I love the desicgn of this shoe. Generally I have a feeling that Asics has finally arrived in the 21st century. I'm excited to try and get my feet into a pair of these and hunt for a halfmarathon PR.
The shoe looks like a sleeper shoe with no tech, but legit new running technology, love it. Cannot wait for this, Saucony’s and Adidas’s take on the carbon shoe to hit the market too. It’s such an incredible time to be a runner now. Love the video, the meta racer really pops in that color way.
Nice to see Asics catching up... the outsole looks like those Japanese sand gardens that you can draw on... Is the Metaracer softer than the Speed Elite? stay safe...

Hey, kofuzi. I just got back into running in December 2019. I am currently working my way to run in a half marathon. I’m 31, average build, 210 Pounds and played many sports and always stayed in shape. Currently in Pegasus shoes to run, but looking for a new shoe to add to my rotation. Looking at the ASICS novablast (please review!!!), the vomero, and potentially buying zoom fly knit for fast days. I would like to buy 1, but potentially 2 shoes, what would you recommend?
my only concern with buying shoes that old is how they might have been stored over the years. i'd worry that the foam would have degraded over time. but since midsoles are foams, i suspect i may be overstating any potential deterioration
Great first impressions! I’m really curious about this shoe now. Seems almost like the EvoRide and MetaRacer are the ASICS equivalents to the Zoom Fly and Vaporfly.

Might be a weird question, but isn't it weird that Asics' carbon fibre racer is more minimalis? I love the look of it, but I would have loved to have seen a Glideride with a carbon fibre plate.

That midsole compound looks exactly the same as the one in the Salomon Sonic 3 range. Like playdoh and very dense. The overall design is a very welcome change from those other huge racers. Sleek and beautiful
@@kofuzi yes. Kofuzi is right. I really enjoyed the Asics Glideride too, they were amazing. I used those for long runs. Definitely one of my favorites. I really want the Metaracer, although i'm not sure if they're a half marathon or a full marathon shoe. Stay tuned for kofuzi ya'll. ✌🏼
kofuzi Did you not like the Glideride? Personally since I’m in a tough situation and actually just lost my job last week, I need a pair of shoes that will last and I felt like the Glideride could offer 500 miles of life?
Are you recording data gps or stryd outside? I’ve had mixed results ....stryd vs gps on accuracy. Don’t know which is accurate. My garmin foot pod vs stryd is way off too.
I'm nearing the end of mileage of my hoka rincon's(350+).. I'm finding I'm having pain in my forefoot a little after my runs and noticed the cushioning is very hard now in that area which I guess means I'm striking in the right area. I thought you might be able to recommend a good comfortable/cushiony shoe I can use for the longer runs? Those metaracer's looks great for a racing/tempo shoe but what do you think for day to day safe supportive higher mileage runs? Thanks for the great content!
i'd suggest replacing your rincon, as it sounds like they're past their usable life. for longer runs, if you like the rincon, i'd look at the clifton 6 or maybe even the carbon x (same snug racer fit in the forefoot as the rincon).

Idk if it's the change of scenery or you're recording with different settings but you've been looking alot faster since you started running city streets. Great looking shoe simple design and hood choice of colors. Keep up the good content!

I haven’t tried either of those shoes, but I have run in the go run ride 8. I would hypothesize that the one that is “better” for you would depend on whether you are looking for a daily trainer or a max cushion shoe.

I’d say that’s a pretty good approximation. The metaracer is a bit more forgiving for longer distances. I’m not sure I could run a half marathon in the zoom streak

Based on reviews, this is my fave shoe in the "carbon wars" so far...just need to see the NB RC elite!

No just this colourway is for the Tokyo OL, that´s why it has Tokyo on it.

The Flytefoam is single density, the carbon plate is directly above the outsole in the orange foam area.

What's the sizing like. Is a US 10 in adidas adizero pro a US 9 in the metaracer. I've seen suggestions to go down a whole size
