Thank you for sharing this. The torque head on mine stopped spinning and this helped me disassemble and get rid of all the buildup that was causing that problem.
This video makes sense, I learned something, I just bought the dyson V-11 outsize love it, I saw a video about cleaning it this guy took everything apart I couldn't believe what I was seeing he did the motor everything I'm sure they wouldn't make good on the warranty if something happened to it, this guy was an asswipe and I hope no one listened to him, you did it right. I got to explain more, parts that had gaskits , spelled wrong, where no dirt or dust could get to he took it apart. told what screw drivers to use it's unreal what he wanted people to do and by the comments they were thanking him.
Thank you I've been trying to figure out for over a year how to get that bar off, without breaking anything because it seemed to be stuck. I really appreciate the help.
Thank you for this video .I already clean mine and it'is help a lot.
It has really been quite useful. Thanks a lot. I really like Dyson products but they could have thought in making them with a simpler way to clean them up.
This was very helpful, thanks! Using the paddle pop stick and wet wipes, was a great idea! I’ve tried damp paper towel but it didn’t work as effectively as the wet wipes seemed to work.
Glad it helped! Unfortunately I think I'm going to need to do this trick again soon!!
@@bruh8268 Hi, do you mean why can’t you just run it under water in the sink? That would be a great idea but I think that the centre tube will get damaged because of the water😉
Obviously this video is coming to us from the UK, so this advice may not come in very handy, but for those of living in a very dangerous place like the US, it should. Simply use your handgun cleaning rod and some Windex to get the plastic window covering the rotating brush sparkling clean. You can use the rest of the cleaning kit to its best purpose.
He’s from Australia. That’s what that accent sounds like! A sensible country where you rightly pointed out normal people don’t have or need hand guns. They do however have snakes and spiders that are 10 times more dangerous!!
There’s also no way I am putting gun oil, and something that is supposed to clean a delicate mechanism, shoved into a dirty Dyson
Thx for your practical approach. No others had any solutions, except undo a thousand screws, and the clog of bacteria inside is unbelievable. Poor design really.
Glad it was helpful! I should probabbly do mine again. It's so satisfying getting it clean and running smoothly and efficiently again.
So is there a star tool small enough to unscrew the tiny screw in the base of the head that would release the spindle to make the final deep clean easier? Great tips thank you
oh excellent! I'll need to give it a clean again so I'll check that one out.
very informative! thank you. I have a problem of pulling the cylinder out, I guess something is stuck there :(
Same mine doesn't come out? I'm wondering if it's different models or what?
This one is the V11 animal turbo head.. came out really easily for me on the first try.. sorry to hear it hasn't worked for you both.
Same here. Mines the V10. The fluffy one comes out easily but this definitely does not want to budge.
Thanks anyway.
😲 mine gets really bad since I don’t clean it that often but usually I’ll scrub the heck out of it with some dish soap, water and a small brush. 😅
Omg i washed mine with water.. then i watched your video. Now i hope it will work 😂😂😂 ill try after it gets dry and update my comment..
@@amalmoha5811 hi there. i unscrewed everything and let it air dry for 3 days and fortunately it works fine now.
I just have one question, is it not possible just to wash it??? It's all plastic, so nothing should happen, right?? Or is it prohibited??)
I’m baffled at how much dust came out when you used the popsicle stick 😭 I gotta go see how bad mine is now 😅😂
Very informative video!
Before seeing this video, I washed out my vacuum head with water.
Will the vacuum head be OK or is there some sort of battery in there that I got wet?
Thanks!
@@MiguelMijesPardon the delay. Just seeing this now.
I do not believe it affected its performance. I just made sure to wipe everything down and let air-dry for about 3 days!
Using all those wet wipes is probably not the most environmentally friendly method, i used a damp j-cloth with some diluted multi-surface cleaner. You can clean the inside of the rota brush by pulling the end off. There is a bearing underneath which you can remove if you've got a screwdriver with a star shaped head. I passed a string into the opening and tied cloth to other end and pulled it through like cleaning the muzzle of a rifle.
I don't know why my motorhead doesn't come out like yours...I have v15 detect absolute
The cylinder inside is stuck. If I try to pull it out "nice and easy" the friggin lid (with the coin slit) comes out and the cylinder remains stuck.
same here! the cover comes off but the brush stays in place

My daughter accidentally caught a piece of lipstick in ours and the baby wipes did just the trick to get it off the guard. I had to wash the roller brush with dish detergent. Now if only the lipstick came up off the carpet with baby wipes 😩
The grey rubber part along the back is wear and tear parts. And Dyson doesnt sell that specific parts anymore as they want their customer to buy a new head unit once it tear up. Happened to me.
Dyson sucks. And remember they said newer gen head parts not compatible with previous version, they lied.
I would not recommend people buy Dyson. Nowadays many other brands works similiar or much better than Dyson junks.
Maybe don't do that on a table
oh this table we got from a garbage tip haha.. it's just for outside doing work on
I’m so glad to find your video, and how easy it is to clean the head. What a difference it has made to our vacuuming.
Glad it was helpful!
