The fact the clownfish can live without anemones doesn't mean that they should. When they are kept with their natural hosts (not just another anemone or coral) it's clearly visible they are much much happier. Mine are so happy that they even forget they have eggs to tend to.
I remember learning about Symbiosis in nature when I took Ecology in High School and that concept still fascinates me to this day. Just the idea of two separately evolved organisms fulfilling their own niches and subsequently benefitting each other in a shared environment is so cool. It’s even cooler when you see examples like this of the Clown Fish and the Sea Anemones too.
Loved this video, had a question come to mind during it. Hypothetically, if a clownfish and anemone that had already bonded and been paired for a long time were separated, would there be negative repercussions for either organism?
good vid dude made me miss my purple tipped anemone... but sticking to softies this time :) none agressive as possible tank in a way.. love seeing other mixed though
Great video! I am currently setting up an anemone dedicated tank because they are so beautiful. Can i add a RBTA after the tank cycles? I have been in the hobby for 3 years with some anemone experience.
Good info. What anemone will do the least amount of movement but still good to host clowns? Like to get one but always hear horror stories about how they end up in the wave pump and trash the tank.
@@PrestigeReef good video by the way. I came from TierZoo's video on Symbiotic Relationships where he mentioned Clownfish being immune to the toxins, but he didn't explain why. So I came here.

Many clowns will spawn without them as well though
@@PrestigeReef Many people will breed while feeling miserable and without a bed.

I would wait a few months first, new tanks take a while to stablise
Great stuff
Thank you :)
Of course they have preferences, you wouldn't go to an anonymous enemy anemonae for protection

If I'm honest I don't know what types move the least, my only experience is with bubbletips and they like to move on occasion

Are you on a personal mission to say "symbiotic relationship" in as few syllables as possible?
If I could get it down to half a syllable they would be ideal

Not to be used during a class. There should definitely be a warning about inappropriate suggestive content for children.
😂
A teacher should probably watch content before showing it to a class…
That’s just lazy teaching 🤷🏻♂️
Honestly thats your fault. He doesn't make videos for your class
