I have been saying since around 2018 that these young ladies would one day dominate the world of music. Selling out any venue they choose to perform, including the largest arenas, stadiums, and music festivals. That they would, without a doubt in my mind, one day be recognized as the greatest power trio of all time. I stand firm in my conviction of this statement!
    LONG LIVE THE VILLARREAL SISTERS!

Whatever the industry thinks, their peers most assuredly recognize them. Halestorm and Muse were sufficiently impressed that they brought them on multiple tours, and Lzzy Hale and Matt Bellamy both gifted Dany new guitars (Lzzy on stage, no less). Three Days Grace was sufficiently impressed that after the first concert or two they brought Dany out to sing Painkiller with them, and when they were at festivals in Germany, TDG brought her out again -- she energizes the crowd that much. On the recent Shiprocked cruise, Michael Starr of Steel Panther used them as his backing band for the cruise finale for Highway to Hell and Dany played at least one of the solos.

As a 68 year old retired guy that was in the music business my whole life in Nashville, and I still play in a weekend warrior band, I discovered The Warning about a year ago and have totally been blown away by these ladies. They leave no stone unturned. From vocals, playing, stage energy, production etc. On top of that they really enjoy what they do, and from their videos seem to be very nice people. I showed the guys in my band some of their videos and said, this is what music is all about. They are the real deal!

Wow! Your in-depth analysis is thoughtful and in my opinion, accurate. This song, "Evolve", was one of the two songs they played at the VMA's in 2023. This exact song is what inspired me to go down "The Warning" rabbit hole. I can't get enough of these young ladies. The history of how they began, how their parents supported them, and how level-headed all three are is amazing. On top of all this they are down to earth and truly thankful and supportive of their fan base. True talent and true humility. They just love to share their music and I love them for it.

You worded that absolutely perfectly. DPA said the same thing a decade ago. After they went viral with Sandman the entire “music industry” came for them. Think names like Disney, Glee, Simon Cowell. But they all wanted to change them. Everything but rock. DPA refused. The story goes one producer (Glee) asked it they would rather play for 12 people or 12,000. DPA’s response? I’d rather play OUR music for 12 people. Can you imagine turning down what? millions? Promises of anyway, As a teenager (& less) because you love YOUR music more. That’s something very. Missing in this world. But it’s exactly what The Warning is. • @bensunkl
    @bensunkl 10 หลายเดือนก่อน +11

Very astute observations and comments, you, sir, are a wordsmith.
What you said about the music industry failing was perfectly illustrated when the ladies were asked to perform on a side stage for the MTV VMA show. They played this song and one other song a couple days before the live broadcast. The producer for their session exclaimed over a hot mike "Holy Shit". Later he told the band that he was a fan.
So, MTV had this 'in the can' a couple days before the broadcast and yet only aired a 45 second clip of each song late in the 'awards' show.
MTV KNEW what they had and yet they sat on it and instead showed..well, we all know what they showed. MTV knew that if they were to air the performance that The Warning laid down, the rest of the show would have been eclipsed and nobody would have remembered anything other than The Warning.
Thanks for your so very eloquent words, most all of us feel the same way and can't quite find the right words!

I'm sorry Eric, but the meters are not full. 😉 Just watch their performance of this same song at the 2023 MTV VMAs and you will see that even in that one year, some of those gauges are even higher now. In 2023 they toured with Muse in front of stadium size crowds and by watching Muse and performing in front of thousands, like sponges they absorbed it all.

They got those too. I'm just wondering if they'll get as diversified as Zeppelin did. Hey Eric! You hi the nail on the head! I have often said, I don't know if the music industry deserves them. As for headlining, I don't think there is any band that wants to have to follow them on stage. And yes, having seen them play in front of 300 people a few times and I have seen them in front of 1500, and in videos I have seen them play to stadiums. They sound just as great and give 110% EVERY show! Speaking of headlining, another reactor put in one word as well: "Undeniable". You can't watch them live and think, "I don't think they are ready". I have personally seen them 5 times (once I few to Mexico to see them), and I can tell you, nothing prepares you for the WALL of sound they hit you with! Future Legends!

How you summarized them as a band I think Jason Flom may have had a similar opinion about them. He only saw them once at The Mercury Lounge in NYC on December 10, 2019. He said he stayed longer and later and listened to more songs than he had ever done for a new band he was checking out. He spent the next 7 months in contract negotiations to sign them. And this was after he had closed his roster and finalized his budget for 2020. And they were negotiating during the pandemic when the industry was essentially shut down. He saw the talent and he saw that talent perform live. And he wanted them on his roster regardless.
They also don't rely on costumes and gimmicks. They don't put on a persona, they are the persona. They are genuinely having fun on stage. They consider each other 1st best friends and they like being with each other. They like their music and they like performing. Music and performing ARE their DNA. Music doesn't define them, they define their music.

