Huacachina, Peru: Must Do Day Trips from Lima

- Several hours south of Lima, Peru is an adventure that will provide a lifetime of memories. It includes a visit to the oasis town of Huacachina, where you will take a dune buggy up and down the steep and high slopes of sand, as well as, take the opportunity to go sand-boarding on those same dunes. In the village of Paracas, you'll hit the waters of the Pacific Ocean and cruise around the Ballestas Islands, which are sometimes called the Mini-Galapagos, because of the rock formations and wildlife.
It's the perfect day trip from Lima!

Having retired in 2023, I now travel full-time, seeing places all around the world. My idea for TH-cam is to make the videos more about the places and people along the way, than about me. I hope that the experience for you is both entertaining and educational. This looks like such a fun day! It seems like it was one thrill after another. Those sand boarding hills were huge...not sure if I would have worked up the courage to slide down those!
It was phenomenal! Getting soaked on the boat ride wasn't ideal, but I dried quickly. It was only the final dune that provided a drop, which caused me to question whether I should do it. You could control speed by digging your feet into the sand, though, so it wasn't like you were totally out of control.

Thank you very much for visiting my country, I just have a clarification about the name of the desert, it is not Atacama (which belongs to Chile), its correct name is the Desert of Ica.
I knew it was called the region of Ica, but I didn't know that the Desert of Ica was a name also given to the place. You are right that while some say the Atacama extends into Peru, others contend it's a totally different ecosystem than the Atacama in Chile.
