🎧Although the Evolve2 40, Evolve2 65 and ELITE 45h ear pads are the same. They are interchangeable between among those models. The Jabra Evolve2 30 is NOT compatible with these ear pads! The Jabra Evolve2 30 uses smaller ear pads.

Jabra has several models that look similar. Make sure that you do not have the Jabra Evolve2 30 as it is the only one that uses a different size. The Jabra Evolve2 40 and Evolve2 65 and Elite 45H. Are the same size cushion. Are you using one of these?
But how to open Jabra Evovle2 40 to repair broken cable?
Jabra does not provide any guidance on repairing cables yourself. I wouldn't also recommend it. But if you are handy or electrically inclined go ahead and do so on your own.
If your Jabra evolve2 40 headset is still under warranty ie you purchased it within the last 2 years you are eligible for a replacement at no charge. You just need to send the broken unit to Jabra. And they will send you a replacement.
All you need to do is open a case with the support team at Jabra to make those arrangements. It's usually very straightforward.

Why are these so horribly flat instead of having a padded ring?!?
Give a few mins to air out and breath..the ring is padded but my have flattened during shipping. Give us call if you have additional questions.
No, the "padding" is fine. The problem is the padding is BEHIND the flat part which rubs AGAINST your ear (noisily).
