i think the reason why childe say that coz she is not like other fatui that believe tsaritsa, she just want to keep HoH no matter what, even if someday she againt the fatui itself.
That could be it too. Childe does genuinely love the Tsaritsa and Arlecchino could possibly be holding a vendetta.

Hmm idk to me personally calling her a good person is wrong she's more morally grey, I think, while her intentions might not be bad for her "children" they're still raised as child soldiers and, as seen in this teaser, die bc of their missions. She obviously doesn't like false kindness but that doesn't mean she herself is incapable of doing bad.
Though I guess we'll have to wait for the new quest to learn more. While I was hoping to finally have a playable evil character and was initially somewhat disappointed with the direction in which they're taking Arlecchino, I can still see that just bc she's not what I wanted doesn't mean Hoyo won't manage to make her a great character(let's hope they don't mess it up).
I do think it's weird that people are already jumping to say that she's a Good Guy and got "redeemed" when she still has her whole Orphanage which honestly seems more like a cult than an actual family to me and again we don't know enough about her.
Ya I suppose saying “good guy” is jumping the gun a bit but I’m starting to think that that’s what the story wants us to perceive it as. Like Childe is a genocidal psychopath but since he’s a nice big bro the game treats him as a nice guy. Just slightly worried about that. Not sure if she’ll be held accountable of the bad side or if it’s even acknowledged. But I’m enjoying everything so far so I’m staying positive.

If I had to make an educated guess, I'd say that they didn't expect her to be so popular at first, and so they wanted to make her playable, but since they don't make "evil/morally grey" characters playable they made her batman, personally I'm not the slightest bit surprised at this development, they know their playerbase
People will be angry at this comment but idc lmao, of course they never cared about consistency in their storytelling so the fact that childe thinks she's a backstabber and a psycho doesn't even matter to them that much, and if it did they'd make a silly event or something where he changes his opinion on her and act like they fixed the issue
It's so annoying that people say this stuff with no evidence. Information about the previous knave was in the game before sumeru even came out, nothing ever changed. Hoyoverse never insinuated that she was evil, the fanbase made that up. So stop with the lies

@@TJ_Sind2000 the fandom is incapable of telling the difference between an opinion and fact. Childe and scara can say whatever they want, but they don't live in the house and they don't actually know her. Neither are reliable sources

Hoyoverse has always used character voice lines to give us world building and more information on unreleased characters, why is this case different? I'll tell you why, inconsistent, horrible, shitty, garbage tier writing

You have no clue who i am on a personal level, but if someone asked you to describe me you would base your perception on this one conversation i'm having with you. You wouldn't be wrong, but it's not the full truth either. If anything, hoyo wrote them very realistically, it's not inconsistent it makes sense. Do you really believe either of them sat down for a meal with her to try to get to know her? It's world building from THEIR perspective. Hope that helps!

Maybe they retconned it or purposefully misled us, because she was clearly a villain in the Overture teaser. I thought she would be a boss fight in Furina's second story quest, since that's been the pattern so far.
I was under that impression too. Like we were going to see her true colors. But I could be speaking too soon.
