Kakashi should have felt uncanny that Houki not just was idolizing him, but following all the same mistakes he also did as a child, being very uptight and by the book, and not really trusting his teammates.

I often assumed that scenario took place right after the chunnin exam test, but definitely before the actual exams (this mission for the scrolls, Orochimaru, the 1v1 afterward, Gaara) seeing as Sasuke is wearing his original outfit, and doesn't posses his curse mark yet. But I understand why people have a hard time believing the continuity because of Lee and Neji in the episode and knowing we weren't introduced to them until the chunin arc.

@@leedlamini3935 Dude lived through big 2 wars, killed(not by choice) his friend/teammate, and had another teammate/kinda friend get "killed" to save him. Found his father dead after suicide at the age of 6, and gets shamed by the village for the actions of his father. Was put into ANBU at 13(which clearly had a negative effect on him). Lost his sensei and his sensei's wife by 14 after a demon attached his home.
Learned his savor and childhood hero was in fact alive the whole time and became a mass theorist who was this close to destroying the world and did in fact start a world war. And let's not forget, Kakashi has been fighting in wars since he was *6*.
Just saying, It's pretty damn impossible to let go I would imagine. Anyone would be heavily traumatized, and you can't just let go of that...
But I think Kakashi has done amazingly at being able to live through that, and eventually get a pleasant life and find some peace. The trauma is still there of course.
@@kunilsen2519He has to let go at some point, and understand that everything that happened or he did was not entirely his fault, especially the death of kushina and Minato,that's why he's still finding it hard to connect with other people, & sees himself as less deserving. He may have lost many friends, but there was 1 friend who had his back and who was willing to drag him out of that hell every single time he felt like he was no longer human, his name was Guy, he realized that way too late, just like he realized his friendship with him and obito. He can't find love cos he's never had a person he had a connection with cause the last person who once conffesed to him disregarded her feelings to honor a dead friend that he never thought of as a friend until the last minute. He's the one intentionally holdin himself back just cause he doesn't want to let go of those memories cos it gave him a hard lesson in life but that, doesn't mean he must stop living it. The only thing that keeps him active is is looking for young shinobis who're jerks like him & change them at a young age just like he did to boruto.

I agree, he is holding himself back IF its love he wants. But that is what happens when your childhood was fucked over, or even just one traumatic incident. First, he must find self-love, and that takes time. For some it takes a lifetime.
And Guy is awesome and has been his friend from the start, and Kakashi has clearly learned that a long tome ago by this point. He and Guy has been bff's for years by now. Wich I love, and it also shows how (slowly) Kakashi has learned to connect with people.
By this point in the series, Kakashi has deep and friendly connections with a lot of people.

The team is shown again helping Sai investigate Kara after they've joined the ANBU. Idk what missions they went on but they seem to have grown exponentially

For team 25 to be trained by Sai under the Anbu Black Ops is really cool and incredible, and having Houki as such a unique character is awesome!
Houki vs Inoji taught me two things. Kid has massive chakra and he is my new favorite character. Filler or not he brought me back to watching the series.
Even in shippuden, it just shows you just need a good teacher to help you challenge to grow & improve if one wants to become better. After watching Houki's result under the training of Sai, makes me invested on team 25 capabilities & potential for them to shine. Hope they have more screen time as well for further episodes. Same goes with Metal Lee's team especially the one with the hat. It's refreshing to see.

I see here Houki actually express many students thought who know what to do with their team but it's just that there teammates aren't following the way he told them to this situation is really relatable
And that's the thing, a good leader knows their subordinate's strengths and weaknesses and adapt their common goal with that in mind.

Can we talk about how even without the mask Kakashi looks like he hasn’t aged a DAY?? Like all the main characters from the original series seem to have grown some sort of eye bags to symbolize them aging, but Kakashi looks as young as ever here!
Kakashi was able to get closure on that which most haunted him (Obito's supposed death) and enjoy a relatively stress-free retirement; it makes sense that he'd age fairly well.
Team 25 is one of my favourite teams in Boruto. Also, the fact that Team 25 is under Sai and does ANBU Black Ops intel investigation makes it more interesting knowing that Kakashi used to be in ANBU.
Kakashi recommended Sai to handle Team 25. When you've got a Jònin like Sai, you know your team we'll be doing okay. Besides, in terms of discipline and workmanship, Sai has got some resemblance to kakashi.
That freaking barrier is quite impressive and would have been really useful during the war against the juubi...🤔🤔
Houki REALLY needs to know what was it that made Kakasi who he actually is today now so he wont have to make same mistakes & wait to learn from them
Maybe it would be more great for Houki to grow naturally since he didn't know Kakashi's whole Biography and his life that much depth as we watchers know so ig it would take time but I think Houki would be really interesting character in future
Imagine the frustration though, you're a graduated ninja just moving boxes around for a shipping company... Meanwhile there's team 7, same age and rank as you, doing high stakes missions and you feel like you're being waisted for something so menial. I mean obviously it turned out to be vital, but you don't know that until something happens. Until then you're just moving boxes....

Idk why the kid hides his eye though. For Kakashi, he had a permanent Sharingan that could not be deactivated at will and ate his chakra which is why he kept his eye closed and hid his eye.
