 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      @@vanivanov9571 The bible does not state that Adam was the first man, it only states multiple times that Adam came first before Eve. The only instance where it ever references that Adam is the first man is in Corinthians 15, and even then the name Adam is used in comparison to Christ.
      Eve is not stated to be the mother of all life, only that she would BECOME (hayah) the mother of all the living (chay). That being all that is new, fresh, or currently alive. Not before. This could be foreshadowing that we are children of Adam and Eve's sin and temptation. Or in a pre-fall intent and following IP's hermeneutics, if Adam and Eve were designated to lead humans under God, and were considered both royalty and spiritual leaders, this would imply that Eve would become humanity's spiritual mother.

      He was afraid of his siblings, and his nieces and nephews, and his grandchildren. To make the assumption that there are only 4 humans walking around on the earth would be a grave mistake. There's every reason to believe that there already were hundreds of humans, all of them the children/grandchildren/greatgrandchildren of Eve.
      If Cain was afraid of humans taking Vengeance on him, then he was afraid of their sin. But Romans 5 clearly states that all sin came through Adam alone. How did these other creatures have sin if they weren't the descendants of Adam? The other problem that is video passes by is that Adam called Eve "the mother of all living". That means that she was the only other human when they were married.

    Some interesting theories, but it raises some new questions in my mind. First, if only eating from the tree of life made Adam and Eve immortal, then what would have happened if they had eaten from it and then from the tree of the knowledge of good and evil? Would they still have been immortal from the fruit of the tree of life? Second, in Genesis 3, Eve is described as the "mother of all the living." If this does not mean the first woman of creation, then what does it mean?

    • @marcusdumitru
      @marcusdumitru ปีที่แล้ว

      The tree of life is not presented in the Ancient Near Eastern Worldview as one-of-a-timer-eat-and-forget thing. It was supposed to heal and preserve life when needed, in a recurrent and constant way. You needed constant access. Also, it's not a fruit thing only, but leaves too. So, IF Adam and Eve were in that garden for long enough, they would have used the tree of life many times, whenever they wanted or needed. But once prohibited, without it's effects, their bodies would decay to final death. They only had conditional immortality.
      You are correct about the second question. Eve WAS the first created woman. There are no parallel , pre-adamic human races in Genesis. The other of the video is wrong in his interpretation because it is not derived from text, but he forces exterior ideas onto the text.

      If Adam&Eve multiplied before the fall, there would have been many priest-king offspring. Eventually, everyone's lifespan was shortened, especially those born after the fall. Perhaps Melchizedek was the last of the earlier, unfallen generations... Christ would be like Adam before the Fall, as would any of Adam's offspring.. Christ returns with the host of heaven, a cloud of witnesses... Life aligned with God's life, exists at a higher vibration or energy level. Those that reject harmonizing with it, would become completely separate and apart, at some point. Kind of de-magnetized...? At the moment those folks realize that, there may be some wailing/gnashing of teeth, but nothing afterwards, because they only sought to take from Life, not affirm it. So they will be as far as east is from west. And the memory of them will be no more...

      If it's beautiful, why not take it seriously, instead of adding your own fanfiction to it? Once we've contradicted Eve being the mother of all life, and Adam the first man, and that there was no death, and in fact EVERY statement of Genesis has to be undone in some way, you reveal you hate the story and what it stands for, and want to change it to reflect something in yourself.

    @InspiringPhilosophy what about the same verse of Gen 2:4 where it states "...when they were created..." wouldn't that signify the in process of the creation or post process?