So, they are actually Headlining this Teatro Metropolitan 2022 concert in Mexico City, which believe it or not is a very important 3,000p venue and playing at the Teatro Metropolitan is a milestone for Mexican bands, they sold out the first date so fast they immediately had to open a second one, "fast forward to 2023..." (see what I did there haha) and they sold out the 8,000p Pepsi Center venue in Mexico City (Headlining). As I have read in Canada and US they sold out so quickly venues they were Headlining they had to change them to bigger venues... They are doing their way (the right way and only way)... They are creating a very loyal fanbase and convicing gig by gig... Once you see greatness you can't stop seeing it...

I've heard Evolve for 2 years now since the released it... Every single Live version the build up to Pau's scream still gives me chills. It's literally a musical interpretation of "evolving" and letting lose. Right down to the music video at the beginning of that transition, it goes from your normal white lighting to RED and stays RED for the rest of the song. Thats not only musical planning in the song writing but the production of the elements in the music video, which are what bands have used as a marketing tool since dirt... and they shot it using a couple of iPhones and a drone.

A Spanish analyst compared the official video of the song with a live one. He broke everything down, leaving only the voice, later the bass, the drums and the lead guitar. Surprised, he said, astonished. The times and spaces are equal and identical, it cannot be!!!

They are finally blowing up. Getting so many well deserved accolades and awards. They also are getting the main stage at many upcoming fests in Europe. Pol Rocks averages 250,00 a day on their main stage./they will be there the day after they play Wacken. On the recent shiprocked cruise they did the encore at the all star jam to close the cruise.

Another great reaction Eric. I have been following these ladies for 10 years. They are as humble today as they were then. They have had the benefit of being sisters and living in the same house with a rehersal studio in their basement so practise was a daily thing for them with other bands probably not so regular. I am 74 and have seen lots of bands before they became famous and these ladies are as good as any and better then most.

They are headlining in Europe this spring , but no dates for North America yet. I'm on the east coast of Canada and the local rock radio stations do not play The Warning at all, which I just think is insane. None of my friends or coworkers know about the band either, and they react with looks that say "if this band is so good how have I never heard of them?" When this band is this incredible, it just shocks me how people just aren't aware of them. How has lava Records not promoted the crap out of this band and pushed them onto the airwaves in every city in NA is beyond me. Maybe those days are over and everything is just so Spotify algorithm driven that people don't get exposed to anything new unless they decide to go looking for themselves.

This analysis is exactly correct. Excellent. You wrapped up all the emotion we feel seeing them expertly. And like you said, those who should have seen what we see and didn't, fire them. They are not doing their job. They are LAZY! Yes. Absolutely The Warning should be headlining. I would add to your "FULL" note, tight, confident, fearless, and something most people gloss over, respectful. Respectful of their sisters, respectful of the music, and respectful of their fans. I've seen so many bands come and go since 1960 that I can honestly say that there is nothing like The Warning and... there never was.

Their rise is grassroots. I believe they’ll get their dues in time and shouldn’t be rushed IMHO. They shouldn’t seek invitations to anything, but instead wait for invites when and where they’re wanted. Good reaction.🤘🏼❤️‍🔥🤘🏼

It gets so hard to describe how good they are. They simply don't have a weak link anywhere, and I'd add their team to that. I think 2024 is going to be absolutely nuts for them, much the same way 2023 was so much bigger than 2022 was and so on. I bet if you look up the term "meteoric rise" up, you'll find a picture of DPA right next to it. I really like the way you put it and I agree, they definitely are the new standard for that sound. Some have called it Melodic Hard Rock, and honestly I think that's a pretty good description of their sound. Nothing else sounds like The Warning, so i t makes sense to me. Thanks for another great reaction!

