I know Gail gets a lot of stick and slagging in terms of memes, but Helen is a great actress, especially with the Richard Hillman storyline, and she’s pretty much legendary in Corrie due to her long timeline. I love her a lot ❤️
The fact that she thanks working with the cast members calling them the best. Even saying she's been having fun for 40 years working in corrie just shows how much she loves doing acting in Corrie.
Did you see how Diane Parish cheered for her. Remember when Gail visited EastEnders and she and Denise talked about the Bad Men in their lives. That was so funny. I would love to see Diane Parish win an Award. She really kicked the door open for Afro Caribbean Actresses on Soaps in the UK whether it's Eastenders, Hollyoaks or Casualty. Victoria became Rachel #3 on Another World until it's cancellation in 1999. Kathryn played Kim Hughes on it's Sister Show As The World Turns until it's cancellation in 2010. She worked with alot of amazing Actors including Julianne Moore. She's so classy that the week the show was cancelled she came home and she was anow a Superstar. An Oscar Winner, Emmy Winner, Golden Globe Winner and the Former Hostess of Masterpiece Theater.
Now she's leaving. When Susan Flannery (Ex Stephanie Forrester) left The Bold & The Beautiful in 2012 she left and they played Who Loves You Pretty Baby by Frankie Vallie & the Four Seasons. Susan Flannery was also involved with Joanna Johnson (Ex Caroline/Karen Spencer) and Fannie Flagg (The Nurse In Grease) who also wrote Fried Green Tomatoes. 😊
God Love Her! Can you imagine being on the Show for 40 Years and then getting an Award If she ware an American they'd do a special Episode where she would go down Memory Lane with old school Clips. So many Women can remember starting out when she was in her 20's and then grow up in front of the nation. So many US Actresses would have loved to have been in her shoes in terms of continuous acting.

In The US there was a Casting Agent named Betty Rea (RIP), she was a Casting Director who worked finding Actors for Guiding Light and As The World Turns. She had the Midas Touch for finding folks. Some stayed briefly but others became superstars. Some of her "Discoveries" were Meg Ryan, Nia Long, Julianne Moore, and Marisa Tomei who are distant cousins.
I saw her as an "Extra" in The Movie The Prime Of Miss Jean Brodie. Wouldn't it have been cool if she visited Downton Abbey and did a Scene with Maggie Smith. Maggie as you know played Miss Jean Brodie.
Like Gail's family, the Websters are meant to be one of Coronation Street's most dysfunctional families e.g. Rosie slept with her school teacher and Sophie is the soap's answer to Beth Jordache from Brookside if you know what I mean.
Stuart Blackburn hadn't got a clue about coronation Street. Gail wasn't brought in as a friend for Suzie Birchall she was brought in as a friend for Trisha Hopkins. Suzie Birchall joined 3 years later.
Helen has worked with some incredible actors and actresses. Pat Phoenix. Violet Carson. Julie Goodyear. Jon Pertwee. The list goes on.
