Roland really knocked it out of the park with the value on this kit. Module sounds great, VH10 hi hats, 12" snare drum, that's a lot of bang for your buck.

Hi, not a stupid question at all :) Unfortunately all inputs of the TD-07 are full already if you use the CY-13R 3-zone ride. You might only use 2 zones (1 cable) and add a second crash/splash cymbal instead. Another possibility might be to use a drum-tec e-drum splitter to split a dual zone trigger input into 2 single zone inputs:

I'm going to make a very unpopular statement that will probably have 100+ people call me a moron: I'm not a huge fan of Roland's pre-loaded kit sounds. I always find Yamaha and the higher end Alesis kits to have much better pre-loaded sounds. If you are using vst/midi it's moot of course. Great playing and great video though, as always!

    • @drumtecTV
      @drumtecTV  ปีที่แล้ว

Hi Emmanuel, the TD-07 module has a stereo output so you can hook it up to any amplifying system. The KD-10 bass drum pad can be played with a double pedal, yet it might not be the most stable option for this.
You might consider getting a customized kit configuration from drum-tec and replace the KD-10 with a bigger/more sturdy bd pad for example.

In contrast to the TD01-DMK where no drums sounds are editable, individual sounds on the TD-07 are fully editable. To do what you've mentioned, I'd just for example turn down the module snare volume to 0 and trigger snare samples using an Ableton Live Lite Drum rack or with a VST like Addictive Drums or EZ drummer. A simple hybrid setup, which I'm definitely going to upgrade to from the TD1-DMK. Your other option is the TD-17KVX, where you can import drum hits on SD card, but not sure whether you can do that over Bluetooth.

So wait, this is only $1599 and the TD17kvx is $1899? I mean if you are a module player, you can still afford the 17kvx, that would be your better deal, plus you get the second CY-12. Now on the other hand, if you just need a reliable kit to trigger VSTs (with no need for module sounds), you can save some cash or get this and then also upgrade for a better module.

If you are just using for SD3, I would get this kit, you can save some money, but the module on this is kinda useless other than a cheap MIDI controller. But I would still get the 17kvx, the module can be tweaked for some decent lo-fi sounds and third party vendors like Drum-tec sell some great expansion packs for it!

@@okjames2954 yeah I intend to pretty much solely use it to record to my songs so the module sounds are kind of irrelevant (because I want the best sounds). But then again for an extra $300 you get the td17 upgrades. But then again, I’m a broke 25 year old and $300 goes a long way lol.

@@okjames2954 I didn’t even consider expansion packs so the 17kvx might still be the way.

Even for use with SD3, I would consider the TD17KVX because on the TD07 you cannot add a second crash without loosing the ride's bell, plus I think the tom inputs are single zone. For 300 more, I find the TD17KVX a much better deal.

If this came with the ability to have a 3 zone ride, and two 2zone crashes, I would have bought it immediately.
Now I'm having to spend $1,000-1,300 on used td-17kvx kits, and take a gamble buying used.
I can't believe you can't take two crashes and one 3 zone ride on a $1,200 drum set.
Also the td07kvx should be $999.

Nup, sold my Roland TD07KV and have gone Yamaha DTX8. More appealing looks and also module samples are so much more realistic than Roland.

20 years, and the cymbals still suck.
multiple hits and the attack kills the previous ring, unnaturally. AND SO MUCH COMPRESSION. arrrrgh my ears.
just leave some headroom. how hard is it?

Hi Christo, I agree yet the TD-07 is Roland's entry level sound module :) so there's many options available, that feel & sound way more realistic than this one. Obviously more expensive then though.... 😜
