      It must be kids as I saw the Stroboscopic effect in science class at around 12 years old. These guys must have been asleep when their teacher showed it to them, basic science.
      Having said that, the water effect with the speaker was a nice demonstration......

    • @TXiCN

      because the BBC doesn't take Brit Lab seriously anymore.
      Their parents feed them a lot of sugary foods with artificial colouring. Soon they'll be roughhousing and someone will end up crying and have to go home. Typical children's party.

    Remember this is a show for kids to get them interested in Science and finding out why things work. If you look at any kids show, they emphasise reactions to get them excited and yes, most things are simple. However, simple often is fun. Think of the simple aspects of putting an Alka-zelter tablet in water and oil to make bubbles. Not university science, but it it fun, makes kids think about what is going on and even adults love it. At the end of the day it is about having fun, exploring science and getting kids interested to explore NOT winning Hollywood cinematography awards and best actor awards...... relax and enjoy the simple wonders of Physics:)

      *****
      it depends of the camera FPS and the flashing of the strobe light... the frequency of the flashing of the strobe light is slightly different than the frequency of the sound that is used to vibrate the pipe... you get the same effect when you take a video of airplane propeller... you cant see this effect with eye you must watch it with a camera...

    • @Hobypyrocom
      @Hobypyrocom 8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      *****
      the first time i saw this effect was early 2000th on TV and there was no explanation but my common logic solved how this works years before i saw it on youtube with explanation...
      "could we set up the experiment so that we could actually see the same effect without a camera?" yes you can, if you do the experiment in dark room with only the strobe light as a light source yes you will be able to see the efect directly with your own eyes (tho never seen such example nor i know anyone that did this, but you see using my common logic i know that it will work)... use your brain and you will see that you will be able to understand many things that have no explanation... if you rely on someone else to explain them to you then you live in a box which will be your blockage to progress outside of it...

      Your sight is not a continuous stream of image or data either. The light information in your eye is integrated (summarized) over some time, and then interpreted by the brain. So essentially, you are seeing individual pictures as well. Same mechanism applies, just with higher speeds.