I accidently stumbled across The Warning just a few weeks ago and I've been captured. They traffic in a genre that is not the pool into which I routinely dip my toes, but they perform so well and with a kind of delight that draws me in. I immediately notice that the style they've already mastered doesn't sync with their presentation except for the verve with which they perform it. Pau often exudes enough energy to rival plutonium, and often while simultaneously singing her lungs out. Guitarist and lead singer Dani shows a complete command of both her instruments, and the Ale meshes perfectly with her sisters in a way that reminds me of the sibling synchronicity of the Corrs, although their niche was far from this in folkish Celtic pop. What is jarring to me about the Villareal sisters, is their edge while (still seeming to be sweet people in a supportive family. The band name perfectly set us up for their assault, the ferocity of their playing, command of stage space along with enthusiastic audience participation, the lyric darkness and sonic aggressiveness of so many of their songs (which belies their contrasting personal upbeat and happy lives offstage), the amount of air they and their amps move to keep you pressed back into your seat, and the time signatures (often 7/8) and being ambushed by the silent spaces used to keep the listener off balance just enough to feel that he or she has indeed been warned. Usually metal heads go out of their way to look unhappy, dour, menacing and like they can't wait to get old enough to properly join the 27 Club and meet Janis Joplin, Jimi Hendrix, Jim Morrison and many others...or that they're depressed because they're now aging hippy rockers who were once upon a time important but now can be found only on the diminishing number of classic rock FM radio stations or end up on the bill of one of the too often just sad shows of "Aging Dinosaur before I Die of Old Age and Turn into Crude Oil" tours.
The Warning, on the other hand, projects a youthful (they are, after all only 24, 22 and 19) enthusiasm and energy, a positive and happy enjoyment of the music and their ability to have already learned to play so well after having worked so hard to achieve the accomplishment. They obviously revel in the appreciation and love their fans shower on them. They club me over the head with the incongruity of embedding themselves in a genre often so dark if not even nihilistic without displaying the accoutrements of anger and despair to the point of cliché with which that music catalog is typically draped. There are no visible tattoos, let alone being inked from head to toe and bathed in black makeup. While their current ages all but "consign" them to being fit and, dare I attempt to say without sounding like a creepy old guy, nubile, I'm glad to find them not garishly sexualized. (Their parents and some other good and healthy mentors still have some good and healthy influence, or so it would seem.) They smile enough while performing as if to admit that they're having too much simple fun playing very hard-edged music to have room for the anger and angst their lyrics would otherwise convey or to be confused with some of those with whom they've shared a stage (like Guns n Roses and The Pretty Reckless). Thankfully, none of them would be mistaken for Taylor Momsen (I suspect to their parents' relief.) As a parent and grandparent, I hope the music industry doesn't chew them up, leaving them hardened and damaged.

Eric, as many have said The Warning hasn't really done a bad song yet. But that said, everyone has a favorite. EVOLVE is mine. I have heard every single song they have published, and I keep coming back to this one. The vocals, grinding guitar riffs, the amazing drums, and that bass throughout... plus the live performances (the VMAs in 2023 being the best) just get you moving and your heart pumping. 🙂
Thank you for reacting to it and for your great words about this band.

    *Evolve*
one thing that really i like about this particular concert at Teatro Metropolitian (Metropolitan Theater) back in 2022 and the footage from it is that you can see Pau (drums) preparing herself for an iconic part of this song... there is a camera looking at her from beneath the cymbals on her right... watch Pau closely... you can see her looking down, taking a deep breath, shaking her head, and firing her immensely powerful *_"Scream of Evolution"_* toward the heavens releasing her frustrations and pain so she can grow past them and *Evolve* 😜... it is one of the best recorded views of this action she does while drumming as passionately as she does... she even describes her scream in similar way in one of their vlogs... Pau brings it for real each and every time they present this hard rocking power ballad in concert or live sessions...
Pau (drums) came up with *Evolve* after watching a documentary about evolution and gene manipulation... this isn't the first time she has drawn inspiration from a TV show or movie, either...
Fun Fact: Pau has three screams/yells that she does... the first, most well known, one in *Evolve* , one in *Z* , and the other in *Hunter* ...
Fun Fact: during soundchecks, she's been known to use a much less powerful "Waaaaaaaaaa!" instead of "The Scream"... gotta save that scream for use at the proper times, ya know? 😹

Great reaction comments! I think the problem is with music, itself. Only something like 19% of people listen to rock music, anymore. And that’s up somewhat from the low teens, over years past. Music labels have to put their resources where they think they’re going to get the most profit. so, that means that they pour their money into crappy music, because it sells to a larger demographic. On the rock side, you have a lot of popular bands, hanging on long, pass their prime. There’s not a lot of room or following for newer groups. But, the warning is making headway. They are cracking the nut, and soon will be in the limelight that they deserve. they are already touring and headlining around the world. As that continues, and their popularity grows, the venue sizes will grow larger and larger. We already see that happening with many of their shows in Europe, lately.

I’ve said in the past that whether they’re playing for a crowd of 50 or 50,000, they bring the same energy to every performance. This is what separates those who are in it for the music from those who in it for the glory.
